The ending didn't make sense to me.
Why would the kid saying that Vijay gave her the toy implicate him or Kat? As per their police statement, Vijay had met Kat & her kid at the church and then they all drove to Kat's home too. So he can say he had given the toy to the kid during any of that time. How does that make him look guilty?
Also, why would Kat wear the ring Vijay was offering? That would make HER look like an accomplish; that both of them were lovers and did the murder together.
what a stupid show. Hollywood/Disney outdid themselves on showing their stupidity on this one . waste of file time and money.
Glorious purpose, Loki is saving the current MCU, literally. Probably the best thing to come out from Marvel in a long time.
Without a doubt one of the best thing Marvel's ever created, This is what Marvel should be.
Loki's Character Development is supreme.
Kaala Paani (Black Water) is about the unraveling of a society under crisis. An epidemic strikes the island, and the show follows characters on disparate journeys as they all come to understand how civility is a thin veneer, and there are different rules for survival in a dystopia. Netflix bills this as their first Indian survival drama, and if that’s what you’re looking for, this delivers.
Kaala Paani remains rooted in Indian drama, with enough familiar Bollywood tropes and super dramatic acting to satisfy (or frustrate, depending on taste). The setting of a near-future Andaman and Nicobar adds a little freshness for seasoned viewers of both Indian dramas and english post-apocalyptic drama (why so many desert wastelands?). But if you like this show, credit is due to the writer’s clarity of idea — the human aspect of epidemic survival — and the director’s focus on execution. The team said yes to liberal use of fable & philosophy tropes, yes to time skips, yes and yes again to flashbacks (make it like Oprah’s giving them away), and no to in-depth explanations of science/procedure/things-that-aren’t-drama. The focus is entirely on the character journeys undertaken by a set of individuals from a distribution of roles across the island society. The actors all did very well, and most have juicy dramatic bits preceded by overlong childhood flashbacks (can you tell my biggest quibble? yet they are a classic Indian trope that can’t be escaped… get it?) to hammer in that character development. This is not a mystery series: there are no twists, no red herrings. But the 7 episodes are meaty with social drama, seasoned with the urgency of a thriller, and light on the boring gristle. Overall, Kaala Paani will hits the spot. And if my review hasn’t put you off it, I think you’ll enjoy it too.
A second season is possible but not required. The epidemic isn’t fully resolved (given the time frame it can’t be anyway), but most characters have reached a climax and denouement to complete their arc. If continued, here’s hoping the writing remains true to concept with new character journeys so that the energy stays high.
Kaala Paani: A Gripping Pandemic Thriller on Netflix
Kaala Paani throws viewers into the midst of a deadly pandemic on India's Andaman Islands. It follows the struggles of tourists, doctors, and officials as they fight for survival and face tough choices.
Pros: Gripping story, complex characters, and stunning island scenery make for an immersive experience. The show raises important questions about ethics, responsibility, and the human impact of disasters.
Final Thoughts: Kaala Paani is a powerful drama that sheds light on the human side of pandemics. If you enjoy thought-provoking thrillers in unique settings, give it a watch. Just be prepared for some emotional moments.
Dawson is starting to grate on me. She only cares about what she wants and doesn't care about Casey.
Such an inspiring movie that is a must watch. Even though it might seem cinematic / dramatic at very few instances, the directory and the entire crew has done an excellent job of conveying a simple and worth noting message.
There are two things that are basis of this world. Poverty / Riches and Education
This film is incredibly racist, from the colonizer's perspective, and it doesn't exactly respect women. Unsurprisingly, Rudyard Kipling - who wrote the poem that this film was based upon - was an imperialist.
That being said and acknowledged, I am a Cary Grant fan and the humor & adventure really worked for me. I enjoyed this film while being hyperaware of its faults.
Here's a reddit comment that I appreciated which shares further perspective on the film: https://tinyurl.com/45yp9etk
"Life is full of change. Some big, some small. I learned a long time ago, you can fight it or you can try to make the best of it. And that's all a lot easier if you've got people who love you helping you face whatever life throws at you.”
It was a beautiful finale. Nothing truly groundbreaking but I thought they did a great job wrapping the show. So many sweet moments – the Dunphy siblings, Phil and Jay, Claire and Mitch’s misadventure, Jay learning Spanish, and the ending shot - leaving that porch light on, symbolism of how Claire and Phil know their kids will return at some point.
I liked it for the most part but I think the ending seemed rushed and it’s a little unrealistic that so many family members are leaving at once. I’m glad they didn’t go with Jay passing away and I really loved the parallels between the first and last scenes of the show - Phil and Claire going over their calendar, Jay and Gloria at the football match, and Mitch and Cam on a flight. I expected Cam to top the first baby reveal. The Lion King one will forever go down in history.
A hugely missed opportunity not to address the documentary element. We'll never know why these people have been interviewed for 11 years.
Joe Goldberg is officially on my top 5 of the most terrifying villains on film. The Swede, Joan Furgasen, and Walter White.
The character is played perfectly!
Mr. Robot + Dexter + Fifty shades of grey
this episode sets up a spinoff series with the name of the episode title, it was a very good episode and if the spinoff is anything like the good doctor, chances are it's going to be good.
