Recommendation : :white_check_mark:
To me, this anime is a remarkable piece of work. The world-building, the stunning visuals, and the voice acting (especially in my language) are particularly impressive. The visuals alone are a feast for the eyes. It's proof that you don't always need a colossal budget to make something exceptional. It just needs to distinguish itself from the rest. The narrative was so immersive, I found myself completely absorbed in the story.
Extra :
The origin of the adaptation is finished. Even if the anime is canceled due to lack of interest (which of course I don't want), we can always turn to the manga with complete peace of mind. Personally, I find that the anime elevates the source material with its superior visual presentation, enhancing the overall experience.
The weird thing about this show is that it is so awfully written, yet the humor is amazing.
This show was absolutely fabulous! It evoked emotions spanning the whole range from heartbreak to heartwarming, with plenty of laughs in the middle. All four main characters had compelling and intense emotional journeys, and it was so amazing to see four fantastic growth arcs in a single show.
The acting was great, as was the plot and OST. Really, there was not a second wasted, and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey I was took on. I almost wish it would have kept on going.
Can't recommend enough!
I liked it. a good love story about a kid who falls in love and learns about what age difference really means for her and people around her. But she is also trying to live her dreams. love the optimism and also some sad parts that were so pure.
an amazing, very progressive show. a comedy that knows how to be funny without being rude. lots of puns. a strong and very well developed found family trope with a diverse cast. even after four season they are still going strong with the same brand of silly, funny humor.
has the potential to be the best drama of the year for sure.
Surprisingly Good Prosecutors do exist and so do feel good prosecutor dramas
Diary of a Prosecutor is really the dairy of Lee Sun-Woong ; with Lee Sun-Kyun voice this drama can even be sold as a podcast.
It all starts with petty rivalry between Lee Sun-Woong ; who is empathetic in his decisions and Cha Myung-Joo who is focused on closing cases and lacks empathy due to her past burdens. Initially this is a good enough hook and each episodes deals with a new social issue and how the prosecutors deal with it .. whether they made an error of judgement or not ..understandably they are human.
In middle They suddenly bring in the wife and kid of Pro.Lee to kill any thoughts of romance and the show slightly gets less interesting as the focus is no longer just between Pro.Lee and Pro.Cha . We start to focus on other characters and some petty office politics starts with abuse of authority coming into play along with corruption and this drama starts to become another dereaded prosecutor drama that deals with corruption.
In the end , the essence of the story doesn't change and shows how prosecutors learn from their mistakes.
Lee Sun-Kyun , as Lee Sun-Woong , is the alter ego of his character Park Dong-Hoon , he is petty , emotional but still has the same empathy. He is by no means a perfect prosecutor nor does he always fight for justice or follow the law but his moral compass is set to certain standards and he is not going to drop it for any one including the Chief he admired at the end.
Jung Rye-won as Cha Mung-Joo is opposite of Pro.Lee ; she has a pocker face and follows the book of law while managing to avoid being in the hot seat for disobedience.
The other 3 prosecutors have also performed well as a cast although their prosecution records never improved . The investigators and other staff were also a laughing riot. S
Although unexpected I have enjoyed the show despite it lacking any romance and with it would have been even more better experience. Despite that this is a show for all that are tired of prosecutor dramas that focus on corruptions and this shows the daily life of a normal prosecutor who is not chasing power and just serving the nation.
They finally nailed a live action anime adaptation! We better get a season two, don’t just forever tease us with Smoker at the end there. 10/10 all the way!
Because my expectations were so low and I was on the bad wagon that's it's definitely gonna' fail.
it actually surprised me because how good it's made and without being woke like all the other netflix shows. And as an OP anime fan, I definitely sense the essence of Oda in this show.
I would definitely watch a S02 of this.
Yeah...... so I went from "wtf is this crap?" 10 minutes into episode 1, to absolutely loving the show by the end of the final episode. 8/10 from me. Never seen the anime original but will definitely check it out while I wait for season 2 of the live action.
Ok I'm gonna be honest here. One Piece live action is really really good and underappreciated. There are some problems but not everyone's gonna notice and it's not gonna bother most. But the thing that's actually gonna bother is its slow pacing which is not bad as it was needed for the World Building but pacing could have been better. It's a slow burn but worth a watch. I'm not gonna say it's the best live action adaptation of any anime but safety is one of the best live action adaptation. The cast is amazing, stets are really cool, VFX and CGI shots aren't bad or anything.
