S5 FINALE SPOILERS:
This is sad because after S5 finale wouldn’t it be crazy for Marinette to realize that Adrien’s dad had the chance to be good and everything could’ve been different. He didn’t have to die, he could have been great. Maybe even for Adrien to realize that? Ugh it’d be so sad but so good. Also I genuinely love Betterfly, Shadybug, & Clawnoir
This special was actually really well done! I liked pretty much everything about it. It was even able to get me in the feels a few times
This is a really good looking movie. The details are amazing! However I seriously could not watch more than 20 minutes of this. The singing is almost NONSTOP. I don't mind some singing as long as there is more acting than singing. But in the little bit I watched, we were lucky to get maybe 5 minutes of dialogue before they would break out into song. If you love musicals, then this movie is for you. If you prefer plot and comedy, this movie is definitely no Shrek. It's a shame, because it really is beautifully rendered.
The pinnacle of live action and animation combination. Over 30 years old and it ain't been beat.
Surprised this movie isn't as remembered or revered from the 1980's pop culture as others. It was a very big deal back when it was released. Still the only time Bugs Bunny & Mickey Mouse have appeared on screen together--even though both studios (Warner Bros & Disney) were so insistent that one character not get more time than the other that had to appear in the scenes together, just to make sure (same thing with Donald & Daffy Duck--that's how we got "dueling pianos".)
I liked this movie when it came out. Still has tons of good quotable lines, memorable original characters (Roger, Jessica, the weasels, Bennie the cab, Baby Herman). The only reason I can think of that this movie isn't more ingrained in pop culture is that it was just a little too adult for the youngest viewers at the time it came out, which wouldn't make much of a difference in today's society, but it did then.
Still, it has Mel Blanc (it may have been one of his final movies), Frank Sinatra, the original voice of Betty Boop...the original voice of Megatron from "Transformers" (Frank Welker) as Dumbo, some hilarious easter eggs, and is a great sendup of the films & cartoons of days gone by. (Bonus: Bart Simpson's voice was the voice of the squeaky toon shoe that gets "dipped")
In some ways, this movie was ahead of its time. I kind of see some parallels between "Roger Rabbit" & "Ready Player One" in its homage to past pop culture but also sending it up a little bit at the same time.
Amazzzziinnnggg animated/real movie! I love the fact that Disney & Warner Bros animators teamed up and did an outstanding job!
Like the last four Transformers movies, The Last Knight is over-long and overstuffed. While screenwriter Akiva Goldsman (Batman & Robin, Lost in Space, The DaVinci Code) who came up with the story added some DaVinci Code like subplots to the film. Which has Anthony Hopkins sending Mark Wahlberg's character on a quest to find Merlin's staff.
The upside is that there's some nice visuals and set pieces. All that seems wasted on films that don't add up to much. Sarcastic Spoiler Alert: They all have pretty much the same ending for movies that are so epicly long. "My name is Optimus Prime and I will always fight for humans and their planet....blah blah blah."
Michael Bay, before the start of some recent movies at theaters bragged about testing the limits of IMAX for the viewers. Yeah when he did that, he let the writer of Batman & Robin worry about the story. The film looks great but is it great ? No.
There's some laughs and cool new Transformers and robots but the movie is so long with a scattered plot that the good points don't save it . You also have Josh Duhmel back and chasing Wahlberg and the Autobots throughout until he's suddenly not.
Plus why are the humans even still after the Autobots that saved them four times and are their best defense against the Decepticons ? That's something for example that makes the film a mess. Bay hasn't learned from making any of these movies. Never takes notes from a bad review and just presents similar movies each time.
It's like "screw you, I'm Michael Bay and people will keep seeing these movies. So I will make it longer, louder and add more explosions!!"
To be honest, there are times you won't have a clue what's going on (not in a good way) and the plot holes will hit you hard, and it will feel a whole lot longer than 2 hours. On the other hand, it all looks great. Best way to enjoy it is by switching off your brain n let the 10 year old in you have his fun.
