watching a dubbed version.. is this historical epic true? one man, and not that healthy looking either, on his own, fights & defeats entire armies! :o
Sincere, Solid , Unoriginal
Khuda Haafiz 2 is an earnest & sincerely made sequel that even after having a contrived plot rides on the powerhouse performance of Vidyut Jammwal. The film uses rape as an excuse to advance the storyline and eventually convert this into a new franchise. The film's first half focuses on emotional drama, and the second half is about Vidyut going insane. The drama even if predictable feels genuine and heartfelt and the action is brutal and gory which director Faruk Kabir unifies through the film effectively. Sheeba Chaddha as Thakur ji proves how versatile she is as the antagonist and gives an intimidating performance. Overall, Khuda Haafiz 2 is a hacky, no-nonsense Bollywood film that rides on a sensitive but overworked issue of rape in the country, but is still enjoyable because of brilliant direction, sensational lead, and a beautiful score by Mithoon.
After Khuda Haafiz was released in 2020 on OTT, we all were in the union of praising Vidyut the actor rather than Vidyut the action star. This still resonates with how the film movies here in the sequel. Vidyut is a vulnerable husband in the first half followed by a menacing, revenge-seeking ordinary man in the second. Shivalika Oberoi is decent and adds good emotional support to the drama. The action set pieces are well shot and presented and stay raw with no over-the-top moments. The film I wish could have imparted a better storyline rather than playing the stale tropes of rape. If you loved Khuda Haafiz 1 then it's a no-brainer to watch 2 as it's the beginning of something (another franchise).

Probably the slowest tv series ever seen. You could easily watch it at 2x speed (even 4x) without realizing the difference.
Some episode are endless... you just go on hoping something exciting will happen....
Overall: incredibly boring!!
boring, slow moving and does not offer more than some shocker moments. the hype for this show is unjustified, imho
Neeson must have been sick when they filmed this. Not sure who the stand in is but they can't act.
Just another Liam movie. Not great, not original, bad script.
Who the hell wrote a script that the Killer sits in a bomb, threatening others.
Also that cop holding a full front door by hand :person_facepalming:
Horrible movie. Would not recommend to watch it.
this was just incredibly average and unoriginal. felt like something i'd seen 6 times before. acting n script were both subpar, don't bother with this one
What did they do??? Casted the most annoying Co-Actors on this planet and put them all in one movie?
My greatest joy in watching this is simply that it marks the end of the True Justice "movies"....which, as I've stated before, are not actual full-length motion pictures, but multiple episodes (in the case of One Shot, One Life it was the final three episodes of the final Season of True Justice ). As per almost all of the other True Justice movies, this was simply multiple episodes of Season 2, and as a "standalone" film, would make absolutely no sense to anyone who hasn't followed the entire show. In addition, One Shot, One Life ends with a sort of "cliffhanger" ending as the SIU (Seagal's Special Investigations Unit) team winds up scattering to the four corners and Elijah Kane, (team leader and Seagal's character) is left sending out a message to the team telling them to lay low and keep their heads down and "I'll find you..." As in so many of his other True Justice direct-to-video projects, this one is completely abstract and will make very little sense to anyone. Probably my least favorite of ALL of the True Justice series, and I'm just glad it's over with. I would avoid this one.
This movie's opening few minutes were the best it had to offer. It really pulled me in, but unfortunately, by about the half way point, I'd gotten tired of hearing the cast of misfits, troublemakers and convicts talk about themselves. There weren't enough of the actual predators around to keep things interesting.
Adrien Brody doesn't work very well here. Neither does Alice Braga. They're decent enough actors but they just seemed out of place in this violent, Action/Sci-Fi flick.
There were a number of twists and turns here and they were surprising at times, but frankly, weren't all that interesting. I won't write about them as I don't want to spoil anything, even though they only affected me slightly.
"Predators" looks pretty good. I liked the alien landscapes but at times the fight scenes seemed confined to what must have been a rather small set. It felt a bit like Kirk fighting Kruge on the Genesis planet (a monumentally corny scuffle that I still laugh at).
This is the weakest of the "Predator" movies. The original is a total classic while "Predator 2" is a really fun B-Movie romp. I'm not counting any of the "Alien Vs. Predator" movies. They don't exist in the same Humans Vs. Predators domain to me.
I cannot forgive a movie that wastes Danny Trejo and Mahershala Ali back to back, and for what? For Adrien Brody, who is a vacuous black hole of charisma as an action hero and thinks a subpar impression of Cole McGrath is good enough? For the comic relief rapist character? Who made sure to bring back the f slur, do not worry. For a movie that overcomplicates a simple conceit and loses everything interesting about it? And The Predator is said to be worse? I pray Prey’ll be worth it. Only gets one star off the back of Changchien and the sword scene
I have mixed feelings about this movie: I was utterly impressed by some things but totally disappointed and actually rather annoyed by others. Rating it was a tough one. The theme is awesome, on point and up to date with the current problems in our society, so much that in the first half you definitely route for The East despite the aggressive approach. Also, I've read about the meaning of the title and it's so clever you wish the movie was up to the task.
In the second half they ruined everything! Most of the anarchists turn out to be rich people who are doing everything for personal reasons and family issues rather than for believing in the cause, the protagonist (who is a woman for once, points for that!) is irritating AF and totally looks like she makes decisions at random and by the way, what's with the affaire?! Other than adding drama to the last scene it feels pointless. In the end the best thing about The East is Toby Kebbell's character, the only one who doesn't feel one dimensional and that has a real purpose from beginning to end.
