So much fun, so much energy! Gaga truly delivers and shows she’s a powerhouse performer
Awwww his wife Kathy's voice is so sweet... Reminds me of my grandma
"You ate someone just to go to the prom with me?"
Campy, B movie, mostly a rom minus some com.
Super young Matthew McConaughey and Philip Seymour Hoffman appearances as high schoolers
You always smoke non-filters? Yep.
Genius self-parody. I think a lot of people missed the point of what Joe Dante did here.
This is hands down one of the best pieces of animation I've ever seen in my entire life. (And Bugs looks so fabulous in it!)
There's no way they could top the first.
...but then they did
Different from the first in all the right ways while expanding its own identity. The villain becomes secondary to a larger plot in a natural way.
This sequel takes even more liberties with the art style and uses each dimension’s art to set them apart beyond just structure. Gwen’s universe in particular uses constantly shifting colors and focuses to show character emotions visibly, which I appreciated more the second viewing. The story, this time, still features Miles but isn’t only about him. At first, I was upset, but the film came to balance all the threads. I kept fluctuating between hating and loving other characters (Gwen). Also, this film isn’t afraid of silence and pauses, which was refreshing in this ‘constantly stimulated’ day and age.
Incredibly rare for the first and second to be this highly rated by me. The first is more emotional, second brings more conflict and group dynamics.
2hrs of watching a dude draw, and an older dude read intently in order to remember stuff WE SAW IN THE FIRST TWO FUCKING MOVIES!!
Very very pretty, and not much else. A succession of sentimental monologues and messages without much build up, but it's a children's story. Can't fault it too much for telling kids they are loved and to be kind and such, however blunt or clumsy.
An uneven, overstuffed yet still entertaining B-movie. This is a hilarious cross between a sloppy revenge thriller, a corny Hallmark Christmas film and a nasty splatter. One of the main problems of this film is that it suffers from trying to shove way too much. Overstuffed with sub-plots and flashback within flashback, interfering with the main plot. It reminds me of this film in terms of how overstuffed it is, though this is more competently made and generally more entertaining. There's too much going on in such a short runtime with a gory, shlocky splatter that comes in a little too late that I'm sure most people after watching the first 70mins will begin to worry. Thankfully, the third act ramps the fuck up and ultimately makes it a worthwhile watch.
You know this is Cinema when the movie makes you cry over rocks.
Funniest movie I have seen in years. There is no way Dr Strange In the Multiverse of Madness is going to do multiverse better.
Yeah, there's plot holes. But the movie is so damned funny you just don't care. When they first explained how the multiverse thing worked my reaction was "Really? Is that all?". But it just got better and better and better.
There's periods of the movie you're struggling to breathe you're laughing so hard, and others that are just slow, deep, and sad. It's heartbreaking and hilarious. Slow and a thousand miles per hour. Nothing happening and more happening than you can possibly keep track of at once.
This movie is, without a doubt, brilliant.
how could a film that bases an entire storyline around a Ratatouille joke not be absolutely fantastic?
Pattinson is the best Batman ever.
he is so tortured, his emotions are sincere. He's the darkest and most precise batman out there.
the visuals and the soundtrack are incredible and take you into the thoughts of the character.
For me it’s a masterpiece.
It was an OK "true crime-ish" movie.
I cannot believe the guy didn't do more time and that he's so bold to continue living this way. I also cannot believe that smart women still fall for these types of guys.
Watched this yesterday still can't believe this..I am so sorry for the victims i wish no one ever be in their position again.
This documentary was absolutely insane and incredibly frustrating to watch.
Ayleen Charlotte is such a boss and I love how she took matters into her own hands to try and find a solution. Love how she got him to experience how it feels to be scammed
I'm surprised how much I loved this. An amazing story. And a classic case of women, journalists and filmmakers doing the work that the police seem to have little interest in.
In a world of Simons, be more Ayleen.
If you looking for a true-crime doc to watch over Valentines this is it. Starts slow but stick with it by the end it gets crazy. I recommend going in blind .your in for a good time
Quite an interesting insight into a scam so elaborate that it could just as easily be a Hollywood film, not a documentary.
Meanwhile, it's quite pathetic how the victim-blaming discussed in the movie continues in the trakt comments
Can't even imagine the emotional and financial damage he inflicted upon so many women. Victim blaming is easy when you haven't been in the shoes of the other person. I'm glad they got their power back in some way, 'cause many of these assholes take advantage of discretion and these women made sure he was known for who he really is: a piece of shit, like one of them said, pathetic, definitely, and a criminal. Whoever's with him now won't be able to say they didn't know what they were getting into.
An absolute hoot and one of the highlights of Grimmfest ‘19 for me. Loved it.
The only thing I had in mind while watching this was:"This is what untreated mental illness looks like."
Vicious fun is right. The film is a little rough around the edges but it has a great sense of humour to balance its dark story. Has the potential to be a future cult classic so well worth a watch.
Great flick. The malfunctioning robots were my favourite parts.
Genuinely funny, with some great movie references hidden within, and a script that is sharper than the usual generic animated fare. More like this please Netflix.
Serotonin levels are going through the roof. Completely wacky and out there but it’s something the world really needs right now and somehow it just.. works? It keeps you invested throughout despite the crazy story it’s got going on. This would’ve been amazing to see at the cinema but I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait another goodness knows how long to finally see it. Finally, 3 words. Jamie. Dornan. Seagulls. This scene alone is worth the rental price. Do it if only to see that part, you won’t regret it
3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar’:
I didn’t want it to end.
Part Austin Powers. Part Romy and Michele. Pure sunshine.
It was ABSOLUTELY ridiculous — but somehow, some way, it worked so well. Loads of humor and heart. The perfect tonic after the past year. It makes me miss going to the movies even more.
Bonus Thought: I cannot WAIT to go on vacation again.
