Why was my comment deleted? It did not break any rules nor was it disrespectful in any way. I came here to reply to the person who commented my message and I saw it's gone. I will repost it since it did not break the rules. The comment could also be helpful to the newcomers who might think this is a brand new show.

Why in the world is this marked as separate show and the one from 2005 marked as Ended? This is not a reboot, but a direct continuation of the previous episode The Power of the Doctor! I know they want to call the new season Season 1 because of Disney Plus, but it is not, it's actually Season 14. It makes no sense at all. Not to mention that the specials also reference previous seasons. This is not like a reboot from 2005 when newcomers could just start watching from there and ignore Classic Who. Newcomers can't start from here! I don't understand why it couldn't say Season 14 on Disney. All the previous seasons could be imported at some point once the whatever deal they have with BBC expires (I assume that's what is stopping them from putting them on the platform right away).
This is just insane, an insult to the fans, Jodie (doctor not regenerating into her clothes), Chibnall, everyone...
How do we organize our collection now and sync with Trakt? I don't want to label it as a separate show. What's interesting is that IMDB and TVDB show seasons correctly and have Season 14. TMDB does some weird stuff.
Update: If someone is wondering how to organize the collection in Plex, just follow TVDB and it will be shown correctly.
The reason why it's a new series is pretty simple. When this season fails they can start Doctor Who 2005 back up and pretend this season never happened.
Oh look another show that has its natural flow interrupted by the same ol' industry standards plaguing everything else in the last few years. Hire hack writers who don't care about the source, hire every checkbox in the book, and then blame it on the fans for not liking it. Next.
Omg I am so disappointed.
I had high expectations.
He took his helmet off WTF!!!!!
Where are the grunts?? I only sa elites.
It’s notebable that the dint researched the original ip.
Again Hollywood took an ip and did there own cheap thing with it. To get maximum money out of it. With less effort. generic story writing. Human on human
Baby sitting a human girl. Do I need to go on?
Only plus point is the look of the Spartans
Action it self is good.
Everything else is bad generic cheap writhing.
Makes no sense why they insist on rebranding this as a new show. Just making it even more confusing for new watchers.
EDIT: After the first few episodes - not really on board yet with the writing and stories so far. BUT Ncuti and Millie are absolutely fabulous and amazing.
Nah, I'm out. The Chinese version, while lower budget, was better. This is more drama/relationships/love nonsense.
I guess Netflix Fans will enjoy it.
The New Doctor Who is garbage, thx Disney
Insta-ignore for me, Wesley Snipes was the one and only for this role. This actor neither has the charisma nor appearance for this.
Lowered my rating as I was so bored on S2E1 I turned it off.
I somehow made myself finish episode 1 just to see if it gets better as it nears the episode's end. But no , it's too bland. The jokes are not hilarious and not original.
They managed to turn the epic story of Halo into the same nonsense that US has been pushing out the last few years:
"Let's make everyone corrupt, there are conspiracies everywhere, everyone is evil, and everyone whines a lot! We're such great writers, wow!"
I'll watch almost anything with superpowers so I tried this. This show was easily predictable, not original, and politically preachy. Basically par for the course for Hollywood over the last several years and yet another reminder to stick to Japanese anime for my animated sci-fi/fantasy cravings. The writers completely forget that a major aspect of the superpowers genre is escapism. Meanwhile, this show was like watching the fever dream of a woke writer who thought "how could I turn this beloved genre into yet another soulless propaganda piece" as they repeatedly remind me of current day social-political nonsense that has plagued the western world. The plot is very unoriginal where the big twist is that instead of ripping off the Superman origin story, they're actually ripping off the Dragonball Z origin story...and not well. I guess I'm supposed to overlook the massive plot holes since they met their racial and LGBT quota? The excessive and unnecessary use of gore does not help either. It screams desperation, just like their over budget ensemble Hollywood cast. They hope you'd be shocked at the gore and impressed by the casting so you'd mistake this for a mature and well-written show.
Despite having more barbs than a fence at Eagle Pass Seth still refuses to make jokes about certain groups.