P.S. All the actors did an amazing job especially the one paying Luffy.
I think revenge plots are my favourite in kdramas xD But also so many unexplained things and missed opportunities for actors to shine more.
We never got a reveal for Jun Kyoung that Ari is dead and also that Ari might be alive. I wanted this so bad only for the purpose to see actors talent bc i was mesmerized about his ability to convey emotions so quickly and clearly as he did during the kiss scene. He was focused on reading Aris emotions then in a second he was shocked but then the feeling and determination changed his face i was so excited to see more for him but we didnt get that.
I would also love to see aftermath for every celebrity at the end. After some time not like during which we got. Did Angela became a full on prostitute? And what with the others? Some quickly decreasing followers numbers and maybe their occupations afterwards would be amazing.
What also bugs me the most is we never saw why/how Aris family bancrupted, we didnt get answers for her "uncle" and mothers behaviour. They just were like that without us knowing the full story. Also why Ari hated on Jun Kyoung that much at the beginning, even if its for his money and being treated like royalty we dont know WHY she hates that kind of behaviour. I was constantly thinking that it had to be bc how ppl treated her after her family's downfall. Why Jun Kyoung hated drugs so much that he was disgusted with Ari just being next to the drugs? So many questions.
I understand Aris decision at the end but I would love for her to maybe use her channel to help others, maybe to talk about honesty, loyality and anti hater stuff. Naive... but would be very hopeful.
This show will break your heart, but it's ok becase it'll help piece it together afterwards. And there's no sweetest happiness that the one that comes after heartache. The laughs and the tears, this show has them both.
The drama was phenomenal. From the writing, to the acting, cast and OST. It was great all around. It lightly touched upon on the philosophy of life and death, how lightness and darkness are both sides of the same coin and you can't have one without the other. The garden metaphor and the deity living as a forever terminally ill patient was an interesting take on the more religious aspect of the story too.
And don't even get me started on the main couple. Their chemistry just jumped out of the screen. It was impossible not to root for them. I sincerely hope they'll work together again someday.
I don't know yet what drama I'll be watching next, but I feel bad for it given the large shoes it'll have to fill.
This one reminded me of why I started watching kdramas in the first place. Tons of fun, a very engaging storyline and an amazing cast, Chief Kim had a unique brand of humour that was super addictive, and managed to keep things light even when the story dealt with very serious issues like corrupt companies, embezzling and slush funds. Highly recommended!
To quote the great Dave Wasserman, “I’ve seen enough!” After 3 episodes I can confidently score this one a 10. This will be right there with The Ice Guy for my AOTY.
I was expecting yet another teenage romance series set in high school, and I not going to lie those elements are still present, but the delivery is just too wholesome, I can't stop smiling throughout the episodes and feeling happy for the cast when the resolution to the "conflict" of the chapter gets resolved. This anime is truly good for the soul („ᵕᴗᵕ„)
At the half of the season, it looks like the romantic plot will have more airtime, which is a shame because I am really enjoying the non-romantic relationships that we have seen so far but if it manages to keep the same air of innocence it probably won't be that bad
If I have to brief it, in an anime season full of bangers, this is a breeze of fresh air that we did not know we needed
Ended up being more invested in it than I thought I would. The MC's ability was fascinating and the story kept me hooked with all the suspense and what not. Pretty bummed about how things turned out for a pair I had hope for, but overall pretty satisfactory!
The art in this is incredible. I just can't get enough, and I love the concept so much. It's nice to see something like this - it's been a while since something this cool has been around imo.
loved all the movie references etc in the opening, and i really liked how each ep had a different ending, those were the true gems of this anime
the animation was great, can't wait to see how season 2 turns out, especially with the story;
i really loved that episode where Makima uses her powers, that scene was wonderful, and well executed
My expectations were blown away, the story is over the top and the animation is phenomenal. Chainsaw Man (チェンソーマン) is one of the best from Shonen Jump and one of the best animes I have seen, week to week is killing me. Denji is a fun and charismatic character who can turn into a human chainsaw and stumbles into the world of Devil hunting. Can't get enough of this show and Studio Mappa have done a fantastic job with the production and animation.
