Full of fascinating concepts and themes that don't quite coalesce, it's still slick and featuring strong performances like Randle's and Imperioli's to warrant a watch. Plus that Prince soundtrack!
Fourteen minutes of true to the franchise greatness! If only this would have continued as a series. It could have been AMAZING!
Far better than the actual film. I wish it could be a real movie...
I'm definitely going to miss Kate and Rick :(
I think I'll give this show a go since it looks like it ended before all the politically correct BS started after 2016. Any warnings would be helpful before I get to involved. And done. I enjoyed this show a lot. Ending was, well, I'm just saying.
For 8 years this has been one of my favorite shows. The charisma and childlike curiosity of Rick "Castle" is entirely enjoyable, and it was joyous to see the interactions with Kate, her typical procedure-centric attitude which occasionally revealed a similar mischievous persona underneath.
At some times this show was a standard (good) police procedural "murder of the week" type, but occasionally let itself stretch and entertain more fantastical story-lines. Secret underground bunkers stretching across NYC, a man who couldn't die, a hundred year battle against satanic cultists, a sword-fighting riddle hunt, and my favorite episode with actual ninjas.
Given the amazing cast of characters and story it was the greatest regret (and shock) to hear this show was canceled. It was obvious the showrunners didn't expect the cancellation either, as the season 8 finale ended up becoming the series finale, and it wasn't pretty. The show ended with a scene tacked onto the episode aftermath with only a voiceover and written screen message saying "7 years later". Makes me incredibly sad to have the show end this way, but I can say without hesitation that these 8 seasons are entirely worth watching. Sit tight and enjoy.
Trading Places is an absolute gem of an 80's comedy that still holds up today. The dynamic between Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd has great comedic timing, and the clever social commentary on class and wealth adds an extra layer of depth to the film. What's really impressive, though, is how unapologetically politically incorrect the movie is. It's refreshing to watch a comedy that doesn't hold back. In fact, it's hard to imagine this movie being made today with today's woke standards, which only makes it even more enjoyable.
the best episode of this show !
Much as Avatar took story elements from Dune, Dune takes the questionable box office success of Avatar. Along with that will come those blindly calling this "the greatest movie ever made" vaguely recalling it a decade from now.
The first part was a bit boring, overly focused on the Fremen world and how Paul and his mother were welcomed into the desert people. In the second part however, the pace was excessively hasty, at several moments you have the feeling that someone has pressed the fast forward button, and you find yourself out of breath at the end of the film. A real shame, because Dune part one was an authentic narrative masterpiece, and personally I had high expectations for part two. Of course, the photography is always amazing, and the acting is also excellent, but narratively the film was a disappointment. In the end it felt like I was watching the second episode of a TV series, waiting for part three (?).
Dune Part 2 is visually spectacular. The picture is stunning. Ignoring the worn-out tropes, the problem with the film is the lack of emotional attachment to characters. The scope is too big for its runtime which leads to underdeveloped players. The movie is so impressive, yet hollow.
The heartbreakingly sad tale of a former professional wrestler eking out a living in the amateur scene. Mickey Rourke is exceptional as the lead. You don't need to like wrestling to enjoy it.
in one sentence: made for modern audiences.
in one word: stupid.
Everything's been said already but what makes the movie even more unwatchable is the awful camera work. Doug is not a filmmaker that's known for his subtle directing but this felt like it was directed by someone with ADD.
Don't lie to yourselves, it's a really bad action movie.
"Caskett" confirmed !! Love this episode <3
Great episode, love Laura Prepon as Nikki Heat.
This show having only 2 seasons is my villain origin story and I’m entering my joker era as we speak
Man, you gotta love Ron Swanson, .. ehm.. I mean Karl Weathers! :)
One of my best comedy !
Extremely funny, what an adventure this movie was, definetely in my top 100 in favourite movies, 10/10!
I wish Seth would just come out so he can make gay jokes. Scott Thompson made a career out of it.
this episode was hilarious :joy: probably the best one yet. Laughed a lot. This series is definitely getting better.
Same bullshit approach as another previous movie about the life of Lamborghini. How these people take a life-story of a dude who built a world famous super car and make that story boring AF is beyond my comprehension. No automotive enthusiast starts watching these types of movies expecting elaborate scenes of the founder’s private life.
For every 1 minute of this movie where we see Ferrari working with his team discussing the building of cars and racing, we see 20 minutes of his private life related dumbfuckery. It almost feels like they shot those 1 in 20 interesting car related parts just to include in the trailer.
Penélope Cruz is one of the most overrated actresses, joined by Adam Driver who seem to have joined this movie to aim for an Oscar or something. Also, what's with the accents? Was that supposed to make the characters look authentic?
All this and the fact that the thing goes on for over 2 hours made the viewing experience somehow worse than that Lamborghini movie. No wonder this only made $35.9 million in box office after burning through a budget of $95 million. I have no idea where that $95 million went. Money Laundering, most probably :joy:.
Watch Ford v Ferrari instead of this https://trakt.tv/movies/ford-v-ferrari-2019 .
Good episode, could've easily been 20 minutes shorter though. They're clearly stretching things out to fill a 10-hour season.
It's not bad and pretty fun to watch, but it just needs that little extra to make it a 'good watch'.
