Seeing a film that's won the Palme d'or at Cannes or Best Picture Oscar is like drinking a bottle of ridiculously expensive wine: with every sip you ask yourself over and over again if it deserves the price. Fortunately, Parasite is so good you won't be drinking very long because you'll be drunk on its power soon enough.
A film that crosses genres so many times it leaves a permanent mark, Parasite is a clever story performed wonderfully and directed to perfection.
Bellatrix, Snape, Peter Pettigrew, Grindelwald, and Jace Wayland all in the same movie!
This isn't anything like I expected from the trailer which gave the impression of a woman living many lives with a string of storylines abound in perhaps a convoluted plot. In reality, it's about a mop. That's marketing. It's about a mop made by a woman who keeps her dependant, dysfunctional family afloat without so much of a glimpse of time for any self-care. The characters are diverse and have depth, even if you did wanna punch them in the face. Jennifer Lawrence and the characters she plays are always an inspiration which is what this film was.
this had me hooked from the very first episode and it keeps getting better!!!
So much things that were not explained. The characters had great chemistry, but everything outside that was lacking. Margaret was not explained. The side characters were abandoned, totally non playable characters. I did not understand why they create a story for those girls and did not make anything out of it, it did not make any sense in the plot. Very bad honestly.
This Spring is blessed with five good dramas airing at the same period ; among them Business proposal has the simplistic and most cliche story and yet it is ranked second and on par with 2521 in terms of viewership and overseas engagement. The fact that both airing in Netflix internationally might have in getting wider audience but its the cast and their chemistry that has bought forward such tremendous response.
Be prepared to cry. A lot! You will not regret watching this drama. Will always be one of the best.
Don't judge a book by its cover
Who said politics can't be fun? A satiric comedy about politicians can't be wrong
I've watched almost every k-drama of this year and meanwhile the whole internet gets crazy by other K-dramas almost nobody was talking about this masterpiece so it deserves a properly review.
Usually to make a good drama you need a good casting, good chemistry between the main cast, a good story and good characters, this drama not only managed to succesfully do all of this but the script is insanely good, directing was something I've never saw before and edition was weirdly perfect.
I couldn't be more pleased with Moon Hyun-Kyeong's script and Nana's acting, they were perfect, she definitley deserves to win an award for best actress, meanwhile Moon Hyun-Kyeong already won for best script.
Hopefully this drama will open a door for more satiric stylished shows.
Oh and last but definitely not least, Nana's entrances to every scene should be used to educate :raised_hands:
My score: 9.0/10
One of the most beautiful shows I've ever seen. Their love for each other is so strong and real. The feelings that I felt during this whole series is insane. While the cinematography is one of the best I've seen, the main leads chemistry is amazing.
If you think being a woman is hard imagine being a woman, a mother, a grandmother, a daughter, a grand daughter, a sister, an aunt, a niece, a friend at the same time, and if you think that's not enough now imagine being all that in a country wich one of the most archaic societies.
A movie that shook a whole country with a story that is needed to be told!
Jung Yoo Mi better get the Blue Dragon for this!
Refreshingly realistic breaking the K-drama troupes !!!
Cheaters don't get second chances nor they will get an happy ending
Both characters are hugely flawed but they are just human and 99% Long Distance relationships doesn't work even if you are married. Also technically no one cheated with each other but the seeds of doubt destroyed the realtionship
Malec just born, favorite episode!
Malec just born, favorite episode!
This destroyed almost all the other Korean dramas for me. It's become my new standard of TV shows.
Reply 1988 is one of the best kdramas I have ever watched ❤
I will miss every thing in this Drama ㅠㅠ
Women who know what they want and have no qualms going about getting it? Women who don't don't hesitate to speak their mind and stick up for themselves? Women who are headstrong, and unapologetically so? YES, ALL OF THEM. This drama had some of the best characters ever, and with romance that didn't take away from each of their individual stories, this was pretty darn perfect. Right down to the OST. RECOMMENDED!
Slice of life meets animation meets reality
Yumi's Cells achieved something we rarely see on K-dramas, capture life as it is, with an outstanding adapted screenplay, flawless direction and edition and perfect characterization, both Kim Goeun and Ahn Bohyun deserves all the praising from the media and the public as well as every person in the making of the animation and voice actors. This drama will be forever in my heart, if I could gave it a 1000 I would.
