One of the best anti-war movies of all time. I was shaking and had heart racing the whole run-time.
One of the most memorable cinema-experiences I ever had. After the credits rolled, no one made a move for two minutes. Everyone sat quietly and thought about what they had seen. At one point early in the movie almost everyone had also stopped eating their popcorn.
Watch it in Cinema if you can. Watch it in german if you can. Watch it in german with subtitles if you must. Or wait for it's Netflix-Release. But watch "All Quiet on the Western Front" no matter what. And learn from it.
One of the most intense movies you'll ever see.
Mads Mikkelsen dancing and spinning around is one of the most beautiful cinematic moments in 2020
He's so good , great cast all around and a top notch movie
Secrets of Dumbledore improves on its weaker predessesor with a more nuanced Grindlewald performance from Mads Mikklesen, as well as a more focused narrative. There are some interesting set pieces here, as well as some surprisingly funny moments and some creative uses of magic that will entertain fans of the series. Unfortunately, it still suffers the faults of a directionless series that should never have extended beyond a single movie. Characters are left woefully undeveloped and plot developments from previous movies are brushed aside, although perhaps for the better. While it is a passable movie, it is unfortunately much too small a step in the right direction for a doomed series.
Very powerful movie! I don't need to repeat, what the other comments already pointed out.
The only 2 things I found a little bit weird, were 1st: that it seemd like nobody told Ruben, that his hearing will be different after the surgery. I don't think (or hope) that the doctors he probably talked to, wouldn't tell him that.
And 2nd, I feel like "Metal" as a genre, probably hasn't been handled fair here. I do not listen to Metal myself, but obviously for a lot of people it sounds just like "loud noise" which Ruben turns off at the end.
So metaphorically... Maybe that thought goes too far, but I feel, that metal as a genre was handled a little negative. Like these two only played Metal because they were hurt from the past and that they had to get out of it, to start living a normal life again. But still for the characters, as they were presented, I think storywise it worked and the journey they had, was resolved very very well.
But these really are the only issues I had. People should definetly watch it! Great movie! :)
Awful, just awful. I had to stop watching after maybe a half hour - it is that bad.
Oh come on.
Enough with this dinosaur / dog thing.
Enough with the crappy mutant dinosaurs.
I want to see real dinos that existed not some crappy mutant dino playing dog.
The premise and script of the movie are stupid as hell, dino animal lovers, greedy humans, laughable warlords buying soldiers/dinos. I guess the writers are 8 years old...
Although i like Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard the only good things are cgi and the last 5 min of the movie.
Enough said, bad movie not worthing more time of my life.
Maybe the experience is different if you're American and/or you have no prior knowledge of what was going on in Gitmo (we been knew), but this movie -- while not too bad -- was not as good as it could have been.
The script takes middle-of-the-road approach and never really goes for the jugular. Sure, we can call the onscreen depictions of torture "brave" but it's not like it is the first movie to do so. The tone was confusing, there was a lot of jokes for a story that's about inhumane torture. I don't know what function the dream scenes were supposed to perform in the movie, some of them were disorienting, which I suppose is intentional to demonstrate Mo's mental state, but I wonder if they were necessary at all.
The acting was great though, I have no misgivings about the acting. I've always liked Tahar Rahim, but the poor guy is really typecast in America, in Europe they trust him with roles that have nothing to do with his background, because he's just that good.
It was nice to watch a movie where I didn't need to use my brain. This was 100% predictable and you knew who the killer was as soon as you saw him on the screen. But I needed something where I didn't need to think tonight so this delivered perfectly.
The following quote appears at the very end of the credits, and (in case you didn't, already) I think you all should see it:
"We're all one thing, Lieutenant. That's what I've come to realize. Like cells in a body. 'Cept we can't see the body. The way fish can't see the ocean. And so we envy each other. Hurt each other. Hate each other. How silly is that? A heart cell hating a lung cell." - Cassie from THE THREE
Some say "Athena" has little substance in terms of Story. While this may be true, this didn't stop films like "The Raid" to be great either. Athena has strong imagery and an impressive 10 minute opening-"plan-séquence". Sadly it couldn't hold my attention the full runetime. Amazing camera-work too.
Outstanding performances from all four leads. Truly riveting drama.
I can't say I have ever seen anything quite like Everything Everywhere All at Once, a movie that is definitely true to its name. Do not do any homework on this one, just go and see it. It's hilarious, heartwarming, action-packed and absurd. It's one of those rare movies that bleed originality and leave you amazed at what movies can do.
I hate it when people use the term "career defining performance".
This is a career defining performance from our local boy done well. Such a well made film.
