38 year old man crying cause some imaginary pink cotton candy dolphin cat elephant hybrid sacrificed himself to save someone shouting bing bong in a magic rocket cart.
This is a gorgeous movie. There is no villain or external force to fight. It is about a girl who had a very happy childhood learning to deal with loneliness and accepting other negative emotions like sadness. She is learning how to balance all the little pieces of herself (what separates children from adults). The movie shows little kids how you are dealing with stuff on the inside affects how you deal with stuff on the outside.
Total chick flick that I would want to watch again!
I can't believe Mathew did this kind of movies. It's hilarious.
Absolutely one of the best comedy specials I’ve ever watched. Bo Burnham has such a unique sense of what it means to be an entertainer and a comedian. I laugh at almost all of his jokes, but at the end of this particular special I usually find myself sobbing a good bit. Don’t even know why. Just a really powerful message if it resonates with you in that way. If not, then it’s just a really good thing.
The movie is great fun! Absolutely overhated…
Yes the plot is absurd at times and it can’t compare to the original trilogy. But I enjoy it nonetheless.
Y‘all need to stop taking everything so seriously.
My favourite character in both of the movies is that one cat who puts his hand on his mouth and says: "ooohhh". (✷‿✷)
Loved this movie. I watched it earlier with the kids and it was great. Lots of jokes and action. The story was also really good.
Harvey Guillen as Perro absolutely steals the show though. That little chihuahua had the entire theater cracking up every time it was on the screen.
The Dreamworks Renaissance is officially here. This is their best work since Kung Fu Panda 2 and the best Shrek film since Shrek 2. Can not fucking wait for what this studio has in store for the future now.
This is a pretty terrific short film about how Jon Snow took up tennis against that guy who used to drive hot rod motorcycles. I enjoy fake documentaries most of the time. It is just a great way to jump to specific jokes without needing to fill in all the details from scene to scene. I also really like how they use different film styles to make shots look old, new, handheld fan stuff, etc. The best idea they had though was probably making this just under an hour instead of feeling like they needed to stretch it longer. It ended and I was never bored or tired of the primary joke. If you have HBO access, I recommend checking this out for sure. Not with kids around though... no it is pretty R even if not truly rated.
Gotta to say that Jon Snow is so [beep] dim and adorkable. Can't literally stop laughing from the beginning til the end.
My biggest complaint is that it's hamfisted, but so what? An action movie embracing its best parts and just rolling with the punches instead of being needlessly long trying to explain some of these transitions and motivations? Sign me up for more of that. Black Adam embraces what it is and just dives in head first. It's heavy handed and over the top, and that's hardly a glaring flaw in a super hero movie compared to all of the other things people traditionally get wrong.
It doesn't sacrifice its strengths to satisfy critics, but I think those critics forget why we go to the movies in the first place. The fact that WW1984 is well received and this is not shows the hot mess of priorities these people place on films. This cast was great. The action was fun. The story was straight forward and not bogged down. It was fun.
Let me repeat that, it was fun. And I want more of that.
With reviews like “anti-entertaining”, I wasn’t expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised! Granted it isn’t anything new but it’s run-of-the-mill fare done well. Supremely watchable. Ties into the larger DCEU including Peacemaker in believable fashion. The only part I was sad about was the death of a very interesting character so soon after their introduction. Hope they are brought back in some form later.
What a great movie! It wasn't a good movie, it was a great movie.
