Is it just me or this is getting really boring?
I loved it!
It's not Firefly, and budget restrictions do take its toll in every aspect, but it still ticks all the boxes I want in the genre, with the potential to grow and become something spectacular.
Yes, the crew needs to gel, the writing has to get clever and the fresh actors need to learn how to deliver. But that's just how it is these days. A new show rarely starts off "perfect".
I had moments of utter joy whilst watching the pilot, and that's enough for me
Season finale finished the season in a big way, and now that ?. "I'm not a hero, I just loved her."
Finally after almost 20 years a real competition in town, I stopped watching WWF after they replaced the F with the E, and started watching NWA, TNA(or what ever the fuck they call it these days), ROH, NJPW,And some of the independent stuff, and many of the faces in AEW are familiar faces, I hope they get Jay Briscoe and Dalton Castle to AEW, The first show was really good not perfect because i felt there's some stuff missing, And i never heard JR saying holy shit on I commentary before lol and i been listening to JR's voice for more than 20 years, I am just happy that "Pro Wrestling" is back
Basically....
Liv eats the brain of a man that's a hacker/internet troll. The brain is rather old, about one or two weeks ,her vision gets blurry occasionally because of this.
She starts playing a fantasy game on his computer and starts to eat and drink a lot of junk food.
Liv has her first kind of date with Lowell or drop-by as Lowell expressed it.Lowell tries to kiss her,she ducks,it gets awkward and he leaves.Lowell can no longer play at shows(he's a musician)because he gets all ''full-on-zombie mode'' so he only plays in the studio. Then at the very end of the episode they kiss outside the studio.
Blaine kills Jackie(at least that's what it looked like. Most likely she's dead.).
Liv finds out about Blaine's shady business,at least some part of it.
Opinions....
I thought this episode was interesting. It was cool to see her eat rotten brains and what the effects of doing so was.
This episode was the first in a while that focused mainly in the relationships between the characters and the action was not very important. Liked the change of pace and I want to see how Liz will deal with these two men trying to control her life now.
the best episode i've ever seen
Funniest episode this season so far lol
So much Meta in this episode. I'm happy they found a way to make Rose play "herself" with her real hair and real accent. Although her accent felt a bit overexaggerated, or overiggsidgereeded as a kiwi would say.
Agreed, outstanding episodes, I love the ones that are almost all about psychology. Between the lasting psychological effects of this episode and last week's episode with the issues with Hotch's father in law, so near the end of the season, I suspect this season's cliffhanger finale will be Hotch considering retiring from the BAU.
Matt could use his eyes 'till he was 9 years old. The movie Top Gun was released in 1986. ;)
Yeesssss, I was really missing Dr Wells. Love to see him being a douchebag. This episode was dope. Honestly, I love this new dick and badass Dr Wells. I was hoping to see Tom Cavanagh again in the show. He is absolutely amazing. But I have one quetion, is it a coincidence that Zoom sends Linda Park to kill the Flash? or does he knew more about it? I really think that Zoom is Barry from Earth-2 or from another time line. This will be awesome. I just want to know more about Zoom.
Anyhow, this was the best episode of the season so far.
I enjoy so much Tom Cavanagh's performance of another different character and the way he reacted when Caitlin and Cisco told him about his counterpart from Earth-1
A Perl vs Python rant? Really? It's like the show writer went on USENET to pilfer for quotes for the technobabble.
Quality episode. I have to admit, I've grown a little worn out by Barry. There's nothing wrong with the character, he's just gotten a little played out and they needed to find a different direction for him. I don't know if this was it exactly, and in truth he was mostly up to his old schtick, but he and Archer have a good, funny dynamic that was particularly enjoyable when the two of them were in the cab together. Barry is understandably resentful of Archer, and Archer is kind of oblivious, lightly vindictive in that trademark jocular Archer way, and the clashes between them are usually entertaining because of it.
