The Big Bang Theory: Season 8

I think the season was great, I don't really understand why everybody aren't happy about it. I guess not all the viewers can accept the evolution of the characters and the way life may change things, but as a show aimed for some socially-challenged people, I think the show is doing a great job at showing that even people like Sheldon have feelings and can have meaningful and constantly evolving relationships. And if some of the viewers don't have it yet - well, it took the people on the show almost 10 years to get there, so there's hope for everyone out there! I love it and I'm sure soon enough I'll have a rewatch of the whole thing :)

The Big Bang Theory: Season 10

Unlike many others - I love this show and it doesn't change with time! I never want it to end, I'm fine with watching Bernie and Howard becoming grandparents! The relationships shown great here. And it's only good that the nerds with no chances with women mostly got it together - that's life at its best and that's a great thing to watch. The jokes are still good and this is probably the best sitcom ever.

The Terror: Season 1

I was so blown away by this; I keep having it in my thoughts a day after I finished (and it's a rare thing nowadays, to be honest). I'll probably read the book now for the full experience. The slowly crippling horror and despair, how people cut down by the inevitable, and how they cope with being left to die - it's so overwhelming with real, raw emotions. The mix between the real and the somewhat unreal (the Tuunbaq, but what do we know about these distant and mostly inhabited realms?) creates a chilling experience.
Once I finished the season, I started watching episode 1 again, it made so many things clear, like how Edward whispered "Close" to Croizer before dying and other details. It's done so remarkably well. I highly recommend this for anyone who likes to push themselves toward some disturbance.

Squid Game

I love k-dramas as a genre, and I was intrigued to see what they did to gain such attention.
Not disappointed. It has the gore of saw and cube (although not too shocking for those who watch "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Walking Dead" calmly while they eat), along with the sensitivity and character growth I love in the k-drama genres. Great combination for me. It is also take on the ideas presented by "Parasite", but with a quicker pace than the usual TV-Dramas from Korea itself (they usually have at least 12-16 episodes that last over an hour), so it's like they made the perfect mixture of East and West here. I really want to continue seeing how this genre evolves in South Korea to take over the world :)
As it happens with many series, the dropped the ball just a little towards the end and left some storylines unresolved, but the good acting, the music and the amazing visuals that immerse you in the game made up for it completely.

The Queen's Gambit

I watched it way after the hype it caused in 2020, and I must say it didn't "age" well (give me a break, each year went as 5 these days). Feels like she gave up too easily on ab addiction that lasted from childhood. Also, It seems to me like a fantasy made to encourage girls, the actress is great, but many of the aspects aren't followed through (like her birth father, why didn't she look for him? it's one thing when the mom wants to hand over a girl, and it's different when she dies. Or her relationships in general, despite the length of the episodes, most of them appeared shallow, except for Alma).
Also, having Russian background, the language and some of the backdrop was not convincing (not bas as "Killing Eve" though).
It was also weird that her Russian kicked in only in the last scene.
Anyway, pretty good one, but having too high expectations about it might lead to disappointment.

"Flesh Tone" joke really got me. I love how this show addresses the topics, Abishola is amazing, Bob is so cute, seems like the ultimate "feel good" series, and I really need that now. Also happy it didn't get canceled after a season or two, so I'll have some fun with it.

I really enjoyed this. I agree with some commenters in the previous episodes that the rhythm is a little bit off, but I feel that's their way to revamp the sitcom genre to modern day and pace, and I think it works out, and it is funny enough, sad enough and "woke" enough without being too force. I also loved seeing Ted McGinley, who's forever will be the hot neighbor from "Married with Children" for me (THAT old I am, yep), so his bits were fantastic for me and I hope we'll see more of his retirement adventures in Season 2 (please make it be a season 2). Loved the cliffhanger (pan intended) in the end too. Also, every bit of TV or Film that puts "Modern Love" in the soundtrack always gets bonus points from me for the goosebumps this song gives me.
What a great ride it was, a bit like a good therapy session, just hurtful and crack-opening enough to be healthy.

The White Lotus: 1x04 Recentering

I feel really different from all the commenters here. The show feels like a vacation to me, with all the pretty shots of the ocean, palm trees etc., with just enough pointless drama and intrigues to keep the adrenaline pumping.
And yeah, the mystery of who's gonna end up in a casket still lingers and makes me want to binge it to the end. Also, it's rare for me not to get annoyed by 60 minutes long episodes, so this means that the series are done well.
Jeniffer Coolidge character isn't a thrill for me, she basically plays the same character in different circumstances, but it aligns well with the plot.