“Smile my boy, it’s sunrise”
RIP Robin Williams, you will always be in my heart. Thank you for everything you've given us.
It's the last 2 episodes from the Entertainment District arc and 1 episode from the Swordsmith Village arc (which will be aired soon as the new season).
And crunchyroll hasn't bothered to remove the opening credits and end credits from each episode.
It's like binging episodes one by one on crunchyroll, but in a movie theatre.
I'm a sucker for feel-good musicals with catchy songs.
I don't know why but I shed a tear when the audience sang along just before Clay Calloway got the courage to sing.
Is it just me or is there some circlejerk going on at Disney where they keep using the same group of actors over and over again for their different brands? Just stop using Taika Waititi already.
The movie itself is pretty whatever.
It reminded me a lot of Onward; you could do a lot worse, but it probably won’t be remembered within the broader Pixar catalogue.
Not a lot of depth or subtext with this one, it’s a pretty straight forward adventure (which is also fine of course).
Some good animation (lots of visual ideas are being pulled from Star Wars), decent voice acting, fine characters, story’s alright.
It’s kinda inoffensive and doesn’t really warrant some of the extreme reactions it’s gotten.
The whole ‘woke’ label is baffling to me, it just seems like a smokescreen certain people use to cover up for their own homophobia, which only emphasizes how the word ‘woke’ carries little to no meaning nowadays.
Any regular person will be fine watching this, regardless of their political leaning.
Ffs, it’s mass entertainment after all.
5/10
Lightyear is a lighthearted and fun sci-fi adventure. Let me get this out of the way first and foremost, the visuals in this film are spectacular. The artists who did this deserve a raise because this might be the best looking animated film I have ever scene. I really enjoyed the touch of changing the resolution at a certain point. With that out of the way, I really enjoyed this film, the exploration of a new world was really well done. I liked the time traveling elements that were presented, borrowing some from Interstellar, and it brought some really sad moments that nearly drew a tear from me. The cast of characters were funny and their evolution throughout the story was a joy to watch. I was not super impressed with this movies interpretation of Zurg. I just felt like there was more that could have been done with that.
Score: 82%
Verdict: Great
What is people’s problem? This was a great funny movie
It’s no Pixar levels of greatness, but it’s no Illumination levels of shit either.
It’s a little too generic and predictable to be truly outstanding, but still very efficient and a fun time nonetheless.
Pretty much the entire movie is carried by the animation style (you gotta love how Spiderverse opened the doors for these weirder styles of animation), the music and the fun scenes where they’re ripping off the Oceans franchise.
Some decent characters as well (though the wolf felt like a carbon copy of the wolf character in Zootopia), some good jokes, but also a few Illumination moments.
I get that you’re making a kids film, but I take issue with films that treat kids like dumb pieces of shit.
Though overall, I didn’t mind this film at all, it’s pretty alright.

one of the best animated movie I've seen, and by far the best Christmas themed movie I've seen.
The best Christmas movie I've ever seen. It was funny, heartwarming, very well animated, and enough to keep you interested. Really highly recommended.
Outstanding movie. One of the best Christmas movies I've watched. It has everything it needs to become a Christmas classic.
This is one of the best Christmas movies I've watched in a long time! :christmas_tree:
A funny and touching adventure that you must watch during the holiday season! Whether it's with your kids or your significant other, one thing is for sure: You will love it! :two_hearts:
I loved this movie. One of the best Christmas movie on my list :christmas_tree:
There are multiple themes and I loved the way all of them are presented. The friendship between Jesper and Klaus, the father/son relationship, the spirituality around Klaus’s wife and his way of dealing with the passing of his wife,...
All the little details that makes this movie a Santa Klaus origin story is gold.
The animation style and the drawings are a bit old school but as soon as you are used to them, you are taken in a wonderful journey.
This is a bit of a strange movie. Part of it feels like a pretty good, dark and gritty thriller, part of it feels like a wannabe Tarantino movie and part of it feels like a comedy. Overall I would classify it as a B-movie but a pretty good B-movie. As strange as the movie is I have to say that I liked it.
I kind of watched this movie on a whim. It popped up on my Netflix home screen and I kind of liked the blurb. A type of story that I like. Then I saw that Mads Mikkelsen played the lead role and this sold me on it. I quite like Mads Mikkelsen in these kind of roles.
The movie starts off in a fairly normal way for this kind of movie. You know, some assassinations, introduction of the hero, the bad guys, the even badder guys and all that. It is fairly clear already from the start that there will be blood splatter. That it would reach the levels it did towards the end of the movie was a bit of a surprise though.
I did like Mads Mikkelsen in his role as Duncan, the somewhat brooding and grim assassin starting his retirement. But then I’m not really surprised. It’s a perfect role for him. The rest of the actors, well let’s just say that their acting was for the most part forgettable. Maybe with the exception of Matt Lucas as Blut. But then, his role was so comical and wacky so one wonders if it required acting skills or just a good dose of insanity (or some chemical products).
The blurb states that he is deemed a liability. Well, that is not exactly the truth actually. It is more that his overly wacky boss is trying to screw him. This is where it starts to get into comedy land. Already in the first couple of scenes it is clear that this guy is a nut job. Then he let’s loose his assassins and at that point the movie escalates in a orgy of blood, violence and comedy.
I cannot really make up my mind if it would have been a better movie if the violence would have been less comical or not. With the comedy this movie becomes a bit unusual and sticks out. Without it it would risk becoming just another thirteen on a dozen assassin thrillers. Also, as comical as it is, it is fairly well done.
Anyway, there is of course a pretty dramatic and violent fight as the movie draws to a close. I quite liked that one. There is also a little twist that I actually did not see coming at the end.
Overall, it was a fun movie to watch.
just ok overall; it felt like it laked depth and some of the characters acted like they were from cartoons :))
A weird one this. It could have been a good film - the source material is fine, Mads is excellent - but the movie is a bit of a jumble. An uncomfortable mix of comedy and thriller; there are some cool moments, but with a sledgehammer approach and an idiotic script, the final result is a disappointment. A pity, because there was real potential here.
Mads is great. Some of the action is decent. Overall the movie tries too hard. It wants to be stylish but ends up being weird.
Beautiful movie, the production value is outstanding and even though the story is nothing to write home about, the pacing is good enough that you won't get bored a single minute.
This is a good watch if you're wanting a heartwarming adventure movie, Karl Urban's voice and sea salt in your hair.
Everything I want in a movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
There were a few boneheaded moments like not killing Christos before leaving the house, but otherwise a well written and directed movie. I love all the main actors and even enjoyed Walker Scobell. He was the right blend of annoying and endearing.
I wish we could have seen more of Zoe Saldana, but I think the writing was good with respect to her role.
I absolutely loved the bar scene with Adam and Ellie. It was perfect. Jennifer Garner is just a gem.
Mark Ruffalo plays a great egotistical asshole. The final couple of scenes with the two Adams was very touching, though.
A great cast and a very good story.
I did find the soundtrack interesting. I'm not sure it entirely fits, but it doesn't seem out of place either. Great music, but it seems like their could have been better decisions that fit the scenes a bit more. Or are they capitalizing on the retro nature like Marvel stumbled upon with Guardians of the Galaxy?
The movie is not the best ever, but it's enjoyable and I loved the references to Starwars, including the modern day remake of the scene on Endor (in the forest on the speeders).
Don't take the movie too seriously and it's great.
This is a very good lighthearted movie that just works. Plenty of action and laughs, solid acting and there may be a plot hole or something but I didn't see it or care - i was too busy enjoying it.
10/10
Loved it! It had a lot of nostalgia from other films, on top with it’s sense of humour, a lot of fun, some cool effects, sound plot with a lot paradoxes obviously and a fine cast and with a heart, good work from ryan as always too
