I love the part about the apple in the box. Mind-blowing!
One of the best endings in film history!
"All that singing gives me a pain. I like movies better."
Spike Lee watching this and saying "F#ck, I wish I made this movie!"
In all seriousness, the ending sent shivers down my spine.
Very good documentary but Jeff Bezos should never be painted in a good light.
I noticed an easter egg near the end of the movie.

Cool!
This just screams out how f*cked up America has a hard on for the military. Ever since 9/11 (and even before with Vietnam et al) it seems like fighting for your country is a "must" The land of the free and "this is the best country ever" bravado has always pissed me off! There are plenty of other countries where "we" are free, Most Americans don't think or even care that there are any other types of opinions out there.
I love that this movie tackled loads of hard to talk about subjects that are going on around right now from PTSD to the oxy epidemic.
Check out the George Carlin stand up from how shell shock evolved into the term PTSD. It's hilarious! That man is a legend.
Ultimately what I loved most about this movie is that it is such a well-done anti-war movie. In actuality all war movies are anti-war even if they try not to be.
If you don't like this anti-American rant then just to let you know I've lived here since I was five years old... so I was raised American,
The best thing for people to do in my opinion is to get out there and experience different cultures. In essence we are all the same. I've have so much fun with people from all types of backgrounds and countries getting drunk or what have you. Yeah, I'm kinda drunk now which is probably why I'm on this review kick!
Anyway, I loved this f'n movie and if you think otherwise I hope you find another anti-war movie that touches you!
War sucks and then you die. hahaha
It's as if Anderson, Kubrick and Burton (with a little bit of Tarantino) all were inspired by a Mary Shelly novel.
Thus, it transports you into a fantastical world with all these elements at play.
An amazing achievement in cinema!
It is a blight on humankind that we had to create this word genocide!
Extra point rating for all things Philly!
Quite a few things wrong regarding that aspect but surprisingly quite a few things correct.
Truly a remarkable movie and a stunning achievement in film history. What a feast for the eyes!
Not my kind of thing but yes visually stunning.
I watched 'Living' last night, which is the remake of this movie. It was good but nowhere near as good as Ikiru. My goodness is this such a superior movie! So much more depth and feeling to the main characters. Also, the story just flows much better and has more of a purpose to it. Kurosawa at his best and that means a lot!
Namor and his kingdom is definitely one of the best things the MCU has brought to the big screen!
Excellent little discussion at the end about the future role that the media will play in similar circumstances.
So bad it's good. Zach went too far and Larry just needed to be left in his own comfort zone.
Wow, Saif really made my skin crawl! I hope he gets everything that is coming to him.
I'm glad I didn't know what this was about before I watched it. I think that made it more enjoyable.
More power to the people of the Bamyan!
Some of the most amazing footage I have ever seen. A Christmas no Romanian will ever forget!
Since the pandemic one of the most important and passionate things about my life has gone missing, going to see bands. Compared to Dennis and Lois my love pales in comparison. My heart goes out to them!
I agree with most of this in that the Republicans involved did a lot of illegal and dirty politicking against Siegelman. Once they started painting Richard Scrushy in a good light it just showed how one sided this doc is. I watched a docuseries called 'Trial by Media' about 2 weeks prior to watching this and it showed how much of a slime ball Scrushy is.
I'm just glad I don't live in Alabama!
This is an astonishing story about Ralph Plaisted and three other companions that made it to the North Pole "first!" If you look at his Wikipedia page it is stated that "most polar authorities" regard Ralph Plaisted and his companions as the first people ever to get to the North Pole by traversing on snow and ice.
With Ralph not being on good terms with The National Geographic Society this story has been hidden from the public and it is very hard to find on the internet.
Watch this documentary and check out the Wikipedia page found here.

I am now the first person on Letterboxd to have seen First to the Top of the World. ;-)
Quite possibly the most shocking movie ever made. Powerful stuff!
WWII brought out some of the worst things human beings can do to each other. Genocide like this still happens to this day. Not happy to be human after watching this, thus I could not rate it 5 stars.
Yes, we are all human! Nobody is perfect. If these tapes come out in 2027 they will not dampen MLK's legacy for civil rights in my eyes.
On the accusation of King raping someone? FBI spies saying they could see his expressions or mannerism are impossible and were obviously pressured to get damning results for Hoover.
It's infuriating to know that the American government is probably the most hypocritical government ever!
Genius... absolute genius!
This review has to be at least 5+ words. Well, it is now.
It felt good to be watching this now that he is out of office!
They say that a picture tells a thousand words, this tells a million words!
Worth it for the ending!