"Why she wouldn't even hurt a fly."
Dude, Anthony Perkins is so good. So so good. So good in fact it's kinda epic. Also, Janet Leigh has such expressive eyes, which explains why the camera is always focus on her face.
At one point while watching the movie, I was reaching for my drink until a certain scene caught me off guard and froze me in place. That scene is where Marion Crane is waiting at the traffic light and sees her boss crossing the street, both locking eyes. It is more effective if you watch it yourself.
Why do I have a feeling Alfred Hitchcock was a serial killer in a past life.
they canceled this fantastic show, meanwhile they keep producing shitty teen drama's. what a shame
There are no shootouts, there are no violent scenes of murder, there is only talking and talking, and talking. This show is about behaviour without really showing it. Superb directing by Fincher, Douglas, Kapadia and Lindholm, but where the show really excels is in the writing.
E: It’s taxing lifestyle. A lot of factors that go into success. As I got better, I was very careful that all conditions were exactly right. This person you’re after, he has on overwhelming fantasy life. Fantasies of what he’s done, what he wants to do, how he’s going to improve. These dreams will consume him. Soon the real world won’t even compare.
B: How do we catch a fantasy, Ed?
E: You can’t. If he’s any good, you’ll never see it. He’ll live like any other person, have a relationship, hold down a job.
H: We know killers don’t have the tools to manage real life. They come from marginalized backgrounds, they break under the pressure of what they’ve done. They make mistakes.
E: It seems to me everything you know about serial killer has been gleaned from the ones who’ve been caught.
Eh. . I feel empty now, after finishing these series. . It was really great tv show, soo much intrigue, soo much suspence. . Even gays arent annoying in these series. Recommended.
Admittedly there's not a lot to like about any of the characters except the main one. She's tough, hardened and trying y to do right by everyone which is how the whole thing goes south for her. A defense attorney is supposed to protect their clients innocent or guilty, so I think a lot of the bad reviews forget that.
But this is really about everyone makes bad decisions at one point or another. Do we hold someone accountable? Do they hold themselves? There's a consistent theme here and it's about good people do bad things and bad people often convince themselves they're good by being bad.
There's also a lot about how vindictive we can be as a society to the way we treat strong, straight up people and how easily we turn on the people who are the most honest with us and the ones that are most protective of us.
It ends with vindication (ironic how ation v ive changes a meaning so drastically). I think that's what bounces the show from an 8 to a 10. There's something cleansing about the ending being fair in a world we know often is not.
I binge watched the whole show throughout the night. It was quite predictable but still watchable and unique. I enjoyed how realistic everything was. The cast was chosen just perfectly and did a great job to portray an acceptable teen romance. I'm looking forward for season 2.
Both films are fantastic but second definitely scores higher than the first with more action, better camera work and affects were so much better and definitely was more noisier than the first and loved the ending and hoping it doesn’t end there because I’d love a 3rd movie, back story on the aliens would be nice but wouldn’t mind if they still keep it quiet..
I. Love. Mr.Bean.
this show is like a snack fun and hilarious :joy:
I want expecting much when it came up as a suggestion in my prime lists.
if you're a homophob, not for you.
if you're not into girl power, strong women, not for you.
if you're racist, not going to be for you.
if you like fantasy, crossed with "crime" solving, military-ish with superwomen? you're in luck.
it's surprisingly engaging. charmed with a while lot more kick-assery going on.
The same fxcking car Ruth knows was following her prior, but she parks, gets out and walks over to inspect?!! AND WENDY THE WITCH LIVES??! WHACK final scene. Someone just tell me Jonah shot Wendy and I’ll be happy!
I feel like my reactions to and enjoyment of this show is the adult equivalent of how 13 year-old me felt about The Vampire Diaries... and I don't mind.
Great horror thriller about Jigsaw who chooses "unworthy" people not appreciating their lives (like drug addicts) and gives them 2 choices: die or make a major sacrifice (like cutting of your leg, slicing up the belly of an innocent, etc.). He communicates with his victims via video tapes. Very cool ending and great plot-twists!
Inessential, Muddled, Forgettable
Cutputli unabashedly ruins a classic thriller with a disastrous remake. With only one job at hand, to just follow the script of the original, but the makers decide to destroy it altogether. When a 170min film is compressed into a 130min film, the makers decide to chop off important twists and mess with the effective storytelling, still having enough time to add a non sensical romantic song in the middle of an investigative crime mystery.
Pooja Entertainment's Vashu Bhagnani and Jacky Bhagnani . What were you guys thinking ? Why did you mess this one? Of course , they knew this hence an OTT release. Akshay's is good but as a senior actor it's high time he should acknowledge creative differences and skip such terribly written content. Finishing each project in 30 days and cashing in all the money isn't making you a better actor. Rakul Preet is in the film just as she is the girlfriend of the producer man.
Overall, I would urge people to watch the original and skip this pathetic remake. Watch it only if you want to see a brilliant script get messed up, bundled with terrible performances and a saathiya song , where actors wearing gucci clothes and dancing weirdly in a crime mystery thriller. An obnoxious film, man seriously.
