VIP7Started off as a half decent action movie till the truly horrible third act.
Why would the government not help kill them under the ice, they were quick enough to believe 'the future people'? Just so you can have your small group of outcasts save the world? Why go through more than half of the movie to help 'the future people' and then barely use what you fought for, the toxin? Terrible writing.

@paladin5150 Thanks for taking your time to write a synopsis of the stupid third act so people know what I'm talking about.
Terribly boring. Doubt I’ll continue past episode 2. Just uninteresting and not funny.
update: watched the entire series.
still uninteresting, still not funny, the only thing worse than this in the MCU is Captain Marvelloading replies
@solence I dont get how people assume people dont perceive that. maybe it's "supposed" to be a comedy, but its not. like my review/comment says, boring and not funny. maybe I'm over its head.
Trash movie about trash people with a trash ending.

@adansantos Many great movies are about trashy people.
Let's see... town in the middle of nowhere, once you're in you can't get out, trying to live a normal life inside, dangerous creatures wanting to kill you. I liked this better when it was called Wayward Pines.

@ewingdav too bad Wayward Pines collapsed after season 1

Simply unbearable. A bad combo of concepts from previous works of fiction. Decades into the future, fighting swats of primal creatures/aliens (go figure that contradiction), using foot soldiers and rudimentary weapons, really? "It's not a souvenir, it's a reminder" - who writes this bull?
Also, the part where Dan Forester meets the female colonel played by Yvonne, that was a cliché of epic proportions.
Main flaw though: too long for a mediocre film.

@ant9090 I suppose you haven't read my reply to the previous comment. As for my original "review", I don't see how the "copy-pasted-Prometheus-plot-fattening" is of any consequence. The movie is still bad, no amount of lipstick can make up for that, pun unintended.

Just got done with the pilot episode (The Comedian) of the new Twilight Zone and .... wow .... all I can say is that it'd better step up it's game . The first episode was was not lacking in acting talent , the story on the other hand was absolutely boring and unoriginal . It was a rip-off of several well known ideas . The first thing that came to my mind was "Death Note" mixed with a backwards "It's A Wonderful Life". The story was predictable and had zero surprises . Strangely enough , in 1957 , a pre-Twilight Zone Rod Serling adapted a novel for an episode of a TV show called Playhouse 90 . That episode was also called "The Comedian" , it shared NOTHING other than name in common with the new Twilight Zone episode . It's a crime to attach Serling's name to this episode , it was very difficult to sit through the whole thing .

@hobo89 Rod Serling no doubt is rolling over in his grave. A big disappointment. I'll give this poorly crafted series one season at best.
I wish I could give it a 10 (which I very very rarely do) -Season one is excellent in every aspect but one:
The timeline is blurry and confusing as f***.Events taking place decades apart are only put into their place by a character dropping that something happened three decades ago in passing.
Normally that wouldn't be an issue, but most characters don't age!
I am still a bit confused as to why the bard doesn't age, since he seems to be human (I'm at Episode 6, so I hope they do explain it in one of the last episodes, but I doubt it)
That combinations makes it really hard to keep track of what happened before, what happened after and what happens at the same time.P.S.: I don't know the books, so I have no idea if they had the same problems.
I took a look at the descriptions for the books though and some elements seem to coincide with the first prequel book. So I assume they are meshing prequel and original books together somehow.loading replies
Timeline is what makes this show good, it's really clever storytelling.
Never played the game, never read the books, had no major problems undestanding what is going on.
People just need to undestand that you are supposed to pay attention when watching TV shows, if there is a part that does not require your attention, it is some filler that should be cut out.
