This is a show straight away is on rocky ground. The plot of someone being kept for 6 years just feels ridiculous for what’s to follow and in truth you just can’t shake it throughout the whole season which spoils it somewhat. But if you can just let it go, this show really kicks in from episode 4 and the pace really picks up and becomes quite enjoyable and well worth watching as stana katic performance is excellent.
An unsolvable puzzle. Great acting. Interesting germ of an idea but it did what I most dislike in a mystery, it gave us lots of false leads and resolve it with something unforeseeable (something that I never forgave in the latter writings of Agatha Christie) . Because of that, I gave the first series a 7.5 (just good) out of 10 (it was subsequently renewed for two more season as it rated in Amazons Top Ten). After watching the second season (which had a ridiculously predictable plot) I have reduced my rating to 5 (meh) out of 10, which grieves me because I think Stana Katic was wonderful in CASTLE and I like to support Canadian talent, especially when they invest back into the industry in producing, writing and soundtrack.
