If you can't have fun with this movie than frankly you're a very boring person
Bedazzled is one of those movies I saw when I was younger and instantly loved it. Watching when I am older and 'mature', I still love it and now see the deppeer levels of the story. Can assure I will be watching this one again in the future. Lastly, Elizabeth Hurley in sexy outfits??!!?
It's not the best movie ever but Elizabeth Hurley is fun as the devil and seeing Brendan Fraser play so many different roles is entertaining.
I'm not sure why I like this movie so much. Maybe we all feel like Elliot sometimes, and wish we had a chance to change our lives in a blink.
Or maybe I like Liz Hurley in a red dress and am a sucker for a feel good ending.
On thing is for sure, this movie has aged well, and is just as watchable almost 20 years on.
This seems to be a remake of Joachim Hedén's previous film https://trakt.tv/movies/breaking-surface-2020 fwiw...
It probably comes to no ones surprise that everything that can go wrong does go wrong here and that is fine imho. The packages is well executed and they do just about everything you could do with the setting.
Better than this remake https://trakt.tv/movies/the-dive-2023
A diving film that does the job.
'Breaking Surface' doesn't set up its characters all that well, though once underwater the stakes are very much felt and the dangers that exist are made apparent. It does get unsettling in parts. Moa Gammel Ginsburg and Madeleine Martin are good value, though the former's Ida isn't as likeable as she ought to be; written a bit iffily.
This movie does offer some stunning visuals of the local landscapes. All in all, I'd say it's worth watching. The short 82 minute run time also ensures that events don't drag.
"Satan's greatest trick was convincing the world he doesn't exist."
I think this movie is an underrated movie for Arnold. Most people I talk to don't even know about it, and while watching this again I realized it wasn't a straight-to-dvd movie: It actually had a big budget and an interesting story. They don't shy away from talking about Satan and the horror element was great. Gabriel Byrne is the star of the show as Satan himself.
Who would have thought that Exorcist: Belieber would be a perfect movie for a nap?
Because man, what a boring piece of shit.
It's not scary or creepy. Its attempts to duplicate the editing from the 1973 film is a poor carbon copy. Ellen Burstyn's role in the movie is pathetic and a disservice to her character. I didn't give a shit about the fates of the two possessed girls.
This feels like every other Exorcist movie, as it brings nothing new.
The trailer for this made it look good. But what was delivered was like a cheap straight-to-dvd flick. The directing, the dialogue, the feel behind it, the talking while other things play visually.
It’s just, bad.
One of the best horror movies of all time.... just got one of the worst add-ons of all time. It's 2023, but the prosthetics look worse than they did in the 1970's. I can't believe this garbage is getting a new trilogy. Such a huge disappointment.
This was bad. I can't really tell you which is worse: the story, the dialogue, the directing or the acting. I was unable to find a single redeeming quality about this pile of dung. If I could say anything to David Gordon Green after this, it would be: "Please, stop."
Not your average horror comedy, a backwoods slasher but yet so much more.
Very tense! Had me on the edge of my seat for the most part. Unique concept for a film and even though it was mostly set in one place it totally worked.
There's no way they could top the first.
...but then they did
I'd like to say that I'm surprised by the hate for this film, but it's so blatantly obvious, it smacks you right in the face. The problem here is not film itself. It's a wonderfully directed piece by Nia DaCosta, who kept the tone fun and light-hearted and created a film that didn't take itself too seriously. The three leads had great chemistry together. I think that Iman Vellani is a tremendous talent and has a bright future ahead of her. The hate for this film derived from the fact this it was a woman-forward film, and not just women but women of color. And, many of the co-stars of this film were people of color, as well. White, Marvel fanboys don't tolerate women or people of color at all, and it's been shown not only in the Marvel Universe but in other films, as well. Women-centric films, and films depicting stories involving people of color, receive low ratings and poor reviews from many members of the public. It's undeserved, and it stifles creative outlets for anyone who isn't white, Christian, heterosexual, and cisgender male.
This was awesome. Quit being a bunch of joyless funhaters.
The haters are going to hate this movie. Mostly because they just default to hating Captain Marvel and Ms Marvel. Come in just looking for things to hate. But this movie is a LOT of fun. Go in in a light hearted mood. Numerous things had me laughing out loud in the cinema.
The end could have been wrapped up a bit faster.
And OMFG THE MID-CREDITS SCENE!!! OMGOMGOMOGOD!!! (there is no post-credits scene).
Should've called this "horny grandma"
I'm very conflicted on this film. I enjoyed Margot Robbie's performance as Stereotypical Barbie as well as Ryan Gosling's Ken. The set design is top notch and I loved the design of Barbie World. The costumes and makeup are also well done. But that's about as far as the positives go. While I thought Gosling stole the show, I wish that we saw more of the Kens and more of Allan, because Allan was hilarious. When it comes to the writing, it really falls flat. Most of the dialogue is spoon-feeding you the message instead of showing it through the film. I also thought that the mother character and her daughter were very under developed and felt very generic. I also found the film to be somewhat unrealistic when it came to the real world. The film was funny but felt more annoying and I wasn't very entertained. Just not for me.
As an older fan of the TMNT franchise, this one was genuinely fun. Enjoyed the animation style and the sound track was fitting. It had a simple plot but it didn’t need anymore. Looking forward to the next one.
The personality that oozes (heh) from this movie is off the charts, from the dramatically scratchy art style to the oh-so-New-York soundtrack. It's so refreshing to have Ninja Turtles who are actually teenagers and act accordingly, and their brotherhood is palpable and endearing throughout. It's frantic, it's frenetic, it's fraternal and it's fun. A great return for form for the Turtles that's a blast as a standalone movie as well. We're really in a renaissance for animated movies after what feels like a few years of phoned in ideas and dull sequels. Now to await the inevitable sequel and see how they handle Shredder .
I grew up watching the original cartoon, and having the ability to take my 2 kids to the theater to see this was just amazing. They loved it, I loved it, this movie just made me feel a lot of nostalgia, and seeing my kids loving it was just an amazing cherry on top!
Very charming and fun. I loved the dynamic of the teenagers as it felt very realistic. The animation is stunning and I'm glad that each character got enough screen time. Some dialogue was borderline cringe, but they're teens so it makes sense. It was very funny and I loved the overall message. Leonardo was my favorite because of him figuring out what it means to be a leader, which is a good lesson for kids. Older people have a lot to enjoy as well. Splinter was a lot better than I thought he was going to be. The structure as a whole was a bit too fast at times and some of the writing could have had improvements, but overall a great family film.
First off the Animation was excellent and similar to the “spider-verse” franchise. The film has a solid story about family, friendship and overcoming your fears. It’s simple yet meaningful. The story was obviously written for a more younger and modern audience, having references to TikTok dances and other things pop culture. As a 2003 and 2012 TMNT fan it did take some getting used to but by the end of the movie I loved almost everything about this. Can’t wait to see what’s next, 8/10.
While the jump scares can feel cheap and outside of the horror, it isn't that memorable. However, some scenes and visuals I thought were so terrifying that they shook me so much to my core and imprinted themselves in my mind.
Personally, I liked the first movie more. This one is trying to do a lot: not one, but THREE megs, another creature surprise, corporate espionage, swimming at 25,000 feet, secret evil base, dino doggos, uncle with the clicky button going all Jaws 4 with the psychic connection with the shark... (Jiuming made me cringe so much). It's a lot, and not really thought through. Just meh for me.
