I'm not a religious person so it might be difficult for me to accept a series like this.
But it is one of the most boring series I have seen from beginning to end. Usually I watch two or three episodes and if I'm not stuck then I quit. But for some inexplicable reason, I saw the whole series, in two days.
There is talk and talk and then we talk a little more until you think you see a stage set.
The first three episodes work for me then my patience runs out. Never has the sun been more welcome.loading replies
i'm a third generation atheist (about as removed from the church experience as it gets) and enjoyed it so i don't think it's the religious nature. i think it's a matter of pacing—some people just hate this kind of pacing, and honestly i do too! but only in the context of anything released weekly rather than something i can watch in one sitting.
So... What happened to Erik?

@ameliashepherd I think the boys dead in 1953 were Erik and the deaf boy Yasin.
The foresight of these writers is amazing. One of the sub plots was peace talks with the Taliban. And minute after the show aired, the real-life U.S. government started peace talks with the real-life Taliban. Craziness. These writers have a great pulse on current affairs...to a point that they can predict it before it happens.

@d0ndada we owe our peace treaty to Saul and Carrie! :laughing:
This episode starts unwrapping just how insane Villanelle really is. I thought her and Sebastian were cute together, and she may have had feelings. But then damn, she didn't even care he was dead.

@d2dyno she's a psychopath, she doesn't care about anyone!
Ulrich reuniting with Mikkel for a short while, and him seeing Magnus and Martha, MY HEART.

@massakilian yes, you can't hold up your tears :(
It's awesome that this season premiered almost exactly the same day the beginning of the pilot was set on.
Crazy that Elizabeth is the leader in 2052. Wouldn't have expected that. And the girl who was translating looks a whole lot like 1986 Hannah for some reason.
Jonas is still very much into his aunt, apparently (and we got another season premiere gratuitous sex scene).
Franziska is still hiding shit, which now also somehow includes the prostitute, who is related to one-eyed cop (btw were we ever told what happened to his eye?).
And we went even farther into the past! This show is spanning a time period of more than 100 years right now! Insane.

@abtr another crazy coincidence, I started season 2 today , 27 june 2020 , the day of the apocalipse
@kieranlittleuk I hope he does. Or somebody else kills Theo
I wish this episode was the first one cause we kinda lose track of the mood from last episode.
And oh wow I think it’s the first time I’ve seen in any show such a realistic portrayal of menstruation! I was even shocked cause for some reason it still is such a private topic that we barely see in the media.
Also I don’t understand Terry’s deal... last episode she looked kinda suspicious? Or like weird but I don’t know if that’s her worried face or like her guilty face? But how would she be involved in what happened to Arabella? And when she started crying it seems like she was crying for other reason so I’m not sure, and right after having what seemed like a good night with those guys she looked sad? And then she lied to Arabella about they still being there? There’s like a weird vibe in their friendship but don’t know if it’s real or it’s just me reading into it.loading replies
@aars26 The way I see it, I believe that Terry was still upset that Arabella just forgot about her while they were partying, and she was even more upset after finding out that those two guys actually knew each other and just tricked her (that’s what I understood from the scene when they seem to congratulate each other while she watches them go through the window), so obviously she’s not going to tell anything to Arabella because she wants to pretend she’s still having a great time on her own.

@bnfalkenberg I'm not a religious person either but my main problem is that most of the religious talking in the show comes across as the show writers trying to establish some level of authority that Paul and Bev would have over the community and failing miserably, it just feels as if we are expected to accept that rational minded people would believe and follow an obviously unhinged and self-serving person as Bev just cuz "religion", which is kind of insulting to people who are religious.
That ending... the teeth? jfc, wtf, etc. I have not read any of Gillian Flynn's books because I watched Gone Girl (which I absolutely hated) and The Girl on the Train (which was kind of meh for me), but I think I'm gonna read this one.

@drowninginfeels
The Girl on the Train is not written by Flynn
In a show where people are killed all the time I really hope Sherry is one of these people and I hope it happens pretty soon.

You are probably right about the pacing because I only got half way through his Hill house serie. I must avoid that guys work.
Wait, where did John go? Ain't he innocent now cause Ryan killed Erin? Also didn't the old man say that the gun was missing for a few days instead of just an hour at night like Ryan said?
Good series overall but ending was a bit lacking for me. Incredible acting by everyone involved though!

That was a pretty good episode. I like the dark hair on Carrie.

@dewdropvelvet yeah she looks really good with dark hair!
The laziness of the writers really shines through in this episode. All of a sudden Sen Paley is a counter Intel expert, despite not even realizing he has been a Russian stooge the past 3 months. And of course the little Hacker in Sol's 'secret' group is allowed to chill out in his mums basement leading to a convenient chat with Paley's assistant. So then Paley decides he may as well aid the Russians in their efforts to bring down the Presidency.
Fuck me that is some lazy ass writing.

@smartwombat oh man i would surely love to know what episodes you dont call lazy..
