Sometimes the best gift is the gift of never seeing you again
That cracked the hell out of me LOL XDD
This episode - I fear - will be the last punch The Flash can take. With Tom and Carlos gone... it's just not what it used to be.
The best thing about this storyline was Michelle Harrison as Nora/Speed Force and Bashir/Psych with his sassy attitude otherwise this story was immensely weak and overall ridiculous. It's hard for me to admit because The Flash used to be one of my favorite shows and I looked forward to seeing the episodes weekly but now I save them up to watch while I'm doing something else. It's going down fast.
See... this show is so much better with a Wells on board and now Frost is gone too and soon Cisco... what will remain. I do not like it becoming more and more of an Iris show. It's the Flash, not Iris AND the Flash. This plot is too ridiculous. These forces being treated as the children of Barry and Iris... yuck. Too weird too if you think about it. The speed force - a child of B&I and sibling of the other forces - shown as Nora - the deceased mother of Barry - just weird. I do however truly like Michelle Harrison coming back as Nora and in this version where she is sort of a villain. I like it but the story itself... so weird, so ridiculous... it's as if the writers got a masterclass in writing from the writers of Riverdale.
Again Iris getting too much screen/story time. They are going the way of Supergirl and giving side characters too much. The show is called The Flash for a reason... dont ruin this.
another wasted 40 minutes of my life. I wish I was the kind of person to leave shows half way.
"My name is Barry 'pep talk Allen' and I'm the most emotional speedster alive. When I was a child I saw my mother being discouraged by people. My father went to the psychologist for being depressed. Then an 'I'll go talk to her' made me a pep talk deliverer. To the outside world I'm an ordinary talker, but secretly I use my power to feel sorry for myself and encourage others like me. And one day, I'll find the one who made my team depressed and get a spot to give Ted Talks. I am the pep talker"
I have no proof, but I'm pretty sure this episode just broke the record of most pep talks in 42 minutes.
There were so many that I feel bad for not being given one. At this point, I'm pretty sure that Barry's new Speedforce will be created by the power of pep talks. That's gotta be the opposite of the negative Speedforce, right?
At first I was a little bit confused as to why everyone acted like they didn't know Hartley was gay. I mean, we were told back in season 1 so, he having a right-hand man, 1 + 1.
The Atlantis name drop got me excited, until I realized that the finale is next week and they'll probably send just Cisco on a side quest and we'll get to see none of that.
I'm disappointed that Camila's only defining feature is that she loves Cisco very much. After months working together, I would've thought that Iris and Camila were closer.
I loved how Nash was beginning to explain Crisis to Hartley and Barry just stopped him with a "He's his twin". I also loved the subtle hawkgirl reference with the "barista".
Now, that "the one who sent me wants infinite velocity", was it me or did it sound like a Zoom thing? Maybe I'm overthinking it but wouldn't it be great that Zoom and Reserve Flash had made an alliance and were working together sending clones of Godspeed to steal Barry's almost non-existent speed? First, it was Godspeed stealing the other Godspeed's velocity and kidnapping a bunch of innocent people and then, he tried to kill one of them with Thawne's helicopter hand. Or maybe that "We" just means the real Godspeed. But it would be great to have both working together, especially if RF is played by Matt Letscher.
Moreover, since Jay was the one who taught Barry how to throw lightning in season 2 and we've seen in this episode that Barry threw a lightning in season 1, maybe that means that he learnt it from another source and that maybe Zoom didn't actually come to earth prime because he wasn't the one who taught him. Again, I might be thinking too much into that, or I might be confused, who knows anymore?
Another question, how the hell did Barry find Joe when he was in witness protection? If he weren't losing his speed, it would be believable that he stopped and had a peak through every window to check if he was there. That was a very random Joe cameo.
Is this bitch seriously comparing Barry's parents getting brutally murdered by Reverse Flash and Zoom to her dad going into witness protection? For god's sake. Ugh. I know this isn't "real" Iris but it definitely feels like something she would do. LOL
Mirror mirror on the wall, please keep Iris because she annoys us all.
Holy Hell, I didn't expect Lucifer to make an appearance!!! Made my week!!
I stopped watching Black Lightning after season 1 but he his acting chops were above most of the characters in these episodes (together with some others).
The scenes between Batwamen and Supergurl were a pain to watch, even if she has that red lipstick on her (which is often smudged).
At least Iris is dead and Barry didn't even mention it
Three things:
I'm not sure if I'm going to pick up the sixth season because frankly, I'm growing ever tired of enduring something this lackluster season after season. Maybe they'll surprise me and actually pull off something amazing next season, or maybe they'll continue to be oblivious to the fact that this show has so much to offer when not limited by the lack of creative imagination on part of its show-runners.
I guess we'll see.
Poorly executed twist.
You could see it from a mile away.
And I truly hope, they already thought of one hell of an explanation to why the f*** anyone is still alive after that assault.
The only one she killed was the one that was the least logical target.
Aside from the fact, that you can't just kill of the entire cast of a show (Except you're doing Fear the Walking dead...) there is no reason for them being alive.
She clearly outgunned them by far and was in no danger herself.
So why not just kill them?
If the viewer doesn't know the motivation of a villain the writers usually didn't think of one by the time they finished writing the Episode. Especially in a show like this, where you get 2 Million hints and then have 3 characters explain it to you like your a child in 95% of all cases...
Hard to believe there's anyone that didn't see that "twist" from a mile away. Except for the fact that she was an adult, and like Excess, also from the future, although there have been hints of that since about 4 episodes ago. Hopefully Thawne has something good up his sleeve to make this all go down better.
Barry's second speech wasn't bad, but of course he revealed his identity to Cicada. Over the years I've seen all kinds of memes that all make fun of Barry compulsively revealing his secret to every stranger he meets.
I enjoyed the Joe/Cecille bits. By contrast, the Nora/Iris stuff felt kinda hollow, esp Nora's idea of compiling that speech by looking at his other speeches.
Season six is getting a new showrunner-- after a rather lackluster season 4-5 I'm happy about that.
HOLY F*#$!!! Now THIS is a season opener! And not just ANY season opener, this is a REAL "Suits" season opener!! This isn't anything like the crap of last season, noooooo. This was about the team coming together to fight something seemingly insurmountable for one of their own; and with outcomes similar to what made this show so great in the first place. It takes off in the very first scene that all of the original cast members (who are left) come together. The writing in that scene alone shows that we're back from the abyss of the last season. They didn't even need to rely on gratuitously using the effingheimer and other blue terms like they did last season, they actually beeped out the three times it was used but the excellent writing easily carried it without a problem. The show is back to its true form and I like it!!!
I found the whole exchange about how 'the punishment should fit the crime' completely hilarious. If there was any scene that summed up Saul Goodman perfectly, that was it.
