The movie is pretty much a satire about Hollywood world but is also about the rise and fall of a star. Times change, so movies change too. And the ones that in one day are the better the prettiest and the most famous in the other day could be forgotten.
The screenplay is very well written and the acting by everyone was very good. But Gloria Swanson as Norma Desmond steals the show! She portrays the forgotten star from silent films, all she wants is to be famous again and that desire drove her to madness. We can really believe in her madness and she is pretty scary! A great performance from her.
Great classics like this will never get old. Need to see more from Billy Wilder.
very funny film, really good and a great directorial debut .
excellent, watch it with your ma!
I had great hopes for Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones after the let down of Episode I. I thought that it would get better but it ended up being even worse.
I was expecting to see how Anakin Skywalker developed his training and how he finally became a Jedi. I guess that would have been interesting to see. George Lucas was more concerned about creating one of the worst love stories in cinema! Anakin and Padmé's love story seems so forced! Their scenes together were supposed to be romantic but in fact they bored me a lot. Also their dialogues, well all dialogues in the film are absolutely terrible!
Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman had no chemistry! Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman are two great actors but this plot couldn't do nothing for their performances, poor guys. Hayden Christensen is just bad, very bad. They should have chosen another actor to play the role.
Yoda is still awesome!
This might as well be my favorite Marvel movie so far. Action, drama and comedy are balanced at perfection and it has a sky-high replay level. This movie is a game changer, and the Guardians will definitely claim their role as one of Marvel's most promising franchises.
The friend zone has been taken to a whole new mechanical level.
I don´t think "The Lost World" is on the same level as the first part. It´s just more of the same without being better in any regard. And the last 30 min where just too much, this was almost a complete other story within the movie. Didn´t like that at all.
The great thing about this movie is that it knows what it is, a mindless destruction flick, and rarely tries to be something more. Most of the effect are great, and the Rock... Is the Rock.
Absolutely recommended if you want to shut down your brain and have a lot of fun.
Excellent movie ! Brings back good.. and bad memories from the 80s!
Absolute genius. If you love comedy and 80's movies, then this is for you. I now know Kung Fu!
As cheesy and campy as this movie is, it's so much so that you can't help but get wrapped up in nostalgia. From the characters, to the outrageous and over the top 80's effects this movie is perfect for a laugh. This is not going to be for everyone, but at only 30 minutes long it's worth the quick laughs!
Everyone is missing the most important part of the movie.. That haircut.. W-H-Y?!
This movie is pretty bad ... Compared to the previous one it's bad , not compared to the previous one it's still bad ... (It could interest you if you are a teenage girl though ... )
The end... yeah we're part of an experiment and were isolated from humankind for 200 years. yippie... idiocy
Oh hi trakt
While still funny and immensely entertaining, I confess I was a little disappointed with Deadpool. With this character, they had an opportunity to make a completely ridiculous and nonsensical superhero movie, and what we got as another generic plot following the tired origin story / damsel-in-distress formula, with a bit of crude humor and 4th-wall breaking mixed in. I almost wonder if that was the cost for finally getting this movie made.
A two and a half hours boring, depressing mess. In short, Zack Snyder.
And the dream sequences take more screen time then the actual BvS fight. Who thought this was a good idea?
I've got what I expected. As a fan of 80s movies as Commando, etc. I love sometimes watch this type of movies. Don't find anything there, it's just action movie with all it needs.
A lovely feel good movie. Worth a watch if you need a bit of a lift.
Buddy Cop genre at it's finest.
This was crazy and good. It was crazy good. A magical flatulent bromance.
Not terrible, not great, just... fine. Easily the worst of the new trilogy. Script-wise it was a real letdown from DoFP and First Class, and Apocalypse as a villain is stereotypical and brings nothing new to the table. Oscar Isaac was so wasted in this role.
While being a complete deus-ex-machina, the Quicksilver scene is again the best in the movie.
MORTAL KOMBAT!
The best Resident Evil movie in my opinion! Quiet enjoyable, fast-paced and a lot of action. I would recommend this flick although the plot still has not very much depth...
Action is still good but the plot is becoming weird and (at least for a non-player like myself) illogical. It seems that a lot of things are simply done for the sake of doing them. Why the mutations ? Where does that big dude come from ? I´m not expecting deep storys here, I was OK with the first three movies. But at least some logic would be nice.
And as far as CGI goes - the first movies were much better as they did a lot more practical whereas here it´s almost all green screen. And it´s showing again that practical effects are better at standing the test of time.
I wanted to love this so much, but it just felt... Empty. The characters didn't connect at all and the Fantastic Beasts themselves felt like an afterthought to the franchise they're actually trying to build.
Overall a watchable movie with some charming moments but damaged by a muddy story and atrocious pacing. I expected more from the HP universe.
Finally, I saw Frankenstein!
I liked it, it is good and it is definitely a mark in the history of Cinema but I must confess that I thought this Horror Classic would blow me away and it didn't.
Although I think it needed more creepiness in the atmosphere, I didn't felt that as much as I needed. Another thing that bothered me a bit was also the over the top acting, very teatrical. It should have been more natural.
The Frankenstein Monster is a memorable character! A huge and strong creature that never asked to be in the world. Boris Karloff was great incarnating this beast. I found Fritz maybe a bit too silly although I know he is supposed to be really mad. The set design is amazing, some of the sets are very well done!
It may not have the impact that it had in 1931 but it's definitely a remarkable work that needs to be seen.
I was really looking forward to this movie but was utterly disappointed. The story was just flat and didn't really connect well. At least there were a few funny moments and the soundtrack as well as effects were great. The actors were not that good and most of the story was predictable – so no surprises as with the original Harry Potter franchise.
Not quite as fantastic as I hoped it would be... in fact at times it was downright boring. Sometimes the film falls flat, the actors (or characters) not always connecting in an interesting way. There is scope for the franchise, Newt is an interesting character but Redmayne (who I think is a great actor) played him too low key and that didn't work for me.
However, I will probably watch it again. The story gets more interesting as it progresses but not as magical as I thought it would.
AND... Johnny Depp, I love you, I really do... but gone are the days when a cameo by you in a pivotal role is a surprise, its just tired filmmaking.
It was alright. 6-6.5 for me. it wasn't amazing for sure.
