If you're looking for an action and "turn brain off now" film, just don't watch it and spare us the 6-7 hearts review.
I for one, am very tired from 500$m crap like Indi Day and Marvel's poop. So I was very excited to watch this one.
This one is more like Spielberg's Encounters from the Third Kind. It's more about the characters in the film and the amazing journey they go through. It's mostly about the human behavior that will make you think.
While it's not an End of the World aliens movie like Battle: Los Angeles, it still offers great amount of military presence and plenty of stuff that's going on.
So if you actually want to care about an intelligent movie and use your head - go. Otherwise, go watch an X men.
Highly recommended for some audience 10/10.
2-feb-2017 edit: Just came out on Bluray and I saw it again. Definitely keeping my rating.
Watching again at July-2023, excited towards Dune II : Excellent. Excellent film. So called plot-holes listed here are negligible when the overall product is really thoughtful and masterfully crafted.
Why do we need another suicide squad movie?
Apparently, Adam Driver has now reached the Nic Cage stage of his career.
If I ever traveled to Avatar world, I would invent arrow proof cockpit glass for the helicopters and become rich.
How this piece of silly slapstick won so many awards andfascinates so many people is totally beyond my understanding. A highly overrated movie.
This film will 100% be the type of film your friends say “no dude keep watching it gets good,” and it doesn’t but you keep smiling and nodding. By the end you say, “yeah, I get it,” (you don’t) and then go home and watch something you actually enjoy
totally overrated. if you want to watch lowlifes being miserable and entertaining choose any episode of shameless instead. i have serious doubts about the whole institution of the oscar awards
I love how this movie had rating of 60% and now when it won the Palme d'or at Cannes it turned into 87% hmm
Sisu feels like John Wick trying hard to be a Tarantino film. It ends up better than Wick but falls very short of Tarantino. If the impossible survivalism took two steps closer to realism, this movie would've landed higher for me.
My expectations were way too high after seeing all those 10's and 9's given to this movie.
It was decent... It has a lot of "what a coincidence!" moments, unrealistic events and reactions.
I did enjoy the last part of the movie! Still don't think its worth a 10 or 9 lol
I can only guess I came in with expectations too high, as I'm watching this in the period between it being nominated for Oscars, and them actually being announced.
It's an interesting enough story. It kept me following and enjoying the whole way through. But I'm struggling to see what the levels of praise it's receiving are for. And this is why I feel I'm probably watching it with too much of a hype cloud around it. In the end I was expecting more.
The trailer looked promising, but the movie was quite bland and boring, with some really annoying characters. A little bit of action here and there, some ok designs but not much else. Not sure why they hired an actress that looks like a robot to play the only human main character. The whole movie I was waiting for them to reveal that she is a robot too.
horrible. like watching a pretentious pop video in slow motion.
