I don't know what all these other whiny bitches are complaining about but I love this show and have enjoyed all seasons. Once the initial excitement for something "new" wore off the show got comfortable in its mythology and got more exciting and fun. Some people just can't be satisfied no matter how great the show is.
The only thing I didn't like about this episode was that Bill died, meaning we didn't get to see him interact with Ellie, which was a wonderful part of the original game.
Aside from that, this episode is near faultless. It's the most original thing the show has done so far, by taking a side character from the game and fleshing out his backstory. It's deep, it's emotional, and it's a joy to watch.
Anyone complaining about wokeness and forced LGBT content has no clue what they're talking about. Bill and Frank were always a couple, even in the game. It's just that we didn't meet Frank in the game because he was already gone. Literally the only part of any of this episode that is not faithful to the source material is the fact that Bill died before Joel and Ellie got there.
I really enjoyed this, bit of fun, lighthearted entertainment.
Having only watched this version, I legitimately do not see how it could possibly be the lesser one. Kate is probably the single most entertaining reality TV contestant since New York, and the end game is just utterly wild. I'm excited to check out the UK and Dutch versions soon but this is a high, high, high benchmark to beat.
I really loved this episode!!!
At first I couldn't understand how this silence would work for a whole movie and keep me gripped, but boy was I wrong. By the end i was totally invested. Great silent acting by all.
Full disclosure - I am a wimp. I do not do horror flicks because my imagination is so much more terrifying than any movie can reproduce and even the trailer clips of this movie were terrifying. But, I was also intrigued, and it was nominated for an Oscar. I am so glad I took a deep breath and sat down to watch this. This is brilliantly written. The performances were totally captivating and the sound wizards were on their A-game. At one point, in the midst of all the painstaking quiet, there was a noise in my room and I involuntarily reached out to silence it, so as to not be heard. For other wimps, it is the tension that grabs you in this movie, not blood, gore or even the monsters but the slow, sheer build up of intense suspense. Well done John Krasinski et al. I give this film a 9 (superb) out of 10. (Now I'm going to quietly go hide under my covers.) [SciFi Thriller]
Another great show people rated bad here before they even saw it... There's some Legends of Tomorrow similarities where it's about chasing a bad guy through time.
However, I'm hooked anyway due to good cast and performances. The show is fun as well.
I can't understand why there's such a low rating from critics and stuff. What were they expecting??
The scenery, wardrobe, makeup, everything is so beautiful and colorful. I felt like I was watching a play, a musical, everything was amazing. Emma Watson was a great choice for Belle, Gaston was perfect, the Beast was lovely as expected (Dan Stevens is a great actor - I might think Gaston was a little bit better though) and you're there for Lumiére. He stole the show for me. Ewan McGregor proves again he's the best, most versatile actor ever.
It is exactly the same as the animation, just some changes. It was a great movie overall, I cried like a baby the whole time (favorite 'Disney Princess' tale right here).
I can't understand why people wouldn't like it.
This is an amazing interpretation. Where the book is vague on the horrors of Anne's life as an orphan, this version gives us glimpses into the abuse she's suffered (which can be confronting, so heads up for that) and shows the lasting effects it's left on her. Casting is perfect and the landscape is gorgeous. Can't wait to see more.
This show got me to laugh and cry over and over again and i am in love with Elena's story
Well, after watching the first episode of Riverdale, I don't quite know what to think of it all yet. Riverdale seems to be more heavily influenced by the CW's style turning this into more of a darker mystery driven show than I had been anticipating. We'll see how everything shakes out as the first episode already had its hands full just introducing the myriad of characters here. Honestly, I think that they might have overdone it trying to jam too many characters into the opening episode. I really liked what was done in the recent Archie comic reboot but perhaps this mystery-story based approach is better suited for TV vs the lighter affair of the comics.
All that I know is that we need... more Jughead!!
This show was a nice surprise, since I'm always distrustful of multi camera sitcoms.
Even though the comedy (and performances) follows the rhythm one could expect, some jokes are very funny and there are very touching moments.
Sometimes the show can get a bit too didactic with its morals, but overall it was refreshing to see an old formula bring sensitivity to discussions about sexism, immigration laws, PTSD and sexuality.
As for the actors, Justina Machado shows she can handle a show like this and the kids show some promise but the real star is Rita Moreno. She is a great performer and responsible for all my biggest laughs - and even a few tears.
