Surprisingly Good Prosecutors do exist and so do feel good prosecutor dramas
Diary of a Prosecutor is really the dairy of Lee Sun-Woong ; with Lee Sun-Kyun voice this drama can even be sold as a podcast.
It all starts with petty rivalry between Lee Sun-Woong ; who is empathetic in his decisions and Cha Myung-Joo who is focused on closing cases and lacks empathy due to her past burdens. Initially this is a good enough hook and each episodes deals with a new social issue and how the prosecutors deal with it .. whether they made an error of judgement or not ..understandably they are human.
In middle They suddenly bring in the wife and kid of Pro.Lee to kill any thoughts of romance and the show slightly gets less interesting as the focus is no longer just between Pro.Lee and Pro.Cha . We start to focus on other characters and some petty office politics starts with abuse of authority coming into play along with corruption and this drama starts to become another dereaded prosecutor drama that deals with corruption.
In the end , the essence of the story doesn't change and shows how prosecutors learn from their mistakes.
Lee Sun-Kyun , as Lee Sun-Woong , is the alter ego of his character Park Dong-Hoon , he is petty , emotional but still has the same empathy. He is by no means a perfect prosecutor nor does he always fight for justice or follow the law but his moral compass is set to certain standards and he is not going to drop it for any one including the Chief he admired at the end.
Jung Rye-won as Cha Mung-Joo is opposite of Pro.Lee ; she has a pocker face and follows the book of law while managing to avoid being in the hot seat for disobedience.
The other 3 prosecutors have also performed well as a cast although their prosecution records never improved . The investigators and other staff were also a laughing riot. S
Although unexpected I have enjoyed the show despite it lacking any romance and with it would have been even more better experience. Despite that this is a show for all that are tired of prosecutor dramas that focus on corruptions and this shows the daily life of a normal prosecutor who is not chasing power and just serving the nation.
I think revenge plots are my favourite in kdramas xD But also so many unexplained things and missed opportunities for actors to shine more.
We never got a reveal for Jun Kyoung that Ari is dead and also that Ari might be alive. I wanted this so bad only for the purpose to see actors talent bc i was mesmerized about his ability to convey emotions so quickly and clearly as he did during the kiss scene. He was focused on reading Aris emotions then in a second he was shocked but then the feeling and determination changed his face i was so excited to see more for him but we didnt get that.
I would also love to see aftermath for every celebrity at the end. After some time not like during which we got. Did Angela became a full on prostitute? And what with the others? Some quickly decreasing followers numbers and maybe their occupations afterwards would be amazing.
What also bugs me the most is we never saw why/how Aris family bancrupted, we didnt get answers for her "uncle" and mothers behaviour. They just were like that without us knowing the full story. Also why Ari hated on Jun Kyoung that much at the beginning, even if its for his money and being treated like royalty we dont know WHY she hates that kind of behaviour. I was constantly thinking that it had to be bc how ppl treated her after her family's downfall. Why Jun Kyoung hated drugs so much that he was disgusted with Ari just being next to the drugs? So many questions.
I understand Aris decision at the end but I would love for her to maybe use her channel to help others, maybe to talk about honesty, loyality and anti hater stuff. Naive... but would be very hopeful.
MY THOUGHTS ON CASTLEVANIA:
-WARNING: Spoilers Below-
I'm going to start this off strong and say this... I honestly believe Castlevania is the best TV Show to Animation adaption that I have seen. Everything it does was done perfectly. The action was amazing, the dialogue was amazing, the characters were well written, extremely fleshed out and very believable and finally the plot was great. There'es not much more I could have asked from this show.
Of course with most shows there's boring episodes or even seasons and Castlevania was one of those shows but does that make it any less of a show? No. Even with some bad or boring episodes in my eyes Castlevania still manages to be one of the best video game animation adaptations that I have seen. I'm honestly quite gutted that I won't be seeing anymore seasons of this, I really hope the team behind this are thinking of something new.
Overall Castlevania was a brilliant Animation and I'll forever remember it fondly, It's a shame it had to end but all good things must end. I'll miss this one and hopefully one day we get to see some more. If you're looking for an Animation that has some good action scenes, great characters and a good plot then I definitely recommend this. My only concern is at times it definitely drags on and gets a bit stale and boring but if you look past those episodes you'll enjoy it.
Overall rating: 7/10.
Way better than it needs to be, or is expected from films like these nowadays.
It’s pretty much perfectly produced, and you can tell they really went the extra mile with these action scenes and their presentation, which paid off in dividends (great sound design in particular!)
They also wisely toned down the amount of cheese and propaganda compared to the first one, though it’s still there to some extent.
For example, you still get a scene of the main characters playing sports games in the Californian sunset, while a terrible One Republic song plays in the background.
