I was excited when I first heard there was a show about a female soccer team lost in the woods eating each other, then disappointed when I found out it was about cannibalism.
People downvoting this like we know anything at all about the show.
Dont understand why rating shows/episodes before the release date is still a thing.
Started off as a half decent action movie till the truly horrible third act.
Why would the government not help kill them under the ice, they were quick enough to believe 'the future people'? Just so you can have your small group of outcasts save the world? Why go through more than half of the movie to help 'the future people' and then barely use what you fought for, the toxin? Terrible writing.
What's with the bad votes it didn't even come out yet-
Edit: Fair enough.
3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Nope’:
I kept waiting, and waiting, for this film to get good. For the moment when things kick into high gear and it earns that price of admission. For me, it never got there. It always teetered on the edge of something fun and edge-of-your-seat… but it remained uneventful despite its seemingly-momentous scenes.
The pacing was all sorts of wonky. It felt like there were a lot of disconnects here, a lot of questions. Scenes that went on too long. Unrealistic character reactions and decisions. My scalp is sore from all the head scratching. I just wish this were a more structured story with all the ideas it contained.
Great cast, but the character of OJ was incredibly bland and emotionally flat. A more compelling lead character may have risen this film above all its flaws.
Bonus Thought: What was the significance of the mysterious balancing shoe?
In my opinion, this is definitely in the top 10 best Fast movies.
sigh i miss forever :(
The story and art style definitely seem cool and interesting, but the long, dull, uninspired battle scenes drag on too much, and the sound effects just don’t make sense. Swords whooshing sound like transformers, and it’s all so exagerated, it’s off-putting. Don’t waste your time, this show isn’t worth it.
Terribly boring. Doubt I’ll continue past episode 2. Just uninteresting and not funny.
update: watched the entire series.
still uninteresting, still not funny, the only thing worse than this in the MCU is Captain Marvel
Two :v: hour waste of time from my perspective.
Simply unbearable. A bad combo of concepts from previous works of fiction. Decades into the future, fighting swats of primal creatures/aliens (go figure that contradiction), using foot soldiers and rudimentary weapons, really? "It's not a souvenir, it's a reminder" - who writes this bull?
Also, the part where Dan Forester meets the female colonel played by Yvonne, that was a cliché of epic proportions.
Main flaw though: too long for a mediocre film.
Let's see... town in the middle of nowhere, once you're in you can't get out, trying to live a normal life inside, dangerous creatures wanting to kill you. I liked this better when it was called Wayward Pines.
I don't undestand the 9/10 and 10/10 reviews, in my opinion this movie is way overhyped.
I will give, that the actors performance is amazing, but then it's only famous people.
My main problem with the movie is, that nothing interesting happens, its basically like every other tragedy released over the last decade - just with DC's IP behind it.
There are entire segments in which literally nothing happens in the first 60m minutes which were a snoozefest, the character is walking somewhere and its followed by another scene in which, you guessed it: also nothing happens.
I only enjoyed the last 20 minutes, although they didn't hold a single unforseen twist either...
I honestly think they could have done a better job with this movie. Not sure why it is nominated for best picture, but it's not my cup of tea. The plot is weak and some acting is even weaker, which makes it funny because it's about a play. The dialog is long and sometimes lots of words have been used but nothing is said.
Just an ordinary space-ship-crew-alien sci-fi thriller. Nothing special here and no reason you'd ever wanted to watch it again. It's still the same. They find Alien, they feed him, observe him, it escapes, it kills them. That's the plot. There are too many stupidities I'm tired of :( It's still the same in every movie of that kind. Why the hell anybody would want to use some plastic gloves to touch something totally strange and unknown? Isn't it safer to use robotic hands? If you are going to study something you know nothing about wouldn't you do it in some secure lab? And why the hell is it needed to close ventilation shaft one by one instead of pressing one button? I know, because alien has to escape somehow. As I said, many stupidities, many bad things in this one and to be honest It was a waste of time.
