"I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anybody?”
Quite entertaining despite all the bad reviews. Critics are just tired of Jack Sparrow I think. They are not tired of Fast and Furious movies though ?
The movie is fun and better than the 4th one. Kaya Scodelario makes a good addition as Carina Smyth. Who gets either confused as a witch or...a whore because she's a horologist lol. There's plenty of humor like that throughout that makes this one of the better Pirates movies.
While Javier Bardem once again makes a great villain as Captain Salazar. Who from the trailers you probably figured out, is a spirit wants vengeance on Jack Sparrow.
Otherwise stuff, like the search for Poseidon's Trident is as silly as the search for the fountain of youth in the last film. Also don't expect too much Orlando Bloom but it's nice to see him back nevertheless.
If this is the last one I wouldn't complain since it's a fitting ending.
This is a very polarizing film and for good reason. The book is one of the greatest of all time and there are enormous expectations for any Dune adaptation, yet it's worth noting that Dune is 800 pages long so turning the book into a single, 2.5 hour movie is incredibly difficult. It's apparent that there is a drop in quality about half way through the movie, this is because Lynch's budget and time frame weren't matching up with what the studio allowed for him. This unfortunately led to a rushed and fairly low quality ending to Dune. However, the Intro to this movie with Princess Irulan explaining the universe in space is my favorite of all time and the first half in general is excellent. All in all Lynch did all he could to save this movie and it is still enjoyable but the task was too big even for an excellent director like David Lynch
Who doesn't love this movie!?
Stephen King rocks!
What an annoying movie. Guy throws a pity party for two hours because his fiancée gets a promotion instead of him.
two episodes left but WOW
season two is just on another level
what a gem of a tv show
Really like this movie, have seen it a couple of times now. It´s good entertainment and I bet the conspiracy theorists were having a field day with this one.
On a side note: I wonder why most of the older movies on trakt have such low average ratings. They shouldn´t be compared to modern movies if that´s the case. Instead they should be view in the context of the time they we´re made.
I'm working my way through some of Michelle Pfeiffer's filmography. This one is a great spoof on the gangster movies of the 70s-90s. Lots of fun. Both Michelle and Robert De Niro easily fall into roles they play effortlessly and De Niro takes us back to all the Scorsese films In which he cut his acting teeth. Accolades to Dianna Agron who brings a psychopathic light to her innocent character, and John D'Leo who is a convincing clever little hooligan. Great watch that doesn't take itself very seriously. I give this an 8 (great) out of 10. People who had expectations of this as anything but a comedy, came to see the wrong film, and consequently they were disappointed. [Comedy, Action, PseudoCrime]
