Not the best film ever but pretty good for a cosy Sunday Night!
Pretty easy to watch and put you in a good mood :)
This one is completely successful. I was never bored, never sure what exactly was going on, or what was going to happen next.
Continuously interesting.
This is the only one so far that you could watch a second or third time and potentially get more out of it than the first.
Quirky, weird, absolutely no redeeming value whatsoever! I loved every minute.
cant understand the critics, i enjoyed it really much. tense, thrilling and great scenes + some fantastic element and a strong right fist!
Based on Greek Mythology, amazing soundtrack, this has everything. A Ten!
Just go watch it. It's on Amazon.
I went into it as cold as i could, only watching the trailer and was glad I did. Beautifully shot with a very clever plot and some of the most interesting characters, Border delivers many sublime moments that elevate it the cinematic heights, much like Let the Right One In (also based on a story by John Ajvide Lindqvist) was more than just a vampire movie.
Blind bought (no pun intended) the recently-released Blu-ray from Scream Factory and man, was I in for something. I had no prior knowledge that Hannibal Lecktor would make an appearance in this, but then it all unfolds into what would inspire the Hannibal TV series that I really admire.
An uneven, overstuffed yet still entertaining B-movie. This is a hilarious cross between a sloppy revenge thriller, a corny Hallmark Christmas film and a nasty splatter. One of the main problems of this film is that it suffers from trying to shove way too much. Overstuffed with sub-plots and flashback within flashback, interfering with the main plot. It reminds me of this film in terms of how overstuffed it is, though this is more competently made and generally more entertaining. There's too much going on in such a short runtime with a gory, shlocky splatter that comes in a little too late that I'm sure most people after watching the first 70mins will begin to worry. Thankfully, the third act ramps the fuck up and ultimately makes it a worthwhile watch.
Watched this movie last night and was completely blown. [/spoiler The movie opens with a priest ignoring his superiors and going ahead with an exorcism. The botched attempt results in the priest being burdened with a pretty horrific secret he will carry with him until his next encounter with the demon. Flash-forward and it is now the time the priest must (indeed) confront his demon(s).]
The movie looks and feels sinister. The audience should be surprised at how well the movie is acted and directed. The visuals are simply stunning. I recommend this highly. The film is rated "R" for disturbing images, and adult situations.
"Hardcore!"
I love this movie so much I bought the SD on Amazon Video because its the only format i can find. PUT THIS ON BLU RAY!!!! PLEASE!!!! ITS SO GREAT!!!
It's got WTF elements to it that make it a blast but also really cool auteur decisions made with the story and shooting style and suspense building that I'm legit impressed. Love.
Slightly disappointing considering the hype this film has received. Ironically, given the movie's concept, I struggled to stay awake. It wasn't a bad movie - there were flashes of brilliance - though it wasn't as gripping as it might have been.
anne francis stars in... forbidden planet
This movie was a fun ride. It could've been better. There was too many things going on, like they spliced 3 different movies together. It was nice to see the rock and roll guys.
As someone that LOVES hard rock music and gory movies, this one is right up my alley. Great soundtrack. Great cameos. Needless violence. All adds together to be a rather enjoyable, worth watching revenge flick. Admittedly, the plot is jumbled and tries to do far too much, but I had a good time with this one.
Rating: 3/5 - 7.5/10 - Worth Watching
I believe this is my second Uruguayan horror film and this was so much better than I could have expected. Suspenseful, stylish, entertaining, this is overall a solid virus/zombie outbreak film with a quite interesting twist, the infected needs a 32-second break to recharge after killing those not yet infected. The film looks fantastic with the cool overhead shots in the beginning, the red lights which dominate every scene, and it makes effective use of darkness to create a compelling atmosphere dripping with tension, with a great score to accompany it. A few zombie film cliches hurt this film a bit but the setting and the drama balance it out for me.
Good bit of 80s sleaze thriller across L.A. Susan Tyrell's eyebrows need their own movie
This isn't your typical 'Malaysian Horror' movie as it has international audiences as target written all over it. The story, visuals, screenplay and environment was simply amazing! Movie reminded me of the movie 'The Witch' a lot. To be honest this movie was deservedly nominated as the Malaysian's submission for Oscar. 8/10
It's a bit flat as a giallo, but it's got a lot of fun elements to prop it up. Most of that being Naschy as the burly cigar-chomping detective and his infectious relationship with his girlfriend, who's really the brains behind his braun. He's one of the best characters we've gotten in a movie like this, so I'd say it's a worthy addition to the genre.
Mildly creepy. Subtext is written in bold letters; very on-the-nose.
This had showed up in my youtube recs a bunch but I ignored it until this past Halloween season. I like a Found Footage horror if done right. This one mostly is. When they reveal too much it can be silly but that happens extremely rarely, I think twice for a total of 3 seconds in the whole thing. Also, the character who covers ALL of his clothes in tin foil I can see really taking people out of the movie for being so cheesy and it almost did me but I was able to mostly deal with it to the point that by the end I had come around on it. The guy is just SUCH a tortured psychic that he'll do anything to stop the voices. I kind of like that. Hard to say much more without giving away key plot moments that are better off left seen by the viewer themselves, but this is definitely worth your time. I want to see his genre-follow up Occult sooner than later.
What a blast! It's unique, over the top, quirky, campy, goofy, all I want in a horror movie! The idea's fun. I liked that it's intended to look like B movies, that cheesy goodness that I love and I crave!
