All those little service robots? Adorable! The Kid? In a space ship? Awesome! The kid eating? Cute! The kid using the force in battle? Great! The Mandalorian (the shiny one)? Cool! The little green alien man without a name? Intimidating! The other aliens? Astonishingly creative costumes and make up! Nice too look at!
The 80s Gothic Vespa/Cyberpunk gang? Stupid. Fennec? Boring! Boba? Couldn't care less!
How did they get that wrong? Constantly? I'm attached to every little service robot a lot more than to Boba...
Plus, it's a weak finale. All that alliance building, diplomacy, politics, befriending local townsmen, Boba in the back story shown as a man who became wiser and more experienced, all that parcours training was totally inconsequential. In the end, it was raw firepower of two guys in an armour and ä donated (!) beast. Yeah, I know it's stupid Star Wars and they love their lasers, but it feels pointless. Plus, the HAL killing robot's aim is extremely poor.
something about a controller and allot of whining in front of a green-screen
This federation has fought wars. Ruthless. Determined. Sent people into certain death when necessary. Well trained officers staying calm in crisis. On TNG there's even an episode on this where officers train to send fellow comrades into certain death for the sake of the greater good. And this crew needs a chaperon cause they are so overwhelmed by their feelings to Book and they won't stop talking about their feelings and get hysterical? You have a well devised battle plan. You had your orders. Lock your weapons and destroy them. At first chance. Problem solved. But you screwed that up. Good luck with first contact.
That ship is not a well-oiled military battle cruiser nor a vessel for bold exploration. It's like a self-therapy asylum. I could probably live with that but even the emotional stories are told extremely badly ...
Plus, that title. Rubicon. Do the authors even know what that means? Who has deliberately crossed the point of no return and started the civil war? I don't get it....
A season final by the numbers. You could see the twists coming from a mile away but I enjoyed every minute of it. Maybe we have become a little spoiled, this was a pretty decent episode but it's very hard to beat the previous two episodes. The duel between Boba and Bane felt a bit underwhelming, maybe it got hyped to much but I can't help but feel there was more in that scene. Ah well . WEEEEeeeeee to next season
Best Star Wars Content we have had easily since ROJ. what an experience. 10/10 episode, if not 1000/10
These last 2 episodes are the best Star Wars I've seen in a looooong time!!! FAAAAAAAAK!!!!
This episode of the Mandalorian is good and show a more in sync with the original Star Wars Luke Skywalker character not the travesty we saw on the sequels where the character got disfigured by the mediocre writing, this is the true essence of Luke a complete opposite of the guy that tried to kill Ben Swolo because he scares me.
And I see some people here complaining about fan service, well Star Wars is about the story of the real Skywalkers if you don't like that you are in the wrong franchise maybe go and seek your woke content someplace else like glee or something like that.
8/10
I've been thinking for 30 minutes how to review this without spoilers but I'm as giddy as a 10 year old right now. Simply shell shocked. This was pure pleasure for any Star Wars fan, just go watch it (again)
A LOTTTTTT OF THOUGHTS, many will have to be kept to spoilers. Spoiler tags aren't working for me.
As an episode of pure Star Wars, this was once again incredible. Dave Filoni knows this universe so well and he continues to impress. We got more of the Boba Fett - Pyke Syndicate storyline that feels overlooked and wasted this season, including memorable returns.
But once again, despite how entertaining and enjoyable this episode was - it was for a good portion, the 2nd episode (or episode adjacent) of The Mandalorian Season 3.
When people think of The Book of Boba Fett, they will without a doubt remember last week and ESPECIALLY, this week. And while that's not an endorsement of this show, its an endorsement for how good Star Wars CAN be in the right hands, and what they could eventually set up
I like Boba Fett but I love Mando! This was a fantastic episode. It made me smile almost every 5 minutes. Bryce Dallas Howard struck gold with this one.
Absolutely epic! The episode captures the storyline of The Mandalorian and inserts it flawlessly into that of Boba Fett. Each phase of this episode is full of depth, perfect rhythm, the co-stars manage to complete the role of Mando. And the ending creates a crazy hype about the next episode.
Man that was a good episode
this was an amazing episode and im so freaking excited for chapter 6 and it made me realize just how much we need a mandalorians series.
Curse you Favreau ! Each episode you make reminds me how Star Wars can be. This was a damn fine episode, give this guy his trilogy already. Fight it all you want, this is the way.
Some of the best star wars i have ever seen in this episode. PERIOD. Just amazing! 10/10
That was 45 minutes of pure Star Wars joy. I can't fault a single thing about it. Excellent character work, deep lore exploration and stunning visuals. Glorious.
This episode is phenomenal! We follow Din Djarin after the events of The Mandalorian season 2 finale, as he learns how to use the Dark Saber. This episode does a great job continuity-wise in referencing what happened to Mandalore in Star Wars: Rebels! The cinematography in this episode was mind-blowingly beautiful! And near the end, as he was testing his new Naboo Starfighter, I got a little Phantom-Menace-Podracing-scene vibe from it. After that, he met up with Fennec Shand, and he said he will help Boba free of charge, but he has to see a "little friend" first! GROGU REUNION! Can't wait for the next episode!
I thought for sure that the short season and short episodes would lead to an unsatisfying ending...
I could not have been more wrong. I'll miss this show, I'll miss these characters, I'll miss this ship. Till we meet again Rocinante.
There better be a 2 hour series finale!
A really great episode full of lore and excitement. There's something great about Train Heists that always make them enjoyable. And this is no different.
Just when you think this show can’t get any worst, we are proven wrong with this episode. Wow that was terrible. Hoping the show gets better.
they've lost their minds, a computer with emotions, with a voice that sounds like telephone porn and a new super sensitive trill :joy::laughing:
I didn't think this could get any worse-wrong! Total waste of time, removed from Trakt watching etc. Tilly is the most annoying character ever, (surpassing even Jar Jar Binks) closely followed by the rest of this touchy-feely, woke bunch of a crew. Bad,bad, baaad!
I know generation X has a sensitivity of about 3 after growing up in the 80's and we really needed to fix that, but this episode had it turned up to 11. This is NOT how a vessel operates, civilian or not, and I sincerely doubt it'll change that much by then. Now the on board computer needs counseling, people can leave their post during a crisis and have a little debate about orders.
Sweet Roddenberry make it stop ! Somewhere in that room are people capable of writing good sci-fi, each week they get so freaking close and then the dialogue passes through the Dense Monologue Aggregator . At a certain point I was convinced the writers were trolling us by paying tribute to that episode of Southpark. Sensors are sensors no matter how much the computer "meditates" they can't go full Jedi after playing a simple game and get past the technical limits.
If I showed this episode to my kid's school PTA supermom ( you know the one ) she'd say they are overcompensating.
This was verging on too much soapy drama for me but I'm still enjoying and intrigued by the main sci-fi narrative. Also, after multiple iterations of the show, I wish they had realised that we don't need kid / young adult characters - they're consistently annoying, just to varying degrees - I felt the same about Wesley, Jake, etc when I was basically their age while watching as I do about Adira and Gray in Discovery now.
They're keeping the "Let's fly??!"
Still Korny with a capital "K."
Holden's face when he saw Clarissa was absolutely priceless.
For me this season was much better than the previous one, and it seems S6 is going to be one the best seasons of television.