Movie mixes the concepts of remake, reboot and sequel together to deliver one single uniform experience. And for the most of it, it did quite well.
The original trilogy will always have a special place in our hearts (even though Reloaded was kinda bad) and I believe that's why Resurrections is being slapped so hard by press and fan-base alike. Haters will always gonna hate, trying to find the most illogical reasons to justify the spreading of their toxic opinions but the movie IS GOOD and definitely worth watching.
so, maybe i missed it, but did they ever mention how long they've been on Earth?
also, did the Lannisters send their regards?
It could be a very good movie. But it isn't. In the end you understand how powerful this movie could be and how poor it was made. Even The Human Centipede is better than this. Maybe it will serve as inspiration to others make a good movie.
The best Hitchcock film that Hitchcock never made.
I must admit that I watched it happily thinking it was Hitchcock and just how good it was, how it has more humour that other Hitchcock films and so on. I felt like a bit of a fool when I saw it wasn't.
The back and forth between Hepburn and Grant is excellent, what other film has Matthau, Kennedy an Coburn knocking around as well. It's really a classic film which honestly does deserve to be classified as both a comedy, a mystery, a thriller and a romance. The cinematography is first rate; that rooftop fight, the chase scenes. Everything carries the tension or humour.
The only small negative is for modern viewers people are too used to expecting twists and double crosses etc. Everyone expects everyone to be in on a scheme. However that's your fault not the movies.
The previews made it look like a female 007... but after 35 mins I had switch it off. Dialogue and stupid scenarios ruined it from the get-go. Yes I was prepared to disengage logic within reason, but to completely disregard gravity and physics is pretty hard.
One example (not a spoiler) how the hell did she 'dispose' of 6 bodies in 30 seconds?
0/10
The dance scene in opening credits might be my favorite opening credit scene ever. The rest of the movie is pretty boring, especially Colin Farrell as Jake, even though the concept of an android used to assist in parenting would be cool if done right.
An extremely fun and well paced movie with a great ensemble cast. Glass Onion follows a similar format to the first film but it is definitely not a just copy and paste. My favorite part was the first act which hooked me into the movie right away.
Once they reach Miles's house, however, the movie unfolds in a relatively simple manner compared to the first film and the ending is not fully satisfying.
I would have really loved an actual murder mystery, not some fake murder mystery game that was solved immediately. And Miles was implied as Duke's murderer way to early on.
The original movie was bleak and violent; Sobel's movie is softer in approach. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but you won't get the same emotional experience with this one.
I really enjoyed this slow burning mystery. It built suspense well, and while it did feel a bit dragged out the payoff at the end was great. The lead was especially excellent. Looking forward to what comes next from the creators of this.
wow that was really really boring. i guess its the movie with the least amount of dinosaurs.
An easily forgettable, watered-down version of "Emma", that couldn't hold a candle to its latest (2020) adaptation... Which is in a wholly different league. As someone already commented, they also tried to go the "Bridgerton" route, but the end result was indeed a poor imitation of its way sassier, glitzier source of inspiration.
Such a visually stunning film. This is a haunting, dreamy and mysterious folk horror/revenge tale unpacking past trauma through images that witness fragments of the past violence blurred into nightmare. It starts off really slow before transforming into something hypnotic and surreal with imagery that are still running through my mind. Definitely not a scary film but the way it at times swings between arthouse and nonsensical is just so delightful and Alice Krige is more than stunning in her performance.
I seriously can't believe all the positive reviews of this. So many plot holes and dumb moves by every character. The killer could have been stopped SO many times so easily, by the main characters and the police. A big disappointment, don't waste your time.
I'm a huge Disney lover, but this is absolutely the worst Disney movie ever made...
I didn't read too much going into this movie, and I'm really glad I didn't. This movie was just an amazing journey to watch.
The opening sequence automatically caught my attention, just watching him build that set, and watching it slowly come to life to tell us this fantastic family story. I also loved how it was narrated by the grandmother, it added so much to the atmosphere. I really felt like I was getting this story told by my own grandmother.
I won't say much about the story but it was really interesting, and it just keeps you glued to the screen, wanting to know what happens next. It was also told in such a charming way that it got a few laughs from me, but also tears. The little interactions that the director had the with the set, and with his dad was also just so amazing that it stuck with me. It's nothing groundbreaking but such a nice tiny detail for you to remember.
Would recommend this movie for anyone to watch, if you don't mind mentions of war, and some other sensitive topics.
Boring. Just over the half of the movie and I don’t care of any of the character, I’m not interest of the plot and I don’ t understand what the movie want to tell. Worst marvel movie ever seen
we liked the tone, the setting and we were amazed by the sound effects. 1 post-credits scene