But the highlight of the episode was Mallory being locked in the underground chamber and finding her way out. Jessica Walter has such a verve in her world weary wit, to where when she's talking about the various steps of escape, it's enjoyable how acerbic she can be (like when she sees the Archer graffiti and realizes in a delightfully cutting fashion that someone blaming this on Archer doesn't narrow down her list of possible assailants much). Plus, it's also nice to see her being a bit of a badass spy herself, whether it's finding her way out of a SAW-like cell, or manhandling a truck driver. (And the Ron Cadillac cameo was great!).
Overall, there was a lot of the fun group dynamic in the A-story with the group trying to find out who Barry's mom is. Krieger in particular got to shine a bit, both from helping Archer with his electrocution plan (I assume Archer knows about the whole Edison thing from his brief time as Bob Belcher watching "Electric Love"), comforting his transgender frog, and the reveal that he has masks and gloves for each member of the former ISIS team. There wasn't as much narrative momentum to go with the laughs--Barry's plan felt more like an excuse to get everyone together than something that really drove the story--but the laughs were good, so the episode largely still worked.
"Ward Meachum sends his regards."
Silly show, Danny Rand is Loras Tyrell not Robb Stark.
I thought they would have a whole series of episodes with Red on death row, not jump to his execution. That was surprising to me.
We saw some of the old Liz here, the person from season one. I wasn't surprised that after all that she didn't end up asking him anything, but I was, of course, a bit disappointed and mildly annoyed. Maybe next episode he'll use his last words to tell her! --But probably not.
Wow! I was going to give this episode a 9, but that ending easily pushed it to a 10+. I can only hope that the rest of the series is as exciting.
[9.0/10 on a post-classic Simpsons scale] I was worried about this one. The Simpsons taking on pot in 2020 feels like the potential for some real “Old Man Yells at Cloud” levels of out of touch. But this was really good! It was funny! It told a good story! And while the third act goes off the rails a little bit, it resolves everything on a sweet note. Post-classic Simpsons, I didn’t know you had it in you! Kudos to writer Carolyn Ormine and substitute showrunner Matt Selman.
I like the emotional conflict and the story here. Marge doesn't know what to do with herself while Maggie’s at daycare, and stumbles into a job at a slick, modern CBD shop backed by Drederick Tatum. Meanwhile Homer ends up starting a business with Moe to offer old devotees the weed-buying experience of their youth. The conflict between the new look of buying marajuana and the old look is both a good source of comedy and a good source of drama between the couple.
I like Marge having qualms about participating in pot sales, only to be convinced by Tatum that she’s actually participating in wellness. There’s commentary and even some cynicism in the idea that a button down woman like Marge selling them pot puts squeamish folks at ease about engaging in something that is legal but still a touch taboo in certain corners. It makes sense that Tatum and company, who are wanting to put a new, more sophisticated and respectable face on pot, would want to use Marge’s to do it.
Along the way there’s tons of great gags. The episode is rife with great THC-based wordplay. (It’s not the most clever, but I think my favorite is “chicken pot pot pie”, though Marge’s “I’m a healer and you’re a dealer” is a good one too). Billy Porter and Chelsea Peretti are quite funny as Marge’s suave counter-culture coworkers. The running bits about Homer replicating the old pot-buying experience are amusing, as is the fact that the cops run a sting not based on him selling drugs, but on him selling food without a license.
Marge betraying Homer like that is a solid character beat, and I like the resolution that he tries to expose Marge as a fraud to her clientele as a teetotaler for retribution, only to help comfort her through her disorienting high. It’s a bit of a quick fix, but it’s sweet, and the show gets a lot of humorous mileage out of Marge the square being under the influence. Homer accidentally burning down Tatum’s center seems unnecessary, but I guess the show needed to do something to restore the status quo.
Overall, this was a surprisingly timely and funny take on modern pot sales, and a really good Homer and Marge story to boot. It’s in competition with “Thanksgiving of Horror” for best of the season in my book!
