This was pretty bland. Not really that funny and the action wasn't great. I thought Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson would be fun but they were just fine. Kumail Nanjiani's character was the best part of the movie.
this show grows on you surprisingly... lee sun gyun and gong hyo jin DELIVER and their chemistry is OFF the charts
A journey to family matters
I'm not a big fan of long K-dramas, usually they tend to have many filler episodes but this one is an underrated gem.
Every single one in the cast did great, from the children to the elders, every character had the time to shine even if they weren't that relevant to the main plot, hopefully this will get the recognition it deserves with time.
My score: 9.2/10
The best show ever!!!!!!!!! ♥
This became one of my favourite kdramas, and for several reasons:
1. The actors are amazing, every one of them, and so is their chemistry; (especially Lee Jun Ho and Jung Ryeo Won, such a great match!)
2. The characters are easy to love, their quirkiness, honesty, joy, liveliness, strength;
3. The cheerful, at times absurd, and mostly funny atmosphere of the show is so relaxing and keeps making you smile;
4. Best main couple ever, and great love scenes too. The actors are incredibly convincing, they look completely like a real couple;
5. Lots of awesome food scenes.
This incredible pilot remember me why I love so much David Lynch. I think I'll love this tv show.
I already watch this movie 3 times and it's so amazing. I like this type of movie, you never know if in X years you are going to be in love with your best friend and faith is kind of scary and fun. A good movie :)
Okay, here it is, your choice... it's simple, her or me, and I'm sure she is really great. But Derek, I love you, in a really, really big "pretend to like your taste in music, let you eat the last piece of cheesecake, hold a radio over my head outside your window", unfortunate way that makes me hate you, love you.
So pick me, choose me, love me.
Not allowed to do a review yet but I'll say this:
This is how you do a superhero movie.
This is how you do a war movie.
And the best comment of the night: "It was amazing, it made me believe I could become Wonder Woman." -6yo girl
Wonder Woman is... well... wonderful! This movie is a true representation of the characters I have grown up with and loved from DC comics and the justice league animated series. This movie is about how Diana the princess of Themyscira becomes Wonder Woman, a classic fish out of water tale of innocence and heroism.
The chemistry between the two leads feels so natural and it is because of this chemistry that Steve's sacrifice is so heartbreaking . While the movie may not be as layered or multifaceted as other DCEU offerings such as Man of Steel, making use of a more classic 'by the numbers' superhero formula, it is undoubtedly a more meaningful movie. It shows us the true nature of humanity through the eyes of an Amazon who has no preconceptions or history with our species. It shows us the ugliness of mankind, how cheaply we value human life with the wars we create, and how stereotypical gender roles have been/are to the detriment of women without bashing us over the head with a heavy-handed feminist agenda. On the other hand, through her eyes, we also see the things humanity is capable of through the power of love.
Despite the importance of this movie, Wonder Woman doesn't depress or bog the audience down. It conveys these important messages within the context of an uplifting film filled with fun, action and romance.
Critics have voiced their approval for this movie, but that shouldn't make fans of the DCEU fearful. Wonder Woman seamlessly fits in with the DCEU, making use of similar colour palates, action direction, and story telling. While this is a movie all little girls must watch, it is truly a movie for everyone... it is simply... WONDERFUL!
An easily missable and forgettable semi-supernatural (bullet bending, some kind of adrenaline ESP, and other assassin magic) action flick that is actually better than it seems. On the second viewing, I found a direct giveaway to the main twist half an hour into the movie. It's not hidden, but neither is attention called to it. Just a quick little shot that will make you go "huh?" and then it moves on. I also found a reference to the writers, "J.G. Millar" at the end (on a cubicle, a reference to J.G. Jones and Mark Millar). There are probably other little things hidden throughout that are less obvious than, say, the words on the bullets that are made obvious (and what the keyboard keys spell). The movie may try to be a little more clever than it was by aping Fight Club with the monologues, but it never holds itself out as a serious film. It's a witty action flick not unlike the Fast/Furious films (and it has its fair share of car stunts, too, and some Dom hasn't done yet) but with assassins. It may not be a Best Picture winner and it may not have made IMDb Top 250, but you could do a lot worse on a Friday night.
Perfect ending, I yelled. I never yell. Did not expected that. When you see this episode for a second time, some of the scenes have a completely different impact. So I recommend watching this episode two times.
COURTESY REMINDER: PLEASE don't spoil the last four words for anyone, no matter if they are amazing or eh. Some people have waited almost ten years for this, so make the spoiler tag your friend on here and in real life.
Money Monster is a news show about the Wall Street numbers, one day Lee Gates (the presentator) keeps talking about IBIS bank and how great an investment is to put your money there. A short period after that show IBIS loses a large amount of money. One day a man who invested almost all his money in the IBIS bank (Kyle Budwell) takes the whole Money Monster crew hostage to get answers about the certain "glitch".
First things first, I really enjoyed the acting in this movie. The characters were all very convincing and their own persons, so that was really great. I enjoyed the story as well, although it was a bit long which brought some unnecessary parts.
Julia Roberts did a great job as Patty Fenn who is the director of the Money Monster show and really is just a very responsible, calm and smart woman. If it wasn’t for her I think a lot who have gone wrong once the hostage situation started. George Clooney who plays Lee Gates (the presentator of the show) was a very interesting character throughout the whole movie. He was the perfect show host and Wall Street guy combined, but in the ending he showed a very caring side which made him a more sort of true person, which I really enjoyed. Kyle Budwell was played by Jack O’Connell, an actor I personally really like seeing in movies. He really showed all Kyle his emotions, regrets and thoughts throughout everything. There were a lot of emotions involved with this character and Jack did really great. I also want to take my time to tell how much I enjoyed Lenny Venito his character Lenny and Emily Meade her character Molly (she had a very small part, but it was a very good part). And of course Caitriona Balfe as Diane Lester. I only know her as Claire in the Outlander series, so it was refreshing to see her in something like this.
I enjoyed the movie, and would recommend it to people who like these sort of movies. It was a bit lengthy but it’s worth the watch. I had a hardtime choosing between 6 or 7 stars but I chose 6, I did enjoy it and it did keep me interested once the action started.
(this was the first time i had a hard time writing a review without spoilers, wow, haha)
except for the kinda shitty trailer, this movie really suprised me. it got everything right, had much pleasure watching it and cant wait to see more of this fantastic universe come to cinema!
Do they streetnames on purpose? It seems so. Previously "mbie" street where the Police Department is located. Around half at 20:42 the sign is shown again, it's different now, it's blue in the dark, but with the letters "Cambie" street. In episode 11 it was green in daylight at ~31:23 with a camera angle only showing the above-mentioned letters. Now it's Gore Avenue at the beginning.
I guess they did it before but I just missed it. Nice little detail.
And holy crap, Major. Didn't think this show has the guts to end a season like this. Fantastic.
Music choice is funny, too. Falco with Der Kommissar. Gives it all a certain ironic undertone.
Perfect end for an in my eyes perfect season. Now, I really am happy about the second season order.
I really adore this movie. I don't really care if it's predictable or not. I laughed and I had a great time.