The writing in general is a little basic. They found a good way to deepen Maverick as a character emotionally, and the new additions to the cast are all fine, but everything sort of falls into place in the way you’re expecting during the first 2 acts. Take the scenes with Jennifer Connely. She’s clearly trying very hard with what she’s given to do, but she’s ultimately just the obligatory love interest, making her scenes feel like filler. There are also a few too many times the exposition repeats itself, too many deus ex machinas moments, and there’s an arc that’s set up with Ed Harris’ character that’s never paid off.
It seemed like a scene got cut from the end that was meant to complete that arc, because instead you just get a quick montage to wrap up the other loose ends, while a terrible Lady Gaga song plays in the background.
The writing got a little more interesting in the third act, which is where the movie basically turns into Mission Impossible. Our main characters are given an ‘impossible’ mission, things don’t go according to plan, and Tom Cruise has to figure a way out of this. It’s a great formula that just works, with tension that’s constantly rising and a good sense of physicality.
Ultimately, the extremely well shot and edited action scenes are the selling point and most memorable part of this film. The movie around that is acceptable, but could’ve been more creative and tighter.
8/10
#Review
After the incredibly awesome second season ended with a bit of a whimper as it set up what was to come, I became a little worried for this season. However, after watching this I can safely say this is my favourite season yet of a show that keeps getting better and doesn't show any signs of stopping.
This season featured a lot more divergent storylines and characters than the previous one, so I'll quickly talk about my thoughts on each one. The most central of the storylines followed Trevor and Sypha as they arrive in a town with some pretty peculiar people populating it. This I was not expecting, as it was a lot more toned down than the non-stop action I had anticipated, instead opting to craft a detailed and intricate mystery. I thought this was an excellent choice, and every sequence set in this town absolutely gripped me. There were also some great character additions in this storyline. Jason Isaac's The Judge was an intriguing character that continuously got more interesting throughout, while Bill Nighy's Saint Germain is easily the most interesting addition to the cast and I do hope we get to see more of him in future seasons. The other plot I found incredibly engaging was Isaac, who went from being an intriguing yet underdeveloped side character in the second season to being one of the most investing and badass characters in the show. The big climax of his storyline was absolutely incredible, and the voice work for him was stellar. The other storylines were less action-packed, and didn't manage to be as high in quality (though they were also featured less). The stuff with Carmilla and her sisters plotting their schemes was interesting enough, though the entire thing was just set-up for the next season, while the Alucard plotline, though never boring, did seem utterly detached from the rest of the show and ultimately a little pointless.
The animation in this show continues to improve season after season, with this season having some absolutely stunning pieces of animation. There are a bunch of sequences that just made my jaw drop, with a long tracking shot in the penultimate episode and a dream one of the main characters have being the standouts. The landscapes were all gorgeous, especially Carmilla's castle, while the action only improved with incredibly smooth movement and some ridiculously awesome kills.
Overall, Castlevania continues to be one of the best animations out there with a storyline that rivals even shows like Game of Thrones in terms of the number of moving parts, along with continuing the trend of slowly developing its character and providing some of the best action you will see on television at the moment, live-action or animated.

All relationships are beautiful and precious and everyone deserves happiness
Sometimes a show comes along that is so insightful, so unexpectedly profound and so transcendently beautiful that you are left without adequate words to describe it. This is that show.
“A story about three brothers in their 40s and a girl in her 20s facing the hardships of life and helping each other through the process.” The initial description of “My Ahjussi” was something along these lines, and as far as the storyline goes, that is enough to tell you the essence of it.
A look at the daily lives of three middle aged men and a young girl. How interesting could it be? Very Very .. just be patient for 2 episodes
What could possibly be happening in their lives that makes it engaging enough to have a whole show about them? Lots
Is it something extraordinary? Definitely not.
Is it something you have never seen before? Not really.
But, is it worth watching? Oh god yes.
This show has fascinated me more than any other K-drama so far. If you ask me why, I probably won’t be able to tell you a specific reason. After all, what is so fascinating about going to work, walking your co-worker home, and drinking in a bar with your friends? What is so fascinating about 2 brothers running a cleaning service together? I don’t know. But after you see this show you will see that it most definitely is.
The cinematography is stunning. Just like how many people said, it's like you are watching a movie within each episode. It's stunning in a way that is effective to convey the story and mood, and the beauty of each character. There is not one character I dislike, not even the bad ones, because they are all so compelling.
First of all, the three brothers. I really can’t tell which one of them did a better job, they were all phenomenal. Each of them with a different, yet still similar path in life, each of them facing their own problems, yet managing to get through them just because they are together. You could see the pain in their eyes through each and every scene, even in the scenes when they were laughing. This is especially true for the oldest brother ( Sang-hoon), it seemed as if he could break down in tears in any moment. Just by looking into their eyes you could almost feel the burdens they are carrying.