Well ok! Now we're getting somewhere.
Although, one could not reasonably expect all the answers in episode two, the second episode rapidly advances the story and we finally start to get a sense of why The OA is so seemingly 'unhinged'.
At last, the 'villain' appears. I am also finding the growing byplay between the characters and their rough sketches interesting as well. We get only a little of that in this episode, but I am curious as to what their role is and why The OA needs them to be there. Brit Marling, who plays The OA, and produced, and mostly wrote, is doing an excellent job of conveying all of this character's many textures. While she appears unhinged, she also appears perfectly calm, resigned, aware and purposeful.
I am absorbed as her five listeners to her unfolding tale, and while there are no bells and whistles, this is a story being told in performance and writing, I am immensely curious as to why Hap's creepy serial killer like self is really about. As weirdness goes, this is not Twin-peakish, but it's certainly weird-as-all-out in a very human kind of way.
On to the next episode.
COURTESY REMINDER: PLEASE don't spoil the last four words for anyone, no matter if they are amazing or eh. Some people have waited almost ten years for this, so make the spoiler tag your friend on here and in real life.
The most beautiful episode of the whole show. I'm so happy everyone came back to this perfect ending.
"Hey look it's Weekend at Bernies", hilarious episode. Probably the best so far. Eleanor needs to never change. That's what makes the show funny, is how self centered she is.
Jianyu is great as well.
this won't be something that gets glowing reviews, and i won't say it deserves them. remaking something like rocky horror with a "modern twist" would be difficult to do well. however, i really thought the casting was spot-on for most of the roles!
holy fuck evan peters wearing make up and having sex with a black guy just improved my life quality from 480p to 1080p
every single "found footage" style has people saying that ; they are either tiered of it, or don´t like it / understand it.
It´s me that don´t understand why you guys bother. i mean, i don´t like musicals,so I don´t watch them ( if for some reason im forced to see one, i surely will not bash it for obvious reasons) .
Found footage is here to stay. Either you like or or not. I love them. some are bad, some are good others extraordinary. a bit like all genres and sub-genres ;)
The twist is obvious and telegraphed throughout, but this is still an effective film and something of a return to form for Shyamalan. His two likeable young leads, particularly Oxenbould, ensure the film's slow build doesn't become dull as the film hits all the usual beats of the genre. Shyamalan manages to come up with a fairly reasonable justification for the documentary style footage that the film purports to be made up of, but, as usual with films involving the characters carrying cameras around, it can't quite overcome the suspension of disbelief required to believe they wouldn't simply drop them in the final act. In any event, he doesn't let this style constrain the film and he manages to create some very effective creepy moments that remind you of how good he was in his earlier work.
After (unintentionally ) missing the last few M. Night Shymalan movies & then finding out this was going to be yet another 'found footage'/shaky camera horror, I didn't really have high hopes for this movie but I watched it anyway with an open mind.
I started this movie not expecting anything interesting but found myself really enjoying it throughout. Scarier than I thought a 'horror comedy' would be with some jump scares that rival the tenser moments in more serious movies. I thought the film managed to keep you on your toes and the story wasn't boring which most horror movies are these days. It actually went somewhere and has 'rewatch' value (much like an Shymalan movie i suppose).
The 2 main characters don't really come across as like-able, with 'T Diamond Stylus' being the definition of irritating.
None the less, the film managed to pull off everything it wanted to achieve & probably more. One of the best horror films i've seen this year, comedy or not.
The show is getting better and better! It started off slow, but I think that it has finally found its groove. Kinda reminds me of Perfect Strangers at times. I am loving the physical comedy.
Normally, I hate meeting people, but I didn't hate you.
Gods!!! I can't decide what was the most shocking thing!! If it was that Glenn is alive or the fall of the tower
Such a good episode, so much going on!
Melissa Benoist is a fantastic leading lady. Loving the tone of this show so far.
Amazing soundtrack... and the story of the patients, handling the prejudice of being gay as well as the bullying (including more background on Pierce and Karev) was heartbreaking.
OMG!!! I loved it.
Calliope Torres you are a wonderful human being!!!
Arizona and DeLuca roommate?? That's gonna be interested.
Thanks god they bring funny Arizona back, I miss her.
Good job Maggie. That was awesome.