I wish I could give it a 10 (which I very very rarely do) -Season one is excellent in every aspect but one:
The timeline is blurry and confusing as f***.
Events taking place decades apart are only put into their place by a character dropping that something happened three decades ago in passing.
Normally that wouldn't be an issue, but most characters don't age!
I am still a bit confused as to why the bard doesn't age, since he seems to be human (I'm at Episode 6, so I hope they do explain it in one of the last episodes, but I doubt it)
That combinations makes it really hard to keep track of what happened before, what happened after and what happens at the same time.
P.S.: I don't know the books, so I have no idea if they had the same problems.
I took a look at the descriptions for the books though and some elements seem to coincide with the first prequel book. So I assume they are meshing prequel and original books together somehow.
Blackberry is interesting enough and the performances are great. However, the narrative felt rushed and I wanted to explore more of the gaps and characters. I hate to say this, but this film might have been better as a miniseries.
This movie is dumb.
Something else needs to be pointed out as well. They never show her getting off the dam tower. Lame ending.
Why didn't she just stuff the phone in the bird
I don’t get the appeal of these.
Yeah, the stuntwork’s great, but I see no redeeming qualities besides that. The acting sucks, the dialogue’s corny, the story is schlock that’s presented way too seriously, the characters are uninteresting, there’s little to no tension because the main character is an invincible cartoon, the music’s unmemorable and generic, and most of the film is just plain damn boring.
All the good stuff that this has to offer is also offered by franchises like Mission Impossible and Fast and Furious, and more on top of that.
You’re not getting the clever intrigue or fun gimmicks of the MI franchise here, nor the tongue in cheek comedy or creative, over the top insanity of the F&F franchise.
This is so boring by comparison to me.

It is agood movie, but MAN! I hated Richard Williams, he is so maddening that I just wanted him to shut up. I kind of understand why he was like that, after all he suffered a lot. The most comic part was when he told his daughters that one day they'd buy a lot of beds and wouldn't have to share beds with their sisters (and I thought, well if you hadn't had FIVE daughters living with not enough money they wouldn't have had to share beds).
I do hope it will get better than this... and 22 minutes for one episode?? 7 minutes for credits? Boring !!
For the life of me I don't understand why this movie gets so many positive reviews. It made many critics' top ten lists for the year. And it is terrible. Just awful.
Yes, it is very different, weird, and creative... but that doesn't mean it's good or entertaining. Its a dystopian future that has absolutely no basis in any logic or coherence, the characters are totally unlikeable, and it's unnecessarily cruel.
Sometime I think people say they like weird, artsy movies just so they look like they get and appreciate artsy things, not because they actually enjoyed the movie.
Don't waste your time. One of the worst movies I have ever watched.
Take out Jennifer Lopez and place in Liam Neeson for Taken 4... Or Tom Cruise for Jack Reacher 3. The negativity stops immediately.
This was enjoyable throughout. A spiritual successor to Haywire, in my eyes. U flustered, a strong female protagonist with an emotional depth that is belittled by a perfunctory script.
Concentrate on whether you want to turn it off and you'll discard all the negativity. It runs strong and has plenty of plot to keep it ticking along. The action reminded me of the last Craig Bond.
Dont underestimate this. It's a solid watch.
7.5/10
Looking forward to this one! As always, shame on the people who already rated the movie before coming out.
(ok i know this movie is heavily discussed or whateva but....it was boring as hell. anyways...)
The trailer looks good, the story looks good but i'm so afraid that this is on Netflix.
This is bad, jokes are not funny, hardly any action scenes which was bad also. I gave up after 2 episodes.
Incredibly overrated. I don't mind dark movies that deal with depressing subject matter. But this is not intriguing. The character doesn't have enough depth. Not an engrossing movie.
why are there 3 votes with one star, when the first episode hasn't even been aired yet?
