Christmas Bloody Christmas

Interesting fucking premise (were it not --stolen-- influenced from Futurama) if it weren't fucking ruined by constant annoying dialogue where everyone has to up the other with juvenile fucking curses and sexual fucking conversations only fucking brewksie bros would fucking have during a goddamn fucking keg party. I can live with the fucking neon look of the fucking thing but a buck toothed foul mouthed crack whore drenched in neon Christmas lights and fucking glow in the dark fucking glitter would fucking have a better chance of fucking making me enjoy the moment more than this.

FUCK

Candy Land

This movie has no substance, no plot and no discernable reason of existing. It might be great for people who never saw any other horror or slasher movie but if you have a couple of classics behind your belt this film offers nothing.

The sex-scenes are cheap, the shock value minimal, the comments on religion lame and played out, gore is basic, the mystery barely there.

The only thing is has going for are the parallels between the film and it's subject matter: Truckstop crack-whores who'll give you a "good time" simply and only cause you haven't gotten any for weeks but ultimately leaves you with gonorrhea and a bad case of the runs.

What a dreadful show.

Only Ted and the Mom are bearable.

ted: 1x02 My Two Dads

Episode two of an obnoxious out of place bitch yelling at everyone and being yelled by other assholes surrounded by a bunch of assholes in a anachronistic 90s. Not my idea of a comedy.

At least it had some A-Team in it.

Bosch: Legacy: 2x10 A Step Ahead

So, was there a clue in the previous episodes as to why Mo Bassi knew she was an FBI Agent? Since he entered the autodelete on the drive and other precautions he must have either suspected or be paranoid enough to suspect the possibility. But if he suspected it why go along with the charade and get involved? Was it just all for that sweet sweet pussy (being upset about going into the friendzone seems to indicate as such).

The seasons wrapped up too nicely for all involved - except for that cliffhanger but we know why that's there.

Warriors of Future

Dreadfully soulless and bland with characters I don't care about and events that are just passing me by. The English dubbed version isn't helped by the audio being "off screen" and emotionally void.

Doom Patrol: 4x08 Fame Patrol

Was it always this goddamn boring?

Archer: 14x08 Breaking Fabian

That was the series finale? Guess the creators didn't care either.

Or they're probably going to make a final movie then I guess?

Archer: 14x03 Plaque Removal

This season is going exactly the way I expected it to go. BIG YAWN

Futurama: 8x07 Rage Against the Vaccine

The humor of this show seems to have left the building, probably because the world itself has become a joke.

Outlander: 7x07 A Practical Guide for Time-Travelers

I prefer to keep my memories of "In the air tonight" fixed as two badasses loading a shotgun in a car rather than Roger banging dear old Bree after she changed the subject by using sex thankyouverymuch!

The Blacklist: 10x22 Raymond Reddington: Good Night (2)

I appreciate the sentiment they were trying to convey at the end but...

I think this is one of those cases where NOT showing it would have been all the more poignant. Have Reddington face off with the bull and cut to black. And end it there. Maybe - VERY MAYBE - add a small eulogy at the end with the team talking about him or switch it with Zuma's excellent scene in the bed. Don't show us his "mangled" and contorted body and have Ressler call Cooper to mention "he got him". That's just wrong. Disrespectful to the characters and the 10 years.

Still not the worst ending of a series though.

The Righteous Gemstones: 3x03 For Their Nakedness Is Your Own Nakedness

LOL! They used a song from A Serbian Film soundtrack for one of their scenes.

Manifest: 4x20 Final Boarding

So the smoke monster from Lost pops up in this show... as show about strangers that were on an airplane experiencing all kinds of weird 'n cookie shit.
Now how cool would it have been if they'd have connected the two (unless they did in some other way) and added to each others lore.

But I guess that was too clever for the showrunners, also copyright and that other nonsense.

Not the worst ending of a show but not the greatest either.

Padre Pio

I solely watched this film because it apparently was an eye-opener for LaBeouf making him convert to Catholicism and it became clear pretty fast that he probably was playing in a movie of his own.

What we got instead is a bleak, dark, depressing and, even more so, boring thesis about socialism and communism with some smidges of LaBeouf sprinkled through it. I'm watching for Padre Pio, not some class struggle between dirty peasants with broken accents and the elite and their cronies with broken accents.

The interesting parts with LaBeouf are short and almost meaningless. There probably is some correlation between these segments and the rest of this snoozefest but a little before halfway I already had no further interest in the movie. Let alone trying to figure out what Ferrera was trying to say.