And Lee Sun-Kyun…well…I really can’t see anybody else portraying the “Ahjussi” role. He was born for this drama. Everything he did was just so perfect. A friend worth keeping, a son that makes you proud, a brother that is always by your side, and ˜˜a husband….yeah˜˜ ; I’m not quite sure how to put that last one. Nevertheless, all three of them managed to play their parts so well that you just see the characters, you forget about the actors.
From all the K-pop singers that I’ve seen in dramas,IU is the only one left a positive impression on me ; I am watching her here after Hotel Del Luna and the emotions she delivers with that baby face. Some may say that you don’t need much acting skills to just walk around with a frozen face and your head down, and barely say anything, but I think that that was definitely not the case here. Quite the opposite actually, she gave away so much by saying so little. You could see that she was full of emotions behind that emotionless face, and the way she managed to show us that was really unique. Small, weak, fragile at first glance, but tough, dedicated to her goal, and ultimately warm-hearted as the drama progresses. “The girl that is always underdressed for the weather” as Ahjussi described her, perfectly portrayed what it means to truly care for someone. Every moment of screen time with her was a pleasure to watch in both shows ; she mesmerized me by her dress and makeup in Lune while no makeup tomboyish looks here are even more captivating in this character.
All the other characters did an amazing job as well. Lee Ji-Ah gave us a mixture of emotions going from extreme hatred to even, believe it or not, sympathy at some points. The CEO and his helpers easily made us despise them, while Jung Hee and Yoora (Nara and Nara) were loveable from start to finish. Even the monk, which we didn’t see a lot of, felt like he had a big impact in the drama. That is just a hint of how good everybody was.
the soundtrack…oh the soundtrack… all the melancholy songs this show had actually make me happy when I hear them now, simply because they remind me of “My Ahjussi”. This song tears me up when i remind of the ending

There is no one particular thing that is special in this show, but all the elements of it put together make an extraordinary masterpiece. The actors, the characters, the music, the atmosphere, everything fits so perfectly. The story is not abrupt, it doesn’t have many dramatic moments, yet it can go from heart-breaking to heart-warming in an instant. It is not this fast paced show that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to end, but it is rather this soft field filled with snow that you will find yourself falling in more and more with each episode. And after it ended, of all the things that can be said about “My Ahjussi”, all I could really mumble was….WOW. You know a show has been exceptional when it makes you feel so satisfied that you watched something so beautiful, yet leaves you with a void in your heart, because it is over and you won’t get to see any more of it.
I guess if you're the type to prefer fluffy, lovey dovey, Kdrama cliche type of dramas, then this won't be for you. My Mister is completely different in terms of the "Kdrama formula." You wouldn't like the ending if you are expecting a typical K-Drama fairy tale ending. Even i was hoping the fairy tale ending which is one of the reasons i didnt pick the show for over a month but after watching it I am totally satisfied but I am greedy and hence i rate it 9/10
“The Whole Word is watching!”
The Trial of the Chicago 7 is a powerful and masterfully made court room drama. This was one of my most anticipated films of the year and I went into this with pretty high expectations. I’m a huge fan of The Social Network so I knew that I would most likely end up loving this film. I was honestly surprised at how fantastic this turned out to be, also I did not expect to give this a 5 star rating at all. The plot is great it’s a dramatic and powerful story. It’s sad that this story is very politically relevant although the events happened over 50 years ago.
I can’t help but love a good court room drama and this is the modern court room drama format at it’s finest. From beginning to end themes/emotions such as loyalty, racism, corruption, and frustration are expertly presented. The pacing is great my eyes where glued to the screen the whole time there wasn’t a single moment where it feels boring or slow mainly because such an engaging story is being told.
The acting is fantastic Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne, and Jermey Strong give fantastic performances. Alex Sharp, Mark Rylance, Frank Langella, John Carol Lynch, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, and Jason Gordon-Levitt give great performances as well. This film seriously has a cast stacked with talent and passion. Sacha Baron Cohen steals every scene he is in and probably give the best performance of the cast though. The direction is very good from Aaron Sorkin although he is a lot better of a screen writer than he is a director his direction skills are still pretty impressive. Sorkin’s script is truly phenomenal as well.
Sorkin crafts once again a masterpiece of a screenplay. It’s a swift and incredibly intelligent script with tons of one day to be iconic pieces of dialogue. The cinematography is really good but nothing memorable or unique. The editing is phenomenal this film has some of the swiftest and smoothest editing in recent years. In terms of the Oscars I feel this will sweep most of the big categories. This will no doubt get nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor: Sacha Baron Cohen, Best Editing, and Best Original Screenplay. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this wins Best Picture and Original Screenplay. The ending is an emotional and uplifting ending that leaves you in awe of what you just watched. Overall The Trial of the Chicago 7 is a dramatic and intense film that is definitely the best film of 2020 so far.
