Charming Indonesian film that starts off as a search for treasure, but ends up being a very Friday the 13th style slasher.
This one was a pretty good indie slasher. high kill count and pretty gruesome.
Clearly benefited from a larger budget with an increased population of Templars and villagers.
Not really, that great of a movie, but I gave it extra points for Ginger Lynn’s performance.
Wow. That was an intense film.
I wanted to like this more than I did. The first 2/3 were pretty good! However, the ball got dropped in the final act. Then the action slowed down to zero and the ball never got picked back up.
I am not much of a Marvel movie fan, although I did grow up reading the comic books. Despite all the action and special effects, I find the movies to be weak. The typical Marvel movie plot revolves around people struggling with deep internal issues and conflicts simultaneously trying to cope or control pressing exterior issues. Both sets of conflicts manage to get resolved during the four and a half hour action extravaganza battle at the end of the movie before the credits and post credit scenes.
While GoG,vol 3 doesn't deviate significantly from the formula, it hits in a powerful emotional spot. Aside from the action, the humor, a killer soundtrack taken from mix tapes I made, and after creating their version of a family in volume 2, the Guardians begin wrestling with the question of what makes a home. This is where the film was particularly effective as the characters struggle with naming difficult emotions and attempting to communicate with each other. Both Gamora and Mantis have scenes where they deliver lines with intense emotional wallop.
Emotional content aside, this movie has plenty of very intense action moments and sensitive people should consider checking doesthedogdie.com before watching it.
I gave this a 7 out of 10 because, even though it didn't offer anything new to the genre, it was a brutal ride. I would suggest sensitive viewers check out doesthedogdie.com starting on this journey. I added a point because of the killer soundtrack.
Bloody and sexy little Slasher from spain.
This was something else! Did not expect it to go so far out.
Panos Cosmatos will bend your brain. If you liked Mandy and Beyond the Black Rainbow, sit back and enjoy the show.
Not the worst movie I’ve ever scene Definitely the worst one this weekend.
Visually stunning with a kicking John Carpenter inspired '80s synthesizer soundtrack, however, I'm not at all sure what I want.
Despite being a wildly uneven film, I watched it all the way to the end! It’s a unique promise, a Jewish slasher film.
This was a fun vampire movie with a ton of callbacks to the source material.
I had very high hopes for this movie and felt they would be rewarded. The first 2/3 of the film are very interesting, especially as a delves into a modern version of the ancient Greek mythology around the Furies. However the movie failed to stick the landing.
There were a lot of things that I really liked, the scenes with the ghosts were pretty effective and some of the dialogue, when Rose completely unloads on her fiancé and her sister, was very well written.. The movie reminded me a lot of other films, like the best parts of It Follows and Ringu.
Buyer beware! This movie is beyond bad.
This movie is very long, almost 2 hours! Unfortunately, all of that time is not well spent. The film feels overlong, confusing and repetitious.
Great movie, mixing folklore with an urban environment. It is streaming on Shudder.
It was a terrifying yet fun thrill ride.
Intuit-Canadian sci-fi film on Shudder. I have to say that I really like this movie! The story and script were very good - I was very invested in the characters and their story. You could definitely play this for your younger nieces and nephews at movie time during family gatherings this holiday season.
Anyone else seen this? Holy quacamole! Much more horror than comedy. The level of creepy violence (kids self-harming enmasse, etc) matches the emotional violence as the families tear each other apart in soul-shearing confrontations.

Holy quacamole! Much more horror than comedy. The level of creepy violence (kids self-harming enmasse, senior citizens trying to beat each other death, etc) matches the emotional violence as the families tear each other apart in soul-shearing confrontations. Glad I caught it.
A terrifying and fun thrill ride from beginning to end.
Slow and confusing. Not quite sure what I watched.
Currently watching this Indonesian horror anthology. For fans of the criminally under seen Macabre, Dara (Shareefa Daanish), the elegant chainsaw wielding cannibal lady, makes her first appearance in one of the episodes.
Holy cow! This movie is bonkers! Bloody, scary, and a fascinating story to boot.
