HOLY. SHIT. LOVE THIS MOVIE. I went into this thing knowing only that it was by "the Hell or High Water guy" and that it was in the 80s on RT. That's it. 10 minutes in I leaned over to my friend and said, "This movie is AWESOME." And guess what? It stayed that way the entire running time. It could have kept on going and going and going. Jeremy Renner, best role. Elizabeth Olsen, fucking spectacular. Hmm, maybe I should rewatch Hurt Locker to say best role, but lemme tell ya they all crush crush crush it. See! This! Movie!!
Yeah, this is a great movie. And not just for children, there are lots of jokes in it for adults to make it entertaining.
Quite possibly the most comedic Disney animation. Yzma and Kronk are such a comical duo, definitely watch this movie if you need a good giggle. Very underrated too!
This is in my top five "comfort food" movies list. It's almost impossible for me to watch this and not have a bad day get at least a little bit better.
"He wouldn't be able to find pussy in a whorehouse."
Even better on a second watch. It has a way of sucking me in, the runtime passes by so quick. Drive is a perfect mix of thrills, suspence, drama and emotion with themes of loneliness, finding meaning and masculinity. Silence means more than words with Ryan Gosling here, his performance is all in the body language and he freakin nails it. Every interaction he gets with Irene, Shannon, Standard and Benicio bring something relevant to building up the character. Great chemistry with Carey Mulligan who's another standout. It's a very stylish good looking movie with sleek camerawork and editing. The score and soundtrack is perfection. Epic well-thought out car chases, thrilling action, bloody and brutal, and some truly heartbreaking moments.
That face mask is creepy as hell
Probably one of the best starting points if you want to get into arthouse cinema.
You’re getting a fairly basic, straightforward genre film balancing crime, thriller, drama and romance, combined with the arthouse sensibilities of NWR. So it’s not trying to be Fast and Furious, but it’s a well written movie with a strong emotional core. Familiar ideas that are clearly inspired by the films of the 70s (such as Taxi Driver), but they don't feel familiar because of how they're presented. Aesthetically, however, this movie is much more inspired by the decade that came after that, and it’s easily its biggest selling point. The cinematography is extremely well done, and the score is terrific. This movie revived synthwave before it started to dominate in popular music again and it inspired the soundtrack of films like It Follows and The Guest.
The acting’s superb and the choices made by the actors inform a lot about the characters, tension is constantly building, honestly I don’t see how anyone could find it boring or slow. If you can appreciate filmmaking, acting and creativity, and don't need commercial bombast to create an artificial sense of story movement, you'll probably like this. It doesn’t quite have the depth to warrant a 10, but it’s pretty close.
9/10
I´ve seen Jurassic Park a couple times over the years and I´m always amazed how well this stands up to to later movies. This never looked old, not 10 years after, not 20 years after it was made.
Original classic.
Still the best in the franchise. The movie is all about those practical effects. They're so timeless that even years later it's watchable. Can't say the same for the other ones. Especially in the last two, the relience on CGI makes them worse than they really are.
"What kinda sick fuck gets turned on watching a guy fuck a donkey?"
There are so many great moments in this movie. The donkey show, the Lord of the Rings rant, "ass to mouth", porch monkeys 4 life, the ABC dance, and Jay's Goodbye Horses dance. This is constantly funny and the quotable. And there are a lot of great callbacks to previous movies.
"Sequels suck! Oh please, please! By definition alone, sequels are inferior films!" (Randy Meeks Scream 2 (1997))
This is one of those, friends always ask Have you seen Films? So it was put into my list of Films to watch before I die.
Halfway through and I've got Laughter tears running down my cheek.
I have now put this in my Unicorn Film list, a list of sequals equal to or better than the First, Aliens (1986), Spider-Man 2 (2004), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) to name a few . Bloody Brilliant ! Now I hope Clerks III is up to task.
This movie starts off a little slow, introducing new and old characters, but after the first 15 minutes becomes instantly hilarious with one great conversation after another. As far as dialogue goes, there isn't a funnier movie out there.
Know how I know you're gay?? Cause you're on trakt
Do you feel that?? Ohhhhhhhhhh shit.. wah-ah-ah-ah..wah-ah-ah-aaahhh..Get up, come on get down with the sickness..Open up your hate and let it flow into me
30 floors of absolute hell and pure martial arts, nothing else. I loved it, and creative fighting scenes
Simple plot, brutal action sequences, stylised choreographed fights. What more could you want ? The initial part of the film is tense and exciting and the action sequences are all beautifully choreographed and edited. That being said, the film does being to suffer a little in the final part as fatigue over the relentless action begins to set in. The director seems to realise this as the film is quite short but including some twists into a plot which was barely there in the first place seems superfluous and a little forced. Still entertaining though, but lets hope the sequel just doesn't repeat the formula.
Holy shit, I forgot how great this movie is. Taye Diggs and Anthony Anderson absolutely kill it
Quasi is another installment of Broken Lizards comedy selection that shares some of the same style gags, but without being annoying. I enjoyed this film as it made me laugh, and had the cast and humor that brings me to a happy place.
if you like their other movies, get ready for something new yet familiar, while still fun.
Sean Bean didn't die this time.
One of Cage's best, great film.
Entertaining enough almost three hours of disaster and cheesy dialogues. I liked it.
Light and breezy rom-com with delightful cast. Worth a viewing even for non-golf fans.
most realistic military movie ever, everyone who served will recognise the experience
It would be easier if this was added to Season 24, the same for the Post-Covid original, even if they're Paramount+ exclusives.
It would be easier if it was Season 24 Episode 3 and 4
My favorite movie of all time
I liked it back then and I still do today.
Not sure why everybody is so excited about this movie. The detective part was much weaker than in the first movie, and the rest is just a typical Netflix annoying propaganda.
The detective is gay now, of course. The main villain is a white male, of course. The most brutal guy (Batista) is a sissy mama's boy, of course. And the smartest, bravest, strong and independent hero is a black woman, of course. So tired of this Netflix crap.
Just before you making her a hero in your eyes remember that just for the sake of vengeance she burned the original Mona Lisa painting without any doubt, which one of the most precious art heritage of our civilization.
It doesn't matter how many times I watch this film, I still laugh every single time. Stupid spoof films are my jam.