So Andy and Jack avoid Jack violate the Firefighter code of sleeping with the wife by having an affair with a member of the team, which is also a violation of some code if I remember it right. Really logical. And getting them back to season one was so :zzz:
Also, Eva os terrible, and Jack is really miserable and lonely to fall for THAT obnoxious attitude.
And don't get me started with the bear. So... random.

I hope Alex will get on with the chief duties and crash it, always rooting for him. He always gets rough start and shines through later.
Generally the show feels like kind of a mess right now, too many gaping holes (now that Jackson and Catherine are gone too), Delucca becoming a bit more prominent is nice, the 2 new Ortho doctors are still mingling, and perhaps we didn't see the last of Roy?

Younger: 5x03 The End of the Tour

Considering our agenda these days - Charles should've asked Liza why did she have to lie about her age and make a big story out of it about the ageism in the industry and the society generally, it's like a social experiment. Better than all the books they're doing now (the marriage vacation, as well as the whitehouse guy).
They're very self-absorbed, these characters and I don't think the writing was too on-point here. Too much whining on all sides - Charles, Josh (he's gone from cute and mature to absolutely redicolous and naive). I'm always loyal to series I watch, but meanwhile this is kinda boring and annoying.

Never Let Me Go

I really loved this movie, it keeps emotionally invested. And I loved the final idea, that actually there's no real certainty that our life has any more sense and purpose than of the clones. So make youself useful. That's the vibe I got from it and it's not that depressinb if you ask me. Motivating actually.

The Wire: 2x06 All Prologue

Amazing how a character predicted own death so well in this episode. Powerful and sad stuff. I hope we could see more and more of Omar, this one is truly addictive. And it doesn't feel like it was shot 13 years ago. Just a great, unique pace that demands your patience.

Sex/Life: 1x06 Somewhere Only We Know

I actually see the depth in this series, having a relatively long and interesting life before marriage and kids may seems like we're loosing ourselves when giving up a part of who we are, and in our desperation to cling into our own former/real persona we may get the wrong ideas. The sex scenes are sometimes unnecessary, but I do feel this brings a new perspective to old ideas -more female one (with objectification of males, that's true).
This feels like a woman to woman talk, explicit and unapologetic, and It's probably doesn't warrant a re-watch, but worth its salt.

The Walking Dead: 3x11 I Ain't a Judas

Very disappointed by Andrea, to be honest. Girl, you can't have it both ways. It's ok to choose the guy, but don't act like you're a friend to the people you're betraying. The series is so good now, can't stop binging.

BEEF: 1x04 Just Not All at the Same Time

I love how they make this irrational behavior seems very logical here and there. It's also interesting how they are so alike, that if they weren't "beefing" they could've actually been friends or more, considering George is really annoying Amy with his spiritualism and she'd feel more natural with Danny who despite all his flaws just tells things as they are. I think this series is really refreshing.

Emily in Paris: 2x10 French Revolution

Liked the ending. Obviously, she'll stay in Paris, or go back to Chicago briefly and come back later :)
I liked the relationship with Alfie. Unlike Gabriel (who's like a girl sometimes in his actions, although his eyes are to die for) he's just a guy-guy, childish at first, but pretty much consistent after he developed real interest in Emily.
This season was great, I loved the fact they're going on with this. This will be a fun series to rewatch for us all Paris-suckers :)

I think Max&Randy is the thing I loved most in these series, that was a couple with true chemistry, "beyond the comfort zone" flair and just sexy. The only thing I'll really miss due to the cancellation of the show. It was good while it lasted and it really lost its point this season, since they're not really broke, even if they still "work" in the diner. Plus, I'm sure Randy would've pitch in, 10,000$ for a fancy lawyer - that's nothing. I wish we could get a proper ending episode with Max's wedding, Caroline's dad showing up, Han finding a cute girl... Well, girl can dream...

The Big Bang Theory: 8x03 The First Pitch Insufficiency

Howard should've just grabbed the ball from the rover and throw it and it would have been epic and reassuring, but as it was - it just seemed like a failure :( I know the that's what the sitcom is about, nerds being losers most of the time, but right now it makes me way too sad.

Young Sheldon: 6x22 A Tornado, a 10-Hour Flight and a Darn Fine Ring

I'll be totally ok if for the next season we'd have no Sheldon and Mary but only the rest of the family who stayed in Texas. We already had Chuck Lorre productions going on without one of the titular characters at "Mom".
The whole George situation, wondering when he's going to die reminds me of a similar plotting in "This is is", and I'm even more fond of this particular dad :see_no_evil:
