Did not like it.
I guess it will go well with star stricken audience that watches movies just because a movie star that they like is in it.
For me it is a bad movie.
Bad characters (after watching the movie ask yourself what did you actually learn about lead characters.
Not two rows worth of character development and also almost no interaction between them).
Bad heist plot (multiple plot holes and inconsistencies:
SPOILERS they drag Ann to toilet so they can steal the necklace and then act that they found it somewhere else because it slipped although it was pointed out that it can not slip since you need magnetic key to remove it, or at least wouldn't it be easier just to give her the fake necklace in the toilet saying that it fell.
Also later they drove off with the rest of the diamonds while the place was in lockdown by "best security team in the world" that just accepts "oh, look what i found in the pool" explanation...
Not to mention the movie is caled Ocean's Eight but there were seven women in a group which made Ann Hathaway's reveal at the end not so much of a shock, more of a meh.
There are many more plot holes but it would take longer to read them than to watch this movie.
About SJW in the movie
they managed to cover all "the colors of Benetton", Also it is marketed as a movie about an "All women's heist team",
but in the end they have a male in a team, but I guess he doesn't count and doesn't deserve an equal part of the loot.
Constance swiped one necklace and gets 38 million, but the guy that collected all the rest gets a tap on the shoulder, and no credit.
I never thought they could make a 2 hour movie with Emma Stone in multiple sex scene's this bad, but they did.
The only good thing about this movie is the chemistry between the cast. The script is defiantly one of the worst of the year and was probably made by a horny 14-year-old. It's fine to watch once but you'll probably forget about it right after.
It’s always exciting to see a talented actor on screen such as Matthias, and he takes control of his character well, who is very talented at opening vaults and has a funny quirky personality that you will like in an instant. His crew are an odd bunch trailing behind the star of the show.
It’s probably better than Army of the Dead if memory serves me right. And those cgi of the vault mechanics were imagined really well, some talented people have worked on this part.
Disclosure: I didn't know anything about the movie prior to seeing it besides seeing the trailer. I didn't research it because I hate spoilers. But in this case I think this was a mistake.
First, I loved the movie. The story is interesting, though predictable, the pacing is fine. During the whole movie the story was building on and when it finally came time to hit the climax - the movie ended! I had one of those WTF?! moments. I was really disappointed because I felt that the whole movie was intro into the story and the action was rising only to end right before the climax. Like I didn't get the feeling of a conclusion. I didn't have the same feeling with any of the other YA trilogies or multi-part movies. It was obvious that another movie will be coming but I cannot stop comparing it to one of those books that don't provide answers unless you read the next book. I hate those books!
So if you are like me better wait for next movie to come out and then watch them back to back.
Really solid film but the very ending disappointed massively for me. Kind of contradicts everything that came before it.
Barbenheimer: Part 1 of 2
This is the kind of film I really don’t want to criticize, because we don’t get nearly enough other stuff like it. However, mr. Nolan has been in need of an intervention for a while now, and unfortunately all of the issues that have been plaguing his films since The Dark Knight Rises show up to some degree here. Visually it might just be his best film, and there’s some tremendous acting in here, particularly by Murphy and RDJ. However, it makes the common biopic mistake of treating its subject matter like a Wikipedia entry, thereby not focussing enough on character and perspective. As a whole, the film feels more like a long extended montage, I don’t think there are many scenes that go on for longer than 60 seconds. There’s a strong ‘and then this happened, and then this happened’ feel to it, which definitely keeps up the pace, but it refuses to stop and let an emotion or idea simmer for a while. There are moments where you get a look into Oppenheimer’s mind, but because the film wants to cover too much ground, it’s (like everything else) reduced to quick snippets. It’s the kind of approach that’d work for a 6 hour long miniseries where you can spend more time with the characters, not for a 3 hour film. I can already tell that I won’t retain much from this, in fact a lot of it is starting to blur together in my mind. There are also issues with some of the dialogue and exposition, such as moments where characters who are experts in their field talk in a way that feels dumbed down for the audience, or just straight up inauthentic. Einstein is given a couple of cheesy lines, college professors and students interact in a way that would never happen, Oppenheimer gives a lecture in what’s (according to the movie) supposed to be Dutch when it’s really German; you have to be way more careful with that when you’re making a serious drama. Finally, there are once again major issues with the sound mixing. I actually really loved the score, but occasionally it’s blaring at such a volume where it drowns out important dialogue in the mix. I’m lucky enough to have subtitles, but Nolan desperately needs to get his ears checked, or maybe he should’ve asked some advice from Benny Safdie since he’s pretty great with experimental sound mixing. My overall feelings are almost identical to the ones I had regarding Tenet; Nolan needs to rethink his approach to writing, editing and mixing. This film as a whole doesn’t work, but there are still more than a few admirable qualities to it.
