@sean He went to a black barbershop. They sort of talked it though in that first episode.
@sean realists lol. Definitely entertaining at times but could be much better if it didn’t break suspension of disbelief and its own in-universe rules every 5 minutes.
@nextstep not entirely sure what point you are making, unless you’re saying if they really ate us, there would be no new zombies because we’d be completely eaten... so new zombies could only occur from normal death (natural causes, viral infection, murder, etc.)

VIP5If anyone is wondering why this is a lovefest for this terrible episode, just know that trakt is actively deleting any negative comments. Even ones that aren't in anyway offense. I know because it happened to me, and has been happening more and more lately.
As my previous comment mentioned, This was a poor filler episode.

@antiwoke Anti Woke, but private profile. Tell me you're emotionally fragile without telling me you're emotionally fragile. Enjoy the show, bigot.
This felt more like More WOKE, Virtue Signalling than our Science based Star Trek we've all come to love. Nevertheless, being a Sci-Fi fan, I tried to ignore the Virtue Signalling and relaxed into the episode, which felt it was based on Emotion and trying to make the Audience feel good,.... Then, BOOM, the Woke culture slapped me around the face again when Earths president walked off the shuttle and all I saw was Freaking !!!Stacey Abrams!!! and the whole WOKE Culture was thrown to the forefront of my mind.... Thanks for Ruining what could have been an awesome Star Trek!... I hope Strange New Worlds with Captain PIKE doesn't go down this road.

@alienmoon Yeah, I'm sick of all this newfound wokeness in Star Trek. For instance, I watched this episode from the 1960s where they had a white person and a black person kiss, and another from the same time period with these half-white half-black aliens where the whole thing is a big metaphor for racism being bad, and I'm like "Geeze, why you gotta throw this in my face?" What happened to the good old fashioned politics free Star Trek?
ok, if little John is played by a black actor then Nelson Mandela could be played by a white actor, in the name of equality.

@vineri131 - yeah, the next thing you know, they'll have a Caucasian playing Jesus Christ!

@pahnev mhmhm. I don't think so. It's good that people see this, in the middle of it, especially those who won't watch (international) news or read Infos or think it's a flu  Respect of covid is a good thing, wearing masks, distancing, stay at home... All wise to follow.
panic or beeing over dramatic isn't that good though.
What's so frustrating about it? That people die? Sure.
Following the rules? Not so much, it's actually pretty easy. Idk why people freak out when they can't go out/party/travel, have to wear a mask or whatever, for a few weeks or months or even a year.

VIPOG14I can tell you that Game of Thrones is phenomenal, visual beautiful, fantastic, exhilarating and action-packed thrilling rollercoaster that in many ways has not been seen yet in a tv show. I could say that and be absolutely right about it, but unless you have been living under a rock without an internet connection for the past 2 years than no doubt you already heard, seen or read for yourself what a masterpiece the books and/or this tv series is.
Game of Thrones is exactly like the title says: A game for the throne. Played by the people who think its their right to claim, conquer or inherit it. They all have different goals and different ways of getting to that point, but their goal is in essence in one way or another the same for all of them: to be recognized and remembered for their deeds. Off course that is not so weird since everyone in real life at some level thinks like that. But the main characters in Game of Thrones are different, either through noble descent, the power and money they have, intelligence or sheer luck they have become a member of one of the noble houses that rule the countries and can decide the fate and lives of hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of people within the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos.
The story, setting and characters are all taken from a broad range of European history. Most of what we see of the continent Westeros (castles and tournaments) is taken from High Medieval Western Europe from around the 11th, 12th, and 13th centuries. But the story takes bits and pieces from other time periods as well. For example the wildfire that was used in season 2 in a brilliant strategic move of "The Imp" Tyrion Lannister during the Battle of the Blackwater is in fact Byzantine "Greek fire" which was invented and first used in the 7th century during battles between Muslims and Byzantines. This and other historical events, devices and characters based on real people out of history are all as it seems perfectly interwoven into each other into the fictional world of Game of Thrones by the author of the books George R. R. Martin.
For the actors who play the characters i have nothing but utmost respect. The performance they manage to show episode after episode is definitely what makes this tv show so popular. There is one in particular that without a doubt is one of the more popular stars of this tv show: Peter Dinklage who plays the role of "The Imp" Tyrion Lannister. In the 1st season he was portrayed as nothing more than someone who took advantage of his noble status and money to do whatever he wanted. But in season 2 (and hopefully the next seasons too) he transformed despite his disadvantage of being born as a dwarf (who during medieval times and in this fictional world are considered "lesser" humans) into a brilliant military and political strategist and someone who can very good and enjoys as he so very accurately said himself "play the game".
Game of Thrones is without a doubt the hit tv show of this decade. It started out with a story about medieval times, but slowly with every episode we see the world of the Seven Kingdoms transform into a place where mythical creatures exist, magic and dark powers are used as a weapon against enemies and where the dead are once more walking again.... Winter is coming, and i have no doubt it that it will be as spectacular and story-wise phenomenal as we have have seen in the previous seasons.

I had the same issues of getting bored early in the first season, but the show has definitely picked up since then. Killing all the boring characters helped.
Is genius the most highly treasured measure of a person's character? Is a TV series good that excels in production, acting, writing, venue, and cinematography, yet disengages the audience from it's subject? I loved the idea of this series, to take a closer look at the life and character of people of genius in their fields, and hastily gave the first episode a 10 (brilliant) out of 10, but as both seasons progressed I was disenchanted by the egotism, self-centred barbarity of the persons featured - to the point that my interest faded and I became uninterested and bored. My rating slid with each successive episode until I abandoned the series after the 5th episode of the 2nd season, when my rating became 5 (meh) out of 10. One viewer spoke of the first season as follows, "If the goal of the maker was to make us all hate Einstein, he has definitely succeeded." I found I felt the same about Picasso. I've abandoned the series and my final rating is 5 (meh) out of 10. Brilliant casting, performances, etc. but disappointing subject. [BioPic Drama]

@lexyee I agree with your very thoughtful reply. However, my issue is that if I don’t connect with the character’s struggle, motivation or journey, I become bored and lose interest. But I totally agree that the production and performance qualities were excellent.