Calling it now, for the season finale, he discovers he's been taking placebos this whole time...
Barry using his speed to do research. Barry acting like a friend to Cisco and his girl. Barry not brooding and having the weight of the world on his shoulders. Barry legitimately caring about his team and calling them family. Yep, I'm here for this. This is The Flash that I fell in love with and want to see. Good episode.
Which proves, yet again, take Westallen out of focus, Barry and the show shine.
wohooo time loops are always amazing, and this was a particularly good one. What a final season Arrow is having!
An underrated Bond film. People like to make fun of the title. Whatevs. I'll admit the script was hurt by the strike, they did what they could, it's the shortest Bond film and Craig's least successful outing. I still like it, and a revisit is always worth it for the GREAT song, and that motorcycle flip Bond does in the beginning. So badass.
After the weakest, most underwhelming season that feels at times veered towards Family Guy than itself, Rick and Morty sticks the landing nicely. Surprisingly, by leaning into serialization more than it has ever done before (even if couched in self-deprecating gags about doing so).
I am really tired of drone episodes. That being said, I liked this episode much more than the pilot. Jane is still kinda whiny and constantly repeats "But I don't know who I am", but she felt a little bit more real this episode. If Jane really is Taylor, then they would have uncovered more in the first two episodes than all of season 1 The Blacklist or Lost. I love that the mystery is slowly being revealed right from the get-go.
The secondary characters (other agents) are taking a larger role - I hope that this continues. Series are always better when secondary characters are distinct and well-thought out. Anyways, I look forward to next weeks.
I really hate this anti-Putin and anti-Russian propaganda that is going on on american tv. There is no "mass corruption" in Russia as they say, and all those "anti-Putin bloggers" are just pets of american government who are spreading lies about "corruption" in Russian government and if any danger will get close to them (by the way, Putin did not pursuit ANY "opposite" blogger at all), they will flee to america to their masters. I bet that creators were forced to put this story about bloggers and Russian spies, because it seems to be totally out context.
as if the girl power until now wasnt enough with peggy, now we have a female villain whos super smart and super badass and i am so hyped
Am I crazy or has Archer been on fire this season? The fact that he was dumbfounded and stammering by having to relive being bullied was great. The opening scene was hilarious, both for Mallory's tremendous acerbic wit (her line about leaving AJ at a state fair dumpster and hoping that carnies take her in was classic her) and for Ivy's not-so-latent prejudice and the related disbelief. Pairing up Archer and Cyril in a story about bullying and having Cyril try to convey the irony to Archer (and have it fall on deaf ears) was brilliant, as has his little imagine spot about recreating silence of the lambs. Plus, there were all sorts of great continuity nods, from Archer wondering if Ivy knew Ray, to "suppressing fire!" to even, god help me, Archer's "octoroon" comment. The animation was especially good this episode, and there were enough twists and turns in the plot to keep the story going even as the comedy was running alongside it. Hell, there was even genuine pathos in Archer recounting how Ivy and Whitney nearly drowned him in a toilet. Throw in the rest of the gang riffing on bringing Hamentaschen to cover for Mallory's slur, Lana getting arrested in the process, and a recurring line of humor about a "vag-pass" and you have Archer firing on all cylinders. Loving this season so far.
In a time travel/loop themed episode, the"Allons-y!" moment from the Android was priceless for a Whovian like me... but what the hell were those jumps to the future? And that ending!? Explain! EXPLAIN! (Dalek mode off)
My unedited reaction to the episode : Ah, balls!!! Lena! Stop this nonsense now young lady. Focus your energy on supercorp instead.
I can't stress enough how much I personally enjoy this series. Bonus points for the 30 Rock and Fight Club references.
One of the best episodes up to now.
That cliffhanger is really neat. Can't wait for the next episode. As usual.
Especially considering the vision may suggest that Lowell knows something about that abducting children thingy that's going on as he must have eaten brain of some of them already.
