joyce finally seeing hopper again and confirming that he's still alive AAAAAAAAAAH
THE ROTATING SHOT IN THAT BIKE SCENE THAT TRANSITIONS INTO THE UPSIDE DOWN WAS SOOOOOOOO SMOOTH I LOVED IT
THEN joyce and hopper finally reuniting, that scene made me tear up ngl
& i KNEW IT, i f*CKING KNEW ITTTTTTTT, the "number 001 being VECNA" reveal was such a good way to end off volume 1, literally cannot wait for volume 2 to come out
Why is the rating for this episode so low? It did quite a good job to explain the origin. What's more other storyline developed quite well.
Not cool that everyone is trying to get Nancy and Steve back together. When Jonathan isn’t around.
The story of 001 was very well told. Amazing! I can't describe how much I liked this plot. :open_mouth:
they finally showed us how to communicate through lights!!!!! and also THAT FUCKING REVELATION THO I SERIOUSLY DID NOT SEE THAT ONE COMING!!!!!!! LASTLY, WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO TEAM CALIFORNIA???????
i don't like where they going with this sci fi city of lights
Watching this episode, I couldn't help but be totally distracted by the fact that they recast Daario Naharis.
cant believe viola davis already won another emmy for that ending
I've never been so happy of someone's death.
Finally the most satisfying death so far in this series.
Deepfake Eleven doesn’t look like a Beetlejuice shrunken head at all, nope, not one bit.
absolutely ADORE the rotating shot, right before revealing Vecna on the other side, so so good
"Richard entered us without consent."
this one physically pains me
I want to see one Frank from a parallel universe go to meet Kido again like "surprise motherfucker".
Frank’s death was done very well, although I thought it was less impactful than it could have been due to his near death last season. I already thought he had died, so it wasn’t a big deal to see him die again.
Never really cared for Frank one way or another.
I'm watching all the seasons again before the seventh, and i can assure you, it's even worse to see the red wedding for a second time.
Watching this episode for the second time, I am struck by Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark)'s performance. Her portrayal of anger, sadness, and desperation all at once is just gut wrenching and remarkable.
In hindsight, the outcome of this episode was both foreshadowed and developed long ago. But that does not diminish the overall impact, if at all, enhances it.
wait, WHAT????!!?!?!?!?!!?!?!??!?!?!!!!! WHAT THE HELL!
The scene explaining the meaning of "Jeremy Bearimy" deserves 10++++ tho.
this episode has been soooo funny, but then that end struck me.
& right now im over here like: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
also, with this episode, they've truly hit this sort of mood that i can't describe, i can't bring it into words, but it's just perfect
If Vecna touches a single hair of my Max's, HE WILL HAVE TO SEE ME!! I DON'T ADMIT THIS TO HAPPEN!!!
PROTECT MAX AT AAAAAALLLLLL COSTS!!
Right from the first moment I saw Joffrey, I knew it was a little b**ch!
My biggest complaint is that it's hamfisted, but so what? An action movie embracing its best parts and just rolling with the punches instead of being needlessly long trying to explain some of these transitions and motivations? Sign me up for more of that. Black Adam embraces what it is and just dives in head first. It's heavy handed and over the top, and that's hardly a glaring flaw in a super hero movie compared to all of the other things people traditionally get wrong.
It doesn't sacrifice its strengths to satisfy critics, but I think those critics forget why we go to the movies in the first place. The fact that WW1984 is well received and this is not shows the hot mess of priorities these people place on films. This cast was great. The action was fun. The story was straight forward and not bogged down. It was fun.
Let me repeat that, it was fun. And I want more of that.
With reviews like “anti-entertaining”, I wasn’t expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised! Granted it isn’t anything new but it’s run-of-the-mill fare done well. Supremely watchable. Ties into the larger DCEU including Peacemaker in believable fashion. The only part I was sad about was the death of a very interesting character so soon after their introduction. Hope they are brought back in some form later.
Great finale, Jian-Yang is quickly becoming my favourite character.
And now the wait begins! Hands down, this show always has the best midseason finales.
