That really was a great series finale. It was in a different tone as the rest of the series, but with lots of bits of callbacks. I'm particularly glad that the show has wrapped up peacefully without being randomly cancelled in the middle of nowhere.
I was super skeptical how they were going to bring Cary and Brooke back down to Earth in a single episode, but this season finale offered a fantastic amount of closure for both of them:
I liked that Cary reached rock bottom and finally got a much needed reality check. And the reconciliation with Curtis was great and realistic, it validates Curtis's feelings and mistrust in Cary while also giving us a hopeful ending.
The Brooke storyline ended perfectly. It was great that she sacrificed herself for her family. I also appreciated the developments of Lance - him being a little less pure was actually a good choice, and he isn’t fully innocent in their relationship failing. "So it's good... to be bad? (Brooke looks at the camera)" - I loved the post credit scene with Brooke, breaking the 4th wall done good.
I like Pat wanting go get dinner with her kids. Such a throwback. Also, I like how they wrapped up the Lucas storyline cleanly too.
The Other Two is one of the best satires poking fun at the real life absurdity of the entertainment industry. I'll miss this show and its unique humor. Definitely one of the funniest shows ever made
"Is it...terrifying?"
"No. I don't think so. It's the way it is, you know? Everything must come to an end, the drip finally stops."
"...See you on the other side."
"Oh Bojack, no. There is no other side. This is it."
I don't really know what to say about this show. I'm gonna try, anyway.
This is one of the most hilarious and most depressing things ever. You want to call it a comedy, because of the witty and funny dialogue, but you can't, because each episode has one idea, one subtle but major lesson for the viewers. Maybe it's a brilliantly constructed campaign for feminism, maybe it is a brilliant look at dementia, or suicide, or drinking. There is always a constant though - it is brilliant.
One of the biggest standouts for this show is its characters. Just the five main characters are some of the best I've ever seen - Todd, Princess Carolyn, Mr Peanutbutter, Diane and of course, Bojack Horseman. All five are broken in some way (some much more in others), and it's so engaging to watch how these people deal with highs, lows, and how they change/don't change. Bojack Horseman himself is hands down the most interesting character I've ever seen in television - you can't agree with his actions, and you want to hate him for his worst moments, but you can't help but root for him and his ability to change. And he does - and doesn't.
While the first six episodes aren't that great, the rest of the series (and I mean the rest) is absolutely the best stuff out there. In my opinion, the seventh episode is where things really start, and if you watch the eighth episode, The Telescope, and you still don't like this series, then this probably isn't your thing.
If you are willing to watch through some of the most depressing, yet astounding, episodes ever, this is the show for you. I think that really everyone needs to see this, if they are willing.
(Also just a quick seasonal ranking - 4>6>5=3>2>>1)
Oh, Schitt’s Creek. I’m so glad I stumbled upon you when I did.
Such a magical show with a magical cast. Heart and soul. And all the humor a person could need. Moira Rose is one of the best television characters, ever. Catherine O’Hara is a Queen. Annie Murphy is a treasure. Eugene Levy is a legend. And Dan Levy is a genius.
A series that TRULY went out on top. Thank you for everything.
lol, this is worse than original ending. It's like they were going for season 2 and then halfway through the shooting of last episode it got cancelled so they finished the entire story in 20 mins.
Why would Dexter kill Logan when Angela's theory for him to be BHB rested on finding some needle marks and ketamine on some junkies. And he could've claimed Kurt set him up because he found Kurt's bunker. This makes no sense.
"Dexter: New Blood showrunner and screenwriter Clyde Phillips teased in a new interview that the finale of the continuation series will "blow up the internet" when it airs." "It is, I personally think, the best thing I've written."
A lot of things in this episode doesn't make sense also I don't mind killing Dex at the end but serving very dissapointing ending TWICE, wow what an achievement... They make fool out of me, again. What now? Season two and Dex will be a ghost, like Harry? Please, don't.
This show is just adorable in many ways, for sure it's one of the best things to let your kids watch
Also I think the plot may be an allegory of parents kicking out a kid from home because of their sexuality. It makes the show even more important for queer youth, it sends a message that they never gonna be alone
You have to go in expecting it to be a bit silly and it doesnt have the most talented editor but if you can get past that then you'll find fucking salvation!!! Imagine supernatural if it wasnt a homophobic, misogynistic, racist fuck up of a show. With actually funny as hell lines and great actors!! watch this, its really worth it!
nothing like his father huh? just shot dead for no reason. the show was good until the ending. just let dexter run to cali and start a new season!!!!! dumb writer.
