they really just gonna keep Michael Mando's name in the credits and give me some dumb faint hope he makes a guest appearance huh
When this show began last year they did not know how the world would change for the people involved with this situation…. Either did the world. They did a wonderful job not covering up real world events just for a laugh. I applaud everybody involved in this show.
The show always managed to draw a fine line between comedy and politics. This season opener became way more political due to recent events and I applaud the show runners for not shying away from this.
I love this show !! Great strong start of the new season
can jonas please wash his hands and face PLEASE
At this point I simply couldn't care less if it isn't exactly like the books, this show is setting a new standard for sci-fi and storytelling like The Expanse did a couple years ago or the Wachowski's did a few decades ago. Apple TV is winning the streaming war right now ( if we judge on quality )
I'm very surprised by the negative comments on this episode. Perhaps it's because I'm a casual Trek fan, but I adored this episode. So many hilarious line deliveries. So much colourful chemistry between all of the characters (Chapel in particular has perfect chemistry with everyone she talks to). So much class, charm and optimism. Very good use of the visual effects budget to punctuate moments of awe. Overall, I feel really energised by this episode.
I love Predator franchise, but this film is simply ridiculous!!
Why is everybody complaining? It’s an awesome show. If you want to see some aliens, watch the countless shows about alien invasions - there are many.
But this one…is different. And that’s good. It’s about the people, not about the aliens.
Rest in power, Lance Reddick. Hope we get to see lots more of Charon.
Episodes like this make me proud to be a Trekie again. This episode didn't take itself too seriously and was full of sci-fi optimism, just what the world needs!
i typically struggle remembering the family trees but now there's a whole ass new world with different families and damn... i'm gonna struggle big time
Way to go, Ed! :alien:
For those complaining about the ending or the show in general, (I did too initially) there is something that you should know. This show was started before COVID. Then Jeff Bridges got a bad case of COVID and was diagnosed with lymphoma and had a gigantic tumor removed from his abdomen. He was on oxygen for a long time and could barely walk. This is likely why the show was changed and slowed down. The lymphoma finally went into remission and they resumed filming. There were supposed to be more episodes than there were. This is likely why it started so strong and then got confusing and slow and not completely resolved. However, they are hoping to do a 2nd season.

After learning about all that, I have a much better feeling about it. Good luck to Jeff Bridges with his health issues. I really liked this show all in all.
An exceptional episode. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The scenes in orbit were just breathtaking and also the scene on the moon when Ed meets the Russian Cosmonaut. How intense was that. This has blockbuster quality. And finally the ending was completely unexpected for me. This surely will have dire consequences.
I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again: You’re a star, Nicky. You steal each episode, whether it be happy or sad or light or tragic. Unapologetically you, you flawed wonderful old man.
This episode just completely broke me. The performances are incredible.
I love the actress playing roscoe, plus the ending of the episode was perfect.
An amazingly well constructed episode that deals with alternate timelines but manages to be a wonderful character piece. The return of Denise Crosby as Tasha is central to this, and I wish I could experience the original shock of seeing her that must have occurred back in 1990.
The episode manages to bring meaning to her senseless season 1 death, and her scenes with both Guinan and Picard are very layered and powerful. Additionally, the episode has a vividly different look from standard TNG; dramatic lighting and longer focal depth really stand out, giving the episode its own identity. I get a small thrill with the return of the original-era movie uniforms and even set design.
It's also nice the way that the main cast change their performances in only subtle ways. Mainly we see that Picard and Riker have a harder edge, they seem more battle weary and forceful in their decisions. But the old captain is still in there as we see in his discussions with Guinan. This is yet another demonstration of what an important addition Whoopi Goldberg was to the cast.
As for minor criticism, I find the last 5 minutes of the episode a little dull. The battle with the Klingons just isn't particularly exciting. It's also convenient that the Enterprise-C crew were so willing to go back to their time without much argument.
"We could Zoom when I get there" LOL I truly laughed at that point
You’re so pink… Guess who I am… Peppa Pig (haha)
Wow, end of an era! Who’d have thought moving house could be so emotional.
A great farewell to a great 8 years of educational humour. Thank you, black-ish.
His death was weirdly predictable but I’m not sure why
DAYMAN, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, fighter of the nightman, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Loved the last scene where Scotty and Worf growled at each other :)
Angel and EZ are both currently living the opposite life that each other wanted.
This show is just the cutest. Such a heartwarming story and I already love the soundtrack for this season. So happy that the show is back.