One word best describe this anime:
Beautiful
MY THOUGHTS ON CASTLEVANIA:
-WARNING: Spoilers Below-
I'm going to start this off strong and say this... I honestly believe Castlevania is the best TV Show to Animation adaption that I have seen. Everything it does was done perfectly. The action was amazing, the dialogue was amazing, the characters were well written, extremely fleshed out and very believable and finally the plot was great. There'es not much more I could have asked from this show.
Of course with most shows there's boring episodes or even seasons and Castlevania was one of those shows but does that make it any less of a show? No. Even with some bad or boring episodes in my eyes Castlevania still manages to be one of the best video game animation adaptations that I have seen. I'm honestly quite gutted that I won't be seeing anymore seasons of this, I really hope the team behind this are thinking of something new.
Overall Castlevania was a brilliant Animation and I'll forever remember it fondly, It's a shame it had to end but all good things must end. I'll miss this one and hopefully one day we get to see some more. If you're looking for an Animation that has some good action scenes, great characters and a good plot then I definitely recommend this. My only concern is at times it definitely drags on and gets a bit stale and boring but if you look past those episodes you'll enjoy it.
Overall rating: 7/10.
What the fuck did I just watch? This is the biggest clusterfuck of a movie I've ever watched, it feels like it was written by 20 different people. But no, just damien chazelle. As someone who's seen whiplash and la la land multiple times, this movie is offensively shit. Whiplash and la la land were so tightly written and brilliantly executed, what the hell happened damien? Were you even trying to make a good movie? Did you get tired of screenwriting?? That would explain why the dialogue and writing are so god awful, but the directing and music are still great as per usual. This movie doesn't even really have characters, more just caricatures and mouthpieces for shitting on hollywood. I'd expect this trash from some pretentious art student, not the guy who made fucking whiplash. This movie feels like such a slap in the face by one of the best directors of our time, what happened damien chazelle?
I think moat people can't do movies anymore without being explicit, then they call it art.
It's just poor and has been done before, learn to tell stories. Waist of time.
Touching, Nostalgic, Absolutely, Wonderfully Magical.
I feel like this is a well-made show that addresses a lot of important questions, thus the rating. However, the actual watching often felt like suffering, because it's mentally very difficult to watch children/teens suffer non-stop. I can't rate it badly just on this, but it's kind of graphic with its trauma themes — you've been warned.
The middle episodes dragged a bit for me but the first few and last few episodes were SO STRONG.
One thing I want to note is that I really loved the excellent communication featured in this drama. I'm obsessed with how the characters actually listened to other characters when they were speaking, even if they hated each other. Seeing characters with "I am always right" attitudes hearing other opinions and modifying their own views as appropriate was a sublime experience — this behavior is surprisingly rare nowadays, especially on the interwebs. Also shout-out to Judge Shim's eloquence; my gosh, she has a way with words.
A simple script but extremely well executed with a lot of hearts, full of jaw-dropping visuals and great sounds.
The definition of a well-produced movie. It deserves all the praise it's getting.
Way better than it needs to be, or is expected from films like these nowadays.
It’s pretty much perfectly produced, and you can tell they really went the extra mile with these action scenes and their presentation, which paid off in dividends (great sound design in particular!)
They also wisely toned down the amount of cheese and propaganda compared to the first one, though it’s still there to some extent.
For example, you still get a scene of the main characters playing sports games in the Californian sunset, while a terrible One Republic song plays in the background.
The writing in general is a little basic. They found a good way to deepen Maverick as a character emotionally, and the new additions to the cast are all fine, but everything sort of falls into place in the way you’re expecting during the first 2 acts. Take the scenes with Jennifer Connely. She’s clearly trying very hard with what she’s given to do, but she’s ultimately just the obligatory love interest, making her scenes feel like filler. There are also a few too many times the exposition repeats itself, too many deus ex machinas moments, and there’s an arc that’s set up with Ed Harris’ character that’s never paid off.
It seemed like a scene got cut from the end that was meant to complete that arc, because instead you just get a quick montage to wrap up the other loose ends, while a terrible Lady Gaga song plays in the background.
The writing got a little more interesting in the third act, which is where the movie basically turns into Mission Impossible. Our main characters are given an ‘impossible’ mission, things don’t go according to plan, and Tom Cruise has to figure a way out of this. It’s a great formula that just works, with tension that’s constantly rising and a good sense of physicality.
Ultimately, the extremely well shot and edited action scenes are the selling point and most memorable part of this film. The movie around that is acceptable, but could’ve been more creative and tighter.
8/10
