"Your brain is stupid." - Finn
Poo brain Jake is still funny.
Killer OST in this one and the funny fart scene.
Really cool to see this setting in Distant Lands later. Also the ending def scared me as a kid.
Chet, and Flambo appearance. PB gets a summer fit and that looks nice. I love that the professor and class just try to murder you if you haven't shown up to class as a worm.
"Those spit bubbles were as fragile as my view on reality." - Finn
"We were all born to die." - Finn
This marks the death of Scarlet and the brief appearance of the 4D Sword. A cool but slightly short episode.
"Wands are for wimps." - Finn
Slapping some guys ass in the middle of his proposal is wild. Goblins are birthed in mud apparently? Jake farts under a lion? Earclops' remind me of the finger people from Spy Kids. And the old king reminds me of Magic Man.
JAKE SUIT FINALE.
"JJ Flip what the zip."
Ethel and Bob aww. This is a classic episode formula and is cool with all these characters. I love how we get so much background about Lady and Jake. The ending is definitely a little weird though.
There's too many good lines and scenes that happen in this 10/10 episode so if you're reading this just watch this again.
I love this. Cool that we can see all the different princesses phones like Hot Dog Princess. Fun little season 2 ep.
Ice King saying 'smooth' will haunt me.
Omg back when they did the title card endings.
"I diagnosed this horse with wacked out poo-brain five minutes ago." - Jake
"Everything brainless likes music." - Finn
This is the "That's obvious Finn you don't have to say that out loud." clip
This one is a childhood classic. I knew the ending the whole time and still love this episode. Ice King's a real one damn.
"Just stick it in your mouth." - Finn
This episode is a classic. Very early AT.
I think it's the first showing of Finn's hair which is iconic.
"Mr. Cuddles was Penny's pet. And Penny's pretty hot. Which means he was probably pretty hot too." - Gumball
A classic season 1 episode. One of the few first person moments too.
"According to the fifth amendment I don't have to answer that without my lawyer present." - Richard
This is a classic season 1 with some cold real life analogies.
Ghostbusters reference and a huge sex joke that again I am very surprised passed censorship. Mr. Robinson's second major role was good and Richard's B plot carried.
It's good but a little too simple and short plotted.
THIS IS MFDOOM
Mr. Small is literal gold in this episode. I swear the silence snake was as scary as they think it is.
The Lassie reference was honestly funny when I was younger
Richard reminds me of the time Miss Simian thought Gumball forged his signature because of how immature it was, and also in the responsible when he refuses to put on pants.
The mortal Kombat parody game Kebab Fighter gets one of it's earliest showings.
The Hip Flip clip is amazing and definitely one of the coolest scenes in the show.
Another episode I remember watching first as a kid.
"Do you kiss your mother with that mouth." - Darwin
Gumball: "I gathered the stupidest people in town."
Rocky: "Word"
The origin of butt-puppets which is cool to see this early.
"There are no words to express the pain that I feel right now." - Darwin
This was one of the first episodes I remember seeing. Uses the same repeat ending as last episode. Just simple season 1 vibes all the way. Darwin is especially cheery.
"I'm a banana." - Banana Joe
Another beautiful use of the elegant British background song.
Gumball defends an entire nuke with a trashcan
A classic doppelganger and repeat ending tropes. A used formula adapted to Elmore and gives Bobbert some more lore, following the theme of giving background characters their own epsiode.
Honestly forgot that the video store was named Ripley 2000.
"Cheese is not too bad involved in vain in this house." - Richard
Bad to the Bone riff???
Very much a persistent goal season one episode.
AIN'T NO WAY GUMBALL CALLS A GIRL FLAT HOW DID THIS AIR. Rachael's only main role and episode in the whole show, with a very sparse number of small appearances later.
"You're not really my type because I usually like attractive girls but hey beggars can't be choosers. You are a girl right?" - Gumball :skull:
We hear Darwin's hilarious long name and this episode is just so funny and unique with awesome effects and plenty of more adult references.
A little predictable and not the most memorable episode but still good nonetheless. The first appearance of Granny "JoJo" Joanna with quite a different design than season two onward. Darwin really encapsulates his season one persona. Anias' B plot was also predictable but still funny.
This is only 30 seconds long.
SUBURBAN KARATE MASTER
I love that game so much and rewatching this makes me want to try it on controller. I love the growth of the boys while mirroring their parents when they were young is adorable. Ending it on the positive note that even Richard, while embarrassing and silly, is still himself and should be loved for it is perfect.
This episode is one of my favorites, goofy fun the whole time with an entertaining plot and a hilarious end. Full gumball.
I'll be honest with ya, I broke five ribs.
- Richard
More season 1 charm. Fun and goofy who dunnit
Honestly raises a lot of questions about Carrie. Why does she not inherit a body all the time? And this makes her a lot scarier. Gumball did not deserve this :sob: This episode feels really repetitive with not enough progress being made plot wise and gets boring. Comedy doesn't save this one either :(
Crazy Larry lore. Simple season 1 episode but has the charm of being simple.
I love how everyone get's out of their comfort zones-ish. It's an odd change of pace to see attempted improvement but concluded well in that that's not who they all are. Season 1 Mr. Small shines in this too.
Richard following the gps is one of, if not, my most favorite clips from this whole show. Idaho finally gets a background episode like a lot of other characters, most recently shown with Clayton. I love the inclusion of Mozart's Lacrimosa too. Drunk Gumball and Idaho is hilarious and they use a beer funnel LOL.
"We'll deal with our emotions like grown ups, push them down deep inside and ignore them for the rest of our lives" - Gumball
The magician tropes were the best part :joy:
I like how the whole episode is a play on Pulp Fiction.
Tbh this episode is a little boring but cool to see Clayton as a focus.
