Easily one of the most uncomfortable watches of the year. A test on your patience, empathy and digestion capabilities. Such a personal story, straddling a very red line that divides trauma and unnerving the viewer. Undecisive about whether liking it or not, but I applaud the boldness.
If Stephen King and Steven Spielberg had a baby, this is EXACTLY what it would look it.
Hell Camp (2023) was a netflix documentary about this same issue but it only focused on 80s and tried to show abusers as good guys.
This one is really well made and shows how much victims are still suffering AND these evil people getting away with all. It was so genuine and real. I feel sorry for all the victims and once again mad at american justice system. Keep fighting!
The show, seen as a comedy, is gorgeous. If you're taking it seriously, drop it, it's not your series.
PS: Emma Roberts SLAYS the role.
So far im really enjoying it although the guy is a bit of a loser, he should have put a bottle over the rapists head and pushed fat arse into the canal.
So fucking painful to watch.
Almost done with it as I'm writing this, and I want to finish it, but shit, it's really hard.
And good. Very good.
sigh i miss forever :(
love,love,love better renew 4 to 5 seasons
When did the Aussies start making great tv like this? With zombies, love triangles, murder, mystery and drama, it delivers a great story with minimal special affects. Well worth a watch.
(Initial, and final, Impression) For someone who "discovered" the school library in sixth grade and then read all the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys novels they had in that same year, I was hoping for more. The writing for this series is bad. Aging up Nancy and her crew may have opened the door for the gratuitous sexual content but there was no reciprocal mature dialogue or adult social dynamics in this series. The interactions are juvenile. Just a big disappointment. Because I don't hold out hope that this series will get any better than this premiere, I'm giving it a 3 (bad) out of 10 and abandoning the series. [Mystery]
This is surprisingly good - it does take a bit of time to follow the timeline jumps but well worth the effort.
Absolutely heartbreaking. Beautifully played by all and very much worth a watch. It's because of the acting and the attachment to the characters you will probably have as a result, that you might feel a sense of loss as the series draws to an end. I know I did.
Why did it have to turn supernatural...?
The Nancy Drew names bared the potential of a good detective story... Instead we got a poorly written ghost story!
What a strange show, but oddly enough couldn't stop watching. Quite funny at times.
Don't know what every muppet is complaining about. This show is superb and it ain't full of woke shit,it's one of the best shows to hit our screens in the last few years.
This made me laugh out loud multiple times. Soundtrack is a banger and the cast is entirely endearing. Yeah, the characters have moments where they're not perfect but the show would be completely irresponsible and sugar coated if these women were written as perfect beings. The girl power and female friendship dynamics that are rooted in childhood and trauma is so real. I can't wait for season 2.
It is insane this show is not more popular. This was a FUCKING TREAT to watch. Holy shit, what a great job everyone did on this.
Edit: They've kept the quality up for all 3 seasons. This is such a fun show to watch, and I bet they've had fun doing all the crazy stuff in it. Hopefully they do more, but I'd also kinda want them not to milk it too much.
It's basically a Scary Movie x Mean Girls kinda show. If you're into that, then this show is for you!
It’s rare that a show makes me cry, and it’s rare that a show makes me want to rewatch it the second I’ve finished it. This show is both of those for me and I’m so happy it exists.
honestly one of the most binge-worthy and fun shows i've seen in a while. the twists and turns kept me on my toes and the characters were all quite unique and i constantly wanted to know more about them. the storyline with the kids was definitely least interesting, but everything else was incredible. is it a show that gets a bit ridiculous at times? hell yes. but that's what makes it so so good! the ending was one of the most satisfying i've ever seen! everything really got wrapped up and came together so well. so pleased with this series as a whole.
This is a very beautiful miniseries. We're still suffering from COVID, so doing a series about a virus that creates a post apocalyptic world seems too soon, but this is the show I think a lot of us need right now. It reminds us how people try to create art in a world that no longer makes sense. Amazing visuals from Hiro Murai and his team, but also kudos the maestro behind it all, Patrick Somerville who has once again given us an amazing and wild limited series (he did Maniac too!). Performance wise, I think Matilda Lawler deserves some recognition for playing a kid who's confronted with a mature situation and just speaking volumes with the most minor of facial expressions. And of course Himesh Patel in one astounding supporting performance (his whole arc with Lawler are some of the most warm moments I've seen on TV). And Danielle Deadwyler deserves some recognition too for her small but powerful bits as the creator of the world these characters become obsessed with. Oh and get Mackenzie Davis some Emmy love since she was ignored for all those great years on Halt and Catch Fire.
Pretty good show with some twists right up until the end. 8/10
Hilarious with perfectly bitchy performances by Emma Roberts and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Mostly an homage to homages like Shaun of the Dead. Fun enough, but also another sad reminder of all the 2019 content that was cut short in 2020.
Katie is ridiculously emotionally intelligent for her age.
I must say that I liked this series quite a lot and it's very unfortunate that it has not been renewed after its second season.
Good chapter in the (unfortunately) not yet written book of "Why the world needs Phoebe Waller-Bridge?"
Season 3 was good. Liked it more than others