This great piece of Sci-fi movies shows us a society engulfed in the power of genetics, Everything you do must have an absolute perfection to it. This movie show that the way society achieves this bij geneticaly enhancing its members, Children born without genetic enhancements are excluded from the higher achieving ashalons of society, one of these children "Vincent Freeman",played by (ethan Hawke), however takes it to another level when he decides by taking the identity of Jerome Morow (Jude Law), a genetic altered human who rents out his identity because he has fallen from grace by a personal tragidy (accident), he suffered. Vincent is hell bent on trying to cheat the system and show its flaws. By becoming a pilot for the saturnus mission. Cheating the system however isn't as easy as it seems, The film explores humanity and its many inperfections and in Essence what it means to be human.
The movie was nominated for an Hugo award, personaly i think its realy oscar material. The great acting of (law, Hawke, Uma Thurman). makes for some enjoyable viewing, with of course some smaller roles for "old school" actors like (Ernest Borgnine, Gore Vidal,
Although The Movie did receive positive reviews it wasnt a box office succes, it also sparked some discussion of genetics and discrimination in the common day world. The film however manages to achieve cult status amongs sci-fi viewers. and is an absolute must see for Sci-fi Fans
It was a 7/10 for me until they decided to sent him back. Before they told us no living thing can pass through but suddenly our protagonist can, just because plot requires him to do so. Also Doug seems to care more about a single woman than 500+ people on that ferry. That made it meh! for me.
Policeman Danny Fischer (WWE's John Cena) captures career criminal Miles, but Miles's sexy accomplish dies in the process, so a year passes and Danny (who's since been promoted to police detective) now has to play a deadly cat and mouse game with Miles who has broken out of prison and kidnapped Fischer's girl. Danny has to use all of his wits and action wiles to survive the criminal's deadly 12 rounds.
The acting in this movie is sub-par, but the action is pretty much non-stop when it gets going. So essentially what we're dealing with here is a bigger budgeted B-movie (with the B, in this case, standing for Brain-dead) If you can somehow check your brain at the door, you'll have some fun with this flick. It's certainly better than what Director Renny Harlin had put out in the first decade of the 21st century (With "Driven" & "Exorcist: The Beginning" being particularly abysmal) It's not a great film by any stretch of the imagination and it has strong shades of the third Die Hard film. But if you're just looking for a film for a lazy Saturday night, you could do worse.
I heard that John Cena was in this movie but I just never saw him. Very strange movie with people having one sided conversations. Good way to waste time would watch again.
What a waste of time, a movie just to make some money, a poor script. Not recommend it.
Pros:
- The VFX work is great, especially the dinosaurs
Cons:
- No world building
- No exposition
- No explanations
- Nothing happens
- All of the potentially suspenseful moments were shown in the trailer
I love slow movies; Lawrence of Arabia is one of my favorites. But this film is surprisingly boring, and it makes an hour and a half feel like it's dragging on. There's no meaningful dialogue because the only two characters in the film don't speak the same language. It's a dinosaur movie where nobody gets eaten, and the dinosaurs are barely even an issue until the very end.
Apparently, Adam Driver has now reached the Nic Cage stage of his career.
What a terrible movie. There was nothing funny or remotely interesting here. Just a lot of bad acting.
I went into this movie expecting cheesy... But it blew my expectations out of the water.
I hadn't seen this in almost twenty years, and that's probably for the best. Since it's very clearly postured as a children's movie, I can't dock too many points if it's overly silly, hokey and naïve, but I do suddenly feel quite sorry for dragging my folks out to see it all those summers ago. Simply put, it's not one of those kid's movies that parents will be surprised to enjoy just as much as their little ones.
Val Kilmer and Warwick Davis have a strange sort of charm that manages to shine through the wooden dialog and dated special effects, and the plot has the optimistic, adventurous core of a classic fairy tale, so it's not like there's a total lack of positives. But it also borrows heavily from Tolkien, paling badly by comparison, and it pushes the limits of suspended disbelief too far on more than one occasion. George Lucas's influence is all over the screen, too, from the excessively playful tone to the heavy-handed wipe transitions and stiff, overly proper reparteé. If you've ever wondered what a Hobbit might look like on Endor, this is your ticket.
I know die hard/old school Disney fans swear by the original Disney Swiss Family Robinson but...I didn't like this movie as kid and I disliked it even after rewatching it as an adult. The movie is slow and boring and if it wasn't for the last 20 minutes, the film would be a 1 on the rating scale. The fight between brothers for the "girl" grew old....quick. In fact, a lot of the of the movie was a little too corny for my liking. Sorry Swiss Family fans, the attraction at Disney World and this movie both are a hard pass for me.
Not a horrible movie, but definitely not a good one. The first half or so was kinda hard to get through and the other half was kinda hard to follow. Besides that the poor accents are a real turn off. Overall I didn’t have a terrible time, but won’t watch it again.
(And if you’re sensitive to torture scenes, like myself, maybe don’t watch it in a theater.)
I'm surprised at the number of positive to almost glowing reviews. While the end is a great twist, I'm not sure it makes up for the rest of the film. Far too long, and the terrible accents were incredibly disappointing and distracting (perhaps, hire an actor that actually speaks the language and can act?!). I never bought Jennifer Lawrence as a spy/ballerina/deadly weapon of the state, it just never felt plausible. With so many incredible movies out, unless you're a die-hard Lawrence fan or Russian-moviephile, don't go out of your way to watch this one.
Sometimes, bad is good... But sometimes it's just bad.
In the end, The Jewel of the Nile didn't really meet expectations. Not at the Box Office and not with me. It's a decent enough adventure effort, but fail to live up to Romancing the Stone. If you are after excellence stick with the aforementioned predecessor. If you just want an ok enough adventure movie to pass a couple of hours, The Jewel of the Nile will do.
I think we can all agree that they never should have tried to remake this movie. The original is a classic and there was no way this movie could ever compare, so really is was a losing prospect to begin with.