Edit: I rewatched this at home to see whether my feeling would change. I still stand by what I wrote in July, though the sound mix seems to have been improved for the home media release. It sounds more balanced and I didn’t miss one line of dialogue this time around. I’m slightly raising my score because of that, but besides that I still think it’s unfocused, overedited, awkwardly staged and scripted etc.
5.5/10
This movie shows in a very good way how the next virus outbreak that will be just as big or maybe even bigger as the Spanish Flu is gonna happen in the 21th century. And believe me, sooner or later IT WILL HAPPEN.
I liked the electronic music that was playing at the beginning of the movie. It had sort of an panicked tone to it that together with the people who where getting sick and dying set a thrilling tone to the first part of the movie.
I found the movie to be very realistic. Jude Law character was spot-on. When there is gonna be an outbreak we will see people on the internet (who have no medical training whatsoever) who think they have found the cure and millions of people will listen to them. There will be millions of people who stop going to work, who stay at home and avoid contact with anyone. Others will do whatever they can to get their hands on a vaccination, even if that means killing someone else.
I liked the fact that we got to see the story from so many different angles. It really gave an overview of the entire situation and what the virus had for an impact on all the people involved.
The end of the movie was a bit disappointing. In my opinion that could have been a lot better. But overall i find this movie to be really good.
Reboot this as much as you want Maguire was the best Spider-Man.
Did the father have wives of 3 different asian nations, or was it just crappy casting?
copy past from the danish movie with the same name, shit on them
Too much social commentary, not enough horror (or suspense). Easily the least impressive Peele production.
The few seconds of return to childhood at the end was not worth the hour plus of bratty, violent, hypersexualized preteens you had to sit through to get there. Realistic depiction of some girls? Sure. I remember girls like that. But meaningful writing or filming to leave you feeling educated or wanting to act in some positive way to make a difference? Nope. You just can’t figure out why anyone let their kids do this film or how anyone could film it and not question why half the (very creepy) shots were necessary. I kept hoping it would redeem itself and the online outrage people had without seeing it was dramatic, but I’m going to have to say it was pretty spot on, unfortunately.
When you order a pepperoni pizza and they deliver a pepperoni pizza, do you complain they didn't serve you filet mignon? This film is the pepperoni pizza of action films. If you want an action film, this has got it. It's not especially new or revolutionary or poetic, but at least it's got action from beginning to end which is more than many other action films of late.
Wow. The reviews of this are ridiculous. I'm so tired of the armchair "critics" out there today, and the nonsense they whine about. Sure, there's nothing all that noteworthy here, but it's a pretty good weepy with some good performances. If you're in that kind of mood or dig these actors give it a go.
I cared more for the Plane in Plane than Superman in Batman v Superman
..clicks play......ehhhhhhhhh....hmmmmm....stop... exit... Click Pornhub dot com ahhhhhhh better.
.squirt!!! The end
People that are comparing this to John Wick need to go back and watch John Wick. This doesn't even come close.
Absolutely terrible. I get so annoyed when a film is rated highly (in this case 66%) and you figure out later it's just boring or artsy fartsy people rating it because they THINK they saw something artistic. It's not artsy just because someone slapped a retro color filter over it, it's bad. Had the movie actually lead to something I'd of thought it was better, but as it was it was just EXTREMELY long scenes of blah blah blah scenes that rise tension that the film never delivers on. I swear the same people who like this trash are the ones you can throw paint buckets at a canvas and they say "Oh wow you can feel the artist's anger in this piece." Absolute garbage.
a very very bad movie . nothing to understand don't loose your time watching it
Batman Forever is probably the only movie I saw back to back at the theater. I enjoyed it a lot until I realized just how bad a lot of Batman's dialogue is. "I wouldn't fit in at a family pic-nic" or "I'll get drive-thru."
I must have had my brain shut off when I saw it back to back. The movie is fun if you don't think about how bad it is compared to the 1989 film before it.
Jim Carrey's over-acting along with Tommy Lee Jones' is a shame. Since they both would have been great in their roles if the film wasn’t so campy. If Carrey was told to tone it down and shut the F up and be more serious as the Riddler by a better director. He could have been great.
Kilmer isn’t a bad Bruce Wayne and is a better Bruce Wayne than he is Batman. Maybe because he has better lines as just Bruce.
I think the movie is well cast but the approach they took was definitely in the wrong direction. Batman & Robin is proof because that took a wrong direction and took the franchise straight off a cliff.
...and who knew that every fear in this movie would become a reality after a tragic terrorist attack in 2001.
mmaculate is a very good horror film. Great cinematography and soundtrack. Sydney Sweeney gives a great performance with a particularly striking finish.
They really should disable voting and commenting until a movie / TV show does release.
If you're looking for a cure for horniness then you've found it with this stunningly boring nonsense. Not even Emma Stone can save it.