Really wanna give it less than the minimum 1 star. This was atrocious. How ironic the whole intent of this series was to fix the “ending” and wound up being far worse than the original finale. This was gut wrenching, not because of anything happening on screen, but because of how ill conceived and unprepared this whole thing felt. The entire season was a letdown but this finale was the nail in the coffin. Goodbye Dexter Morgan, you deserved better.
Considering the high ratings of some reviewers - I persisted.
But a messy plot (albeit with strong sub-stories) combined with the trendy ending that doesn't answer any questions means I won't be investing more time in this series. Disappointing.
I can only think of a handful of TV shows that have BLOWN ME AWAY like this every damn week.
Definitely the best TV show to premiere this year so far, and i'm so glad it was already renewed for a Season 2! I still feel like people are sleeping on Pose. Wake the hell up everybody! Great themes, great dialogues and show-stopping acting.
Give Dominique Jackson and MJ Rodriguez all the Emmys they deserve.
my dudes, i'm not gonna lie, it felt like 50 minutes of free therapy (well, almost free)
loved it. (also, why is the date on trakt set on december 7, did I have a whole ass trip and imagined the first part?)
Ok, even though we were the bad guys, I must say I LOVED all the Brazil references :P
And THANK YOU, YES, WE ARE AN ISLAND OF PORTUGUESE SPEAKERS IN A SEA OF SPANISH SO THANK YOU FOR GETTING THAT RIGHT LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH BYE
This show ruined television for me. Any other show and all I can think is Why am I not watching BoJack instead? It took me about half a season to start enjoying it, but once it hit me, it hit me like a long, hard kick in the urethra. Really, this is the only TV show that regularly brings tears to my eyes. I've become completely obsessed with it.
The CW network attempts to simulate mystery with depth, unfortunately it didn't work. Bad teen dramas are bad teen dramas, but, at least the kids get to practice acting — maybe with luck they’ll even get skilled at it... or be in something with talented writers. If not, they'll wind up as yesteryear's teen actors playing parents, teachers, coaches and law enforcement officers in future mediocre CW teen dramas like the token adults in "Riverdale".
I assumed Patrick had had a girlfriend at one point, but I wasn't expecting a fiancee! And yeah, this show is totally trying to make us cry (and succeeding in it): first the serenade, now the "You make me feel right, David" line... I'm so glad I found this show :)
oh absolutely.
5/5 a total masterpiece fuck the gossip!
This was fun and doesn’t deserve all the unnecessary criticism it’s getting. I mean I’m assuming most of us here have seen Riverdale and many of Netflix their other teen drama’s. We knew exactly the quality that we were signing up for. I do have to admit it disappointed me a little in it’s lack of romance and developing the actual relationship between Cal and Juliette but other than that I really don’t understand why people are so insistent on hating this.
What another spectacular. The second time was definitely not a charm. This ending was terrible!
Why did they even bother showing Batista again?
A show notorious for an awful ending comes back from the dead and has an even worse second ending. I need to rewatch the old seasons to wash the taste of awful out of my mouth.
Most stupid finale I've ever seen
Another terrible finale. Clyde Phillips can suck it.
Very frustrating, frustratingly frustrating.
Dexter, being a Blood spatter and forensics dude would have known about pins and they have their own serial number, hell, even I know that, and I know and Dex would have known that and seen the scar as an indicator that Matt had surgery while doing his slicing and dicing. And every man and dog knows these are made of titanium and don't melt.
I don't know... I'm pretty disappointed at the moment and not sure about the whole lot now.
Then the second Cameo... what the hell was that all for?
Yep, disappointed.
I need DEXTER Morgan.
Wow, the best episode of this season so far…
"I don't need Jim. I need Dexter Morgan."
Well, in my opinion, this is the best episode so far. Can't wait for the next episode.
Up until episode 7 felt like filler episodes. This episode is what Rick and Morty is supposed to be.
I’m so over the president character and his fight with Rick is well over done
That opening scene was one of the most powerful things this amazing program has ever produced. I continue to be impressed by where this show goes.
