Spoiler alert What a huge let-down the 'big finale' was. Dunno if it was just that it was trying to deal with how it would be to have this one 'monster' in actual real world and sticking to that rather than making more of it than would be 'realistic' but it just fell flat, would have preferred a little more oompf. Shame, as it geared up to what I was hoping was going to be a decent ending but nah, it went from a 7 to a 6 just from that last episode alone.
I'm actually just bored. Maybe the book is better.
I wouldn't let anyone under at least 12 watch this. I am 23 and I was terrified.
With every episode I was gradually lowering my expectations, and even though at that point I expected a bad finale, I still ended up disappointed. Well done.
This movie is a decent homage to Reservoir Dogs, but ultimately pretty forgettable. It's hard to see the point when Reservoir Dogs has been around so much longer, and is still just significantly better.
It never really felt like the main character of Gannon was ever in any danger, regardless of the secrets he was keeping.
The cast of characters was initially pretty fun, until they all started acting in ways no real person in their situation would act like.
There are worse movies. But that's not much of a recommendation.
Worth a watch. It's not an action movie, so don't expect zombies and explosions, it's more about the day to day reality of a post-apocalyptic world. The amount of distrust between strangers really drives home just how far the world has fallen, and it does end up being fairly brutal. Very bleak and moody. I'd recommend it.
Bone Tomahawk is an amazing hybridisation of the best of Horror movies and Westerns. As an extremely rare blend of both genres, it is a really peculiar and unique movie in the best way possible. Directing is really outstanding. The quartet of actors deliver performances that are indubitably in the ranks of their bests. Photography is really great. The minimalistic atmosphere and the progressive "slow-burn" pacing make the relationships between the main cast particularly endearing (plus the dialogues are really well-written and the interactions between the characters are particularly visceral and real). Fans of both genres will be more than satisfied.
Note of caution: the movie might be considered the opposite of PC (for the sake of a certain kind of "historical realism"). It is also of course really (really) gruesome in some moments. Still, it is not at all a deterrent IF you like the two genres, as the codes of both are respected in a clinical manner, and masterfully blended.

I liked it just fine, I hope to see another series.
Great soundtrack... my family on my mom's side is from Arkansas...one time my uncle Thor...cant make this stuff up...got hammered and the sheriff showed up, and ended up in a tussle with my great uncle and pistol whipped him but my uncle was a badass mofo and wrestled the gun away from the cop and tried to shoot the cop but the gun was jammed because it got damaged on my uncles hard ass head and then he got tackled and mobbed haha made the paper
I liked it. There was some awesome kill scenes, but I think the premise was a little . Also full-disclosure. Never heard of it, but watched it because #VinceVaughn was in it. He needs to be in more stuff. Brawl in Cell Block 99 was an instant favorite of mine.
Thoughts?
