Makes me want to cancel my Disney subscription. Quality over quantity! Do remember when Disney had the best movie storylines... what happened? Can make an interesting TV show story? Seems not... Please don't ruin a successful franchise.

@daniel-e-jones-me-com I’d definitely cancel my Disney subscription over this if I were you
Boring and lifeless. Is that stupid fake accent supposed to be German? Have they heard a German person speaking English???
Shonda Rhimes... producing garbage and brainwashing gullible white people sice, Grey's Anatomy.

@durack She is a Russian person who lived in Germany and France. So no, it's not supposed to be German at all buy actually an "accent from nowhere". You can watch videos of Anna to see that you're plainly wrong.

@durack look up the story. That was really how Anna talked. It's not supposed to be a perfect German accent. It's supposed to be how Anna Delvey did the accent.
did an anti-vaxxer write this script or what

@madstvwriter You missed the point entirely.
The film is not about COVID-19 or vaccines, at all. It's about ecological collapse and the apathetic "well, the damage is already done, we're all just gonna die now" stance. Art represents the willingness to fight for a better future and not just give up.

@sansebas101996 Pretty sure catfan29 is Lilly Singh. Thats the only explanation I've got.
The writers of this show are so ignorant of other cultures they just had a Japanese woman take off her shoes….in her living room.

@nescobar-a-lop-lop I meant this to be a funny observation that anyone else that has lived in Japan would get. But as someone who is 1/4 Japanese and lived most of my adult life there, the answer to your question is no. That wouldn’t have mattered at all. Why would you think she grew up in America? Even foreigners (which she is not) are supposed to adhere to local customs there. There’s nothing in the show to suggest your hypothetical suggestion is the case nor would that even matter. No one wears their shoes into their home! They are in Japan and she works for the horribly portrayed JAXA (renamed JASA in the show). The writing is sloppy and they obviously didn’t research much of anything. The one thing they did get right is her lesbian relationship being taboo and kept secret. Japan is not as progressive as most western countries in that regard. Since it’s an American show though I shouldn’t expect much else to be culturally accurate.
Went in with a open mind, knew nothing about the movie. Just in there for Alexandra Daddario. Some parts were cliched, wouldn't deny that. But the comedy worked. It was not boring, meanwhile it could have definitely been a lot better!
Have nothing to watch? Go for it.

It should have been little faster
Even though as a guy it takes an effort to warm up to the setting of a girls' ballet school, the story is very good and makes the film really worthwhile. Oh one thing I found strange, was that the mentally-handicapped student, Hae-Ju could be present at the school at all. The idea of of a mentally handicapped student being enrolled in an elite and highly-competitive ballet school isn't plausible?? Otherwise good acting and a slow paced creepy movie.

@cocotus she isn't in there for ballet and its not a ballet school. she's there for the art section of the school.
Even my huge crush on Rebecca Ferguson couldn't keep me interested in this. It starts off as a cheap HBO intro from the 90s as well. Put a bit more effort into the CG of the opening shot to make me take you seriously. Boringgggg and I see the contrarian fans will tout it as misunderstood. Yawn.

@kryptwalker why mention what contrarian fans might or might not say. Just give your opinion, no need to defend it in advance.
