Worst episode of the whole series. Doesn't have anything in common with BM
Werewolves? In BLACK MIRROR?!?! Are you f*cking kidding me?!
Again, didn't feel like a Black Mirror episode at all. Could be "American Horror Stories" but not BM. What a letdown
Why didn't they send the replicas to space? They can't make another of the same replica, but somehow you can use someone elses if you use their tag? Conceptually flawed and predictable.
I don't buy the inciting incident on a plot level (high-stake project such as this has no protection or no back-up? And conveniently no regular check-in for Cliff's also conveniently semi-closed-off family even after all that happened? I could go on), and really don't buy the final one on a character level (either the writing or performance needs to establish David's psychological nuances more than just "mentally pushed after tragedy" so this big action feels more character-based rather than symmetrically plot-mandated). So even if there are a few intriguing dramatic dilemmas in between, that ending doesn't feel justified or developed naturally from the episode's length at all, and has me feel like it's just Brooker indulging in Black Mirror's worst tendency of empty shocking nihilism.
I'm into episode 3 right now and doesn't seem to get better at all. Season 6 so far is disappointing. BM was so much better before Netflix.
I need a few days to recoup as this episode is pretty disturbing. Its the same feeling I felt after watching White Bear. And i've seen a lot of true crime shows
Wth was that dren? Ugh. So predictable. The ending was written all over the guy's face from the beginning. The scene where the gf dies?? Seriously? That was it?. Sigh...really didn't like this one. Felt like a student film final project. The story and characters needed something more.
The best episode out of the 5 this season. Funny and relatable social commentary. I enjoyed how the writers chose to explain it all in the "quam-puta" room . Really enjoyed this episode. The rest were barely even worth sitting through.
Cheers!
"I would like the ship to go"
Glad to see one of my favourite series of last few years return with a season promising to be as good as the previous one.
I was on the edge of my seat for the whole episde :O
Yeah, this one was hitting the brakes a little bit. Still a good episode and for sure no reason throwing the towel on this show.
We see a lot of Marnes pain about the loss of Major Jahns. Which was good for the character but I don't think it needed multiple scenes for that. We also delve into Juliette's past and learn how she got to Below. Which was again good context for the character.
I don't know where I stand with Marnes. He seems to be riding two horses and the final scene kinda confirms it might have been him who was the target for the murder. Or whoever ordered the hits wanted both dead ?
I do hope so he doesn't get killed, too, because I like Will Patton a lot.
When someone who is trigger happy points a gun at you, you don't start opening boxes, you stay put and point at the box. Apparently Russia sent 2 of its dumbest astronauts to the moon. Plus, the Karen plot is just cringe, I pray they don't turn this show into a full blown soap opera.
This show is getting more and more dense. Can’t wait for next episode. Initially I felt like between THX 1138 and Equilibrium now I don’t know maybe like “Vaterland” with “Game of Thrones”.
And I think we are still curious what lies outside?
And anyone beside me thinks of Barnard like of Architect in Matrix?
The action sequence was running a bit long but otherwise another solid episode.
I'm surprised there wasn't another way to relieve the steam pressure. Was that just a story tool to generate tension? You would think the builders would incorporate a way to make repairs in case they are needed. Otherwise they were either pretty sure the generator would run forever or they never anticipated it runs so long. Weird.
Did you notice the moment they switched to the back-up the screen showed a healthy, green environment outside ? No coincidence I say.
Bernard is hiding something, he is a much more important player in the tale. Unfortunately I was sure the moment the major opened up to the deputy her clock was running out.
The plot was resolved well enough, and we got a very relaxing and satisfying epilogue. What else could you want?
We got old star trek back this season. Some of it's spirit, anyway. We got a good plot. We got legacy characters back and they actually feel true to themselves and are respected. We got new likeable characters, and they made previous Picard season characters more likeable. What else could you want?
I'm not completely satisfied overall in regards to what's happened this season, and i've aired some of my issues in previous comments. But god damn am i completely satisfied right now, because we finally got some of old star trek back. We finally got respect and likeable characters and a good story, with an amazing send off for the old crew, and a good setup for the new crew.
I am so completely relaxed and satisfied. We finally got good and true star trek. I'm satisfied for years now.
hopefully not as long a wait for next season
Great and clean ending. Was expecting some loose ends or a cliffhanger but I prefer it this way.
Aww, this must have been a gift to the actors as well, a true nostalgia ride and testimonial. Their reactions might have even been sincere in a way - oh to be back "home", these grey-haired oldies (too old for assimilation!), after so many years!
I enjoyed the sets on the planet, the droidbar was beautiful made.
This episode felt like a filler. The Mandalorian fight scene was piss poor, looked like it was choreographed in a primary school playground
Well then, that was a waste of time. Felt more like an episode for toddlers.
Not my type of episode, I was hoping for more lore and it continuing... but it was a fun episode for kids and light-hearted. Some nice cameos from Clone Wars which I enjoyed.
I understand that it's not for the majority of us older nerds, but it is definitely for the younger ones who also watch this show. I'm excited for the rest of the season.
eummm.. who wrote/directed this? Certainly not the same people who done S01. I've got a strange feeling about this
This episode literally felt like a PARODY.... That is not a good thing
Watching Tim Meadows have an argument with an astromech droid put a big smile on my face.
During the recap I thought: please, no. Not pirates again. But this episode really caught fire, literally as well as figuratively. It's beginning to go into the direction I'd hoped for with the Mandalorians.
Now, I wonder since Din still posesses the Darksaber could that become an issue again ? Or can Bo lead them without it now that the Armorer has spoken on her behalf ? And I'm certain it wasn't Mandalorians who freed Gideon. That's a ruse to blame them. Even with him escaping I'm still convinced there is a bigger fish in the water.
We can now safely assume that the ex-imperial is an operative for the empire remnant. I really like that Capt Carson gets a bigger role. He's a really honest guy.
And what do you know - Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios. Another Rebels connection. Uhh, I like where this is going.
Okay, episodes were better than the others but Omega is still too cringe. The thing I most dreaded happened too, a set-up for S3. Only way to salvage this show is to do it Max 8 episodes, fuck off with the fillers. Kill Cid, rescue Omega and Crosshair and live happily ever after on Pabu. Ofcourse with Tech because it is Disney and they will never actually kill him off
