Final Draft

In "Final Draft," James Van Der Beek embodies a writer's descent into the abyss. Although the storyline is compelling, it veers away from traditional horror, painting a more introspective picture of a writer's internal struggles.

Rupture

Rupture iss a commendable film that delves deep into the exploration of human potential and the essence of what it means to be human. The pacing is spot-on, ensuring the audience remains engaged throughout.

However, the narrative feels more like a pilot for a TV show rather than a standalone movie. It teases a premise that could be brilliantly expanded into a series, leaving viewers yearning for more.

Pentagram

While "Pentagram" offers an intriguing premise of teenagers trapped within a mysterious pentagram, the film falls short in its character development. A more nuanced portrayal of the characters would have significantly elevated the narrative. The lack of palpable tension between the main protagonists detracts from the suspense that such a plot demands.

Moreover, the subplot involving the group robbing a diner at gunpoint feels implausible, given the character dynamics presented. Predictability is another issue; the climax, rather than being a shocking revelation, is something one could see coming from the early stages of the film. In essence, "Pentagram" had the potential to be a gripping thriller, but it misses the mark due to its underdeveloped characters and foreseeable plot twists.

Beta Test

Steady acting but with the cast I would expect more. Good plot and concept one could only wonder with a bigger budget what this movie could have been. That aside pour the soda and grab the nachos this movie has some moxie.

The Devil's Candy

I love stumbling across horror movies. Most of the time it is an exercise in futility but this was truly a gen.

The Redwood Massacre

Has some decent moments. The pacing was off some for a horror movie.

Order of Chaos

In the vein of Swimming With Sharks Order to Chaos is one of those psychological dramas that questions human morality the pursuit of profit and how far one is willing to go to succeed.

The Purge

Nice to revisit this one. Enjoyed it much better the second around time. It drags at times and the antics of the teenaged daughter are annoying to say the least. Still the movie has pop and pulp.

Bastille Day

Enjoyed this movie quite a bit. Solid action, strong plot especially for an action movie. Gritty, hard hitting, action packed and cheesy dialogue.

Marvel's Jessica Jones: 1x03 AKA It's Called Whiskey

Definitely the ah ha moment of the series so far. The slow build up to revealing Kilgrave has been amazing folks this is suspense at its finest. The chemistry between Jessica and Cage is explosive and volatile. While this show is made for binge watching. The three episodes that I have seen so far have held up individually.

Solid movie. One of those good for a weekend viewing of action and explosion. I do not know how much of a spoiler this is but if you are watching this movie hoping to see some Seagal hand to hand action you will be disappointed. However, his shooting skills more than make up for it. Rob Van Dam strikes a view WWE poses and Tim Abell is the Sergeant you want leading your men into battle.