The Blacklist: 10x14 The Nowhere Bride

Quality seems to be a lot more amateuristic the past couple of episodes, especially on how it looks.

Undeclared War

Better acting would have saved this movie.

The Whale

Great, film, had me enthralled for the duration of the film and in tears many times.

I understand what the ending wants to convey but I wish they would have shot it a little bit different because all I could think about was he died and crushed her didn't he. He fell over... died... and crushed her.

Knock at the Cabin

Not as bad as I thought but definitely not as good as it could have been. Too meandering and slightly too preachy it ultimately fell flat into yet another nothing burger.
But...
it would have been hard to expect them to become the new Adam & --Eve-- Adam because... Well... that would either mean the destruction of mankind all over again or... Welp... A very awkward and ethically wrong situation indeed.

Mask of the Devil

This isn't a horror film, this is a comedy with a horror theme (albeit partially).

The movie takes ages to get anywhere, taking multiple detours to whatever the hell they were trying to achieve.
There's a massive amount of sound over all of the scenes, some layered so subtly in the background that I had to check whether or not it was coming from my speakers or outside. I'm sure the movie would have been worse with the dead of silence that was bound to be in the scenes but still. A wee bit too much.

When the movie finally starts around an hour you have got plenty of stupid humor and cringe and then it's still not going anywhere.

Tulsa King: 1x09 Happy Trails

Prime example why this show needs to be at least 45 minutes.
Two plotlines were handled way too quickly and could have been so much better with an extra few minutes.

Black Snow: 1x03 Ezekiel

Granted I wasn't a teenager in Australia in 1994 but people did NOT say "sus" back in those days. Come on writers...

Razzennest

This is not a movie, this is a podcast zoommeeting with a slideshow.
It breaks the fourth wall in such a way that this thing is an advertisement for itself, unfortunately the quality of acting and writing isn't up to snuff to make you believe that this supposed film is worth the watch. What's even worse: many of the characters and their interactions are annoying, the people are annoying, the voices are annoying. It's annoying.

Razzennest is like Blair Witch without the Witch, no it's not it's Razzennest without the Razzen (at least in Dutch slang): Nest (Crap).

I Hear the Trees Whispering

Badly made film that uses first person perspective to tell a mystery story. Unfortunately the audio used to accompany these visuals are so far away from what is actually happening that it's jarring. The lousy acting doesn't help either. 10 minutes from the end the movie ends in the most infuriating way only to continue as an actual movie with equally bad acting and writing.

There even is a short screen around the 1:12:19 mark that is the screen you get when you render stuff in After Effects but don't have the footage. I do not think this was intentional and if it was it's stupid nevertheless. I won't even mention the fact there's a moment telling us to buy "I hear the trees whispering" in a badly photoshopped article.

There could have been something here in both the story and the way it was made but the acting and writing aren't good enough to warrant this a view. Play the game Firewatch instead.

A Christmas Story Christmas

As someone who hates the original I had only bad expectations for this movie. Much to my surprise however it was a heartfelt, often funny film that handled callbacks very well. There was no annoying stuff like the original and brought back some of the magic of christmasfilms from yore. And that ending... nicely done. Nicely done indeed.

1899: 1x05 The Calling

So far this seems to be the Lost of the 2020's including but not limited to:
- waking up eyes
- strangers with secrets living together
- ticking clock spelling doom
- timey-wimey stuff
- deep basement-like structures
- mysterious outside force controlling it all + the tech to do it
- puzzles and hints wherever you can find them

But it has done in 5 episodes what Lost stretched out to 5 (and more) seasons.
Let's hope they stick the landing like they did with Dark.

American Horror Story: 11x04 Black Out

When are these episodes made anyways. This isn't the first time they create a series about a thing that's (kinda) going on.
Sure Cat Scratch Fever aint no Monkey Pox but still...

Anyways, better season (for now) than the 3 previous Apocalypse ones.

The Winchesters: 1x01 Pilot

Where Supernatural very much seems to be the Generation X of this franchise, this seems to be very much the Millennial spin off - set a generation before Sam & Dean.

Check an all inclusive barrage using stuff from the "later" seasons of Supernatural (such as the Men of Letters)
Going from point a to b to c to d to find and open the mystery box all while talking about feelings complete with quiet guitar music. The actual plot flies by but the scenes connecting them drag on relentlessly.

I saw someone call this the Scooby Doo version of Supernatural and after seeing the van I can agree with that. Except Scoobs and the gang didn't spend this much talking about their feelings. Sure, it's the pilot and time will tell but atm they'll have to step up their game to keep me interested - and I can't even guess how they will avoid 15 years of canon.