Navillera has plenty of unnecessarily long zoomed in scenes, which is why I should have probably given it an 8 or 9, but I loved every second of it, so I'll just rate it 10 nevertheless (pun intended).
I've read other people's comments which basically said it all, so I'll keep mine short: touching and lovely. All actors did a wonderful job portraying these interesting characters. Song Kang is slowly but surely becoming one of my favorite actors. Cherry on top of the cake: he's incredibly handsome and simply beautiful. Can't wait to see what he does next.
A nostalgic travel through losses, hardships and dreams.
We miss korean dramas with a slice of life on it and Navillera came to hit us harder than ever and while the story can look simple it has a lot of heart on it.
Acting was great, the leads had a lot of chemistry and so far Navillera is one of the best Live Action Netflix gave us!
My score: 8.5, is not higher because I gave a better score to "Dazzling" and I still think that one was better so it would be unfair but still worth watching every minute.
Navillera is one of the most touching series I had ever seen. I'm so happy for started it. I have no words to describe how am I feeling right now after finished this beautiful series.
I can't remember the last time a drama made me laugh this much. The writing is lovely, full of meta comedy and lots of references to other dramas. I loved this!
Honestly I almost hate the first episode but actually it gets way better than I expected!
I don't think this will be the jam of many, not a typical romantic story but instead a more complex and even if it aim to be mature and sometimes didn't hit the mark the final result it's a decent piece of art. The work between director and writer is probably the best, Kim Garam did a flawless job as usual and... is this the first drama from Jung Won? Gurl! We need you writing more dramas from now on!
This is one of those Korean dramas that has so much potential at the start, but about five or six episodes in, it just dies out because producers restructure everything for ratings and not for story. ~Throw in all the Korean drama clichés! All of them!~ Ugh. You can pretty much go down a check list of typical Korean drama scenes, and this drama will have them all.
The best (read: only) way to watch this show is to fast forward through all the unnecessary/terrible scenes. First, all the chaebol family scenes, starting from about four or five episodes in. Second, all the Yewon or mistress scenes; they add absolutely nothing to the main plot. Third, all the Yoonha & Joongi scenes, starting from when Yoonha finally figures out Joongi's real intention. What you'll have left are all the scenes with Changsoo and Jiyi. That couple is the only reason why you should even bother with this show.
I feel like this is one of those dramas that will be forgotten soon when it's actually good and better than it looks! I have to be honest, I didn't like the chemistry of the main couple neither their relationship but I'd liked the characters and their relationship with the rest of them, as for the story it wasn't something new or fresh but it was enjoyable, not the best drama of the year but definitely deserves a better rating.
Chicago Typewriter is perfect! ♡ Love it!
this has a lot of potential.
so warm and beautiful.
i really loved the small and subtle moments of everyday life shown in the series - i pretty much love every kdrama who has these. anyways, i also loved the editing here which i would like to imitate/recreate in the future.
didn't see much chemistry between the two at first, but the pair really grew on me, even made me smile at some of their kilig moments. 10/10 would recommend.
Came back here just to ask: you guysssss - 3rd season WHEN?? We need 3rd season, okay??
Super cute and hilarious. I'm loving it so far!
Ok, so edit after finishing season 1: yes, this drama is cute and hilarious, but it's so much more than that. Here I am jumping through the roof, excited, worried, angry, annoyed, happy and heartbroken, as if all that's happening were happening to me. Changed my rating from 9 to 10 because this one is a genuine gem, a precious darling that's going straight to my favorites.
Second edit after finishing Season 2: I'm even more excited, swooped, annoyed, happy and heartbroken this time. Not sure how this could be possible, but here we are. It's still a 10, and I really hope we get season 3 because otherwise I have no idea what I am to do with all these feelings.
Oh, and p.s. to Yumi: Honey, if you don't want Yu Babi, can you please send him my way? Thanks!
I can easily say this is netflix' best korean series. I wasn't a fan of certain plots that they used in the first episodes and was really afraid of how they would handle them, but I was in for a surprise, each new episode was a emotional rollercoaster, character development is probably one of the best I've seen in years, and all the plots unfold beautifully without any "kdrama trope". Easily a 10 out of 10 series.
Excellent writing, the characters are headstrong and badass and I love them! Recommended!
