Pretty sure this is the season finale? Its by far my least favorite episode of the show because of all the inconsistencies it ignores to get to its desired ending. Felt incredibly rushed. Heres a few because I have time:
- Homelander could hear Aunt May(?) twiddling with her phone but he couldn’t hear Starlights phone go off when she subtly recorded him?
- Queen Maeve this entire time was capable of basically soloing Homelander but not only let him kidnap her but refused to team up with a supe and take him down?
- Starlights weird super-saiyan moment that Solider Boy literally walked off? Just so we could see her fly?
- Ok so Maeve ate Soldier Boy’s beam that was powerful to knock out an entire building, a weaker beam we saw kill numerous heroes at Herogasm and took away Kimiko’s powers. She ate all of this and was able to live, including a 30 story high fall she took as a human, but Homelander pushed on her eye kind of hard and now she’s blind in one eye?
Those are just the ones that are obvious, there are a ton of more nitpicky ones I chose to ignore. Terrible episode imo.

@badejayo I think Homelander didn't hear Starlight's phone because she wasn't doing anything with it. I'm sure she started recording before she entered the building.
I see why many people don't like this episode but I still enjoyed it. Hearing what others say about it bring it down a little, but still a very strong season imo.
That finale broke me. It was almost painful to watch, such an emotional rollercoaster! All that mattered for me this season was the wellbeing of Max, so I am not ok right now.

There's only a few times in your life you'll live through a cultural Phenomenon. First Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The X-Files. Something people will remember, reference, and talk about decades later. I truly believe Stranger Things is one of those.

The ending was the best part of the episode, that's how bad it was. I don't care about the jibe against people only wanting solely Rick and Morty adventures. I'm fine whether there is or isn't, as when the situation isn't, it allows more character development for the other characters. So it was a good jibe, and i enjoyed them getting the portal gun back.
But this season and the secondary characters have been so bad that i was liking in the beginning it looked like they were going on a solely Rick and Morty adventure. Then they said nevermind.
Ok then, i guess. Then i hoped the episode would be good and we'd have some good character development or a fun adventure, and not pretentious bullshit like in previous episodes this season.
Then the biggest writer-insert in the entire show appeared in the form of the dinosaurs, speaking the writer's condescending pretentious bullshit to the audience.

I got myself way too excited for this. I think i probably would have enjoyed this episode more if everything came out at once or if they didn't hype this episode up so much. I came in expecting something that would really change the status quo of the Stranger Things world, I was expecting multiple characters to die. And technically multiple characters died and yeah the Stranger Things world was changed forever by this season but I'm honestly kind of upset that they didn't kill Max or some other characters. Overall this episode was great and I did cry multiple times throughout the episode so I'm still giving it a 9/10 but I got myself way too caught up in the hype.

@ngsstory Everything you mentioned sounds positive. I guess you really did ruin it for yourself a bit. Everything for me was pointing towards Steve dying this season and Eddie taking his spot in the group. While I'm really happy that didn't happen, Eddie's death was really sad and powerful. Max basically did die. Her death shocked me. Didn't think it was possible to save her after what Vecna did and looks like they didn't save her, at least not fully. What Vecna did to her body, her eyes and her saying that she doesn't want to go, that really hit me hard. This episode is a masterpiece, as is almost every one of them, but these types of episodes just hit stronger.
I think I must have missed the announcement that there's gonna be one more season after this. I was under the impression that this was the final season, and the super long episodes made me convinced of that even more. I could have sworn I had read that this was supposed to be the end. I watched this entire season thinking the show was coming to an end, and now I've just watched this 2.5 hour long episode thinking it was a series finale, and honestly, I was left feeling very underwhelmed at it. I was thinking "Why haven't they actually wrapped anything up?" then I come on here and read comments to find that there's actually still one more season to go. I guess I'm kinda happy that they're gonna do another season, since that means they'll actually wrap some of this stuff up. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish this was the last season.
