Star Trek: Discovery: 2x13 Such Sweet Sorrow (1)

Well, @balazs955 inspired me to leave a comment that this episode is just another disappointment. >70% of this episode was full of pathos and preceding weeping, terribly written and acted as (almost) always when STD gets emotional. What makes this even more absurd is that half of the weeping was pointless, as most of the crew decides to join the mission at the end.

Star Trek: Discovery: 2x12 Through the Valley of Shadows

I never would have considered this possible but I actually wouldn't mind if a Star Trek series gets canceled.
There is barely any logic in STD season 2, either in minor or huge events.

Doctor Who: 3x10 Blink

Doctor Who doesn't get any better than this episode. Forget the Daleks and anything else that you might consider 'scary', this is the real stuff. And such a clever writing. Incredible. Episodes as this, are what defines Doctor Who's cult status.

His Dark Materials: 3x07 The Clouded Mountain

Once more Marisa carried the show, every other character is just a tragically lacklustre experience. And by every other I do mean every other.

Spoiler alert:
How they didn't explain at all that the dying character in the cube was "the Authority" is just another typical failure by the showrunners.

Peaky Blinders: 2x01 Episode 1

I still can't tell what's supposed to be so great about this series. Or why Tommy is supposed to be oh so smart.
He's just taking more risks and not too rarely he miscalculated and could have lost it all. Gets quite boring actually.

Slow Horses: 2x04 Cicada

I was so close to rate this episode 9/10 ...till that very last scene with River. Geez, that dude really is a slow horse sometimes.

So she learned from the letters that Melmont lied and tried to steal the money from her. That he was a mass murderer.

Yet she decided that it would be wise to meet that man again, all by herself. Seriously, how stupid is that plot?

Succession: 1x09 Pre-Nuptial

I still haven't figured out what excites people about this show. There is nothing clever about the plot, just an endless series of weakness and its results.

I'm glad that Marin Hinkle got this opportunity to rock. This show really taught me how talented she is.

Star Trek: Picard: 2x02 Penance

I really don't care anymore which new and yet somehow old and familiar mega crisis Star Trek is throwing at us in their next season. It's just one big bland mess.

And there always is a lack of growth and development in the story. 2x01 was in a pretty much new setting. This episode was in complete new setting and we can already tell that the next also will take place in a new setting, after the time travel.

Same for the characters, they contribute in their limited scope and that's it. No progress, no depth. No reason why you'd like or even just respect any of them.

Star Trek: Discovery: 3x13 That Hope Is You (2)

Many story elements were predictable, others make little to no sense. And yet this was way better than most we were offered in this season. A decent final, to a devastating experience.

Okay, this was a bridge episode. But had it to be so very boring? Did any previous Star Trek series ever have boring Mirror Universe episodes?

The only mildly interesting elements were the exchange between Mirror-Saru and Mirror-Georgiou and the other was about this unknown being and its portal. And the latter could have been so much more than just a decent time filler.

That probably wasn't their intention, but despite considering the Mirror Universe crew very unpleasant dull beings, I'd actually have to consider if I'd rather want to see a series about them. After they killed their Michael Burnham ofc.

Planet has an existential problem for one hundred years

Michael Burnham:
Can't you two just fix it?
No? What if we make you stronger?
Nice, problem solved in 15 seconds!

I could critizice a lot more. The usual disappointing script, badly developed characters, pacing that would ruin even a good story, bad acting ... but who actually cares anymore?
This series is trash, and we are only still here to see how much it will ruin the lore for future series.

Star Trek: Picard: 1x06 The Impossible Box

After #Picard 1x06 I finally understand that Deanna Troi was really essential in TNG.

Jean-Luc seems to struggle to register any emotional distress, even among his familiar entourage and therefore frequently behaves like an insensitive moron.
God bless counselor Troi for informing him all these years!

My feelings about this show in general are still very mixed. But the start was certainly more promising than the recent episodes.
Maybe Jean-Luc can't do space anymore?

The Mandalorian: 1x04 Chapter 4: Sanctuary

It's a bland Star Wars version of The Magnificent Seven with few characters and no character or story development.
So far the most convincing part of this series are Baby Yoda, "This is the way" and 50% of the combat scenes. The remaining combats are pretty dull though, as in this episode.

Joel's sadness - 10/10
Declan & Midge & the painting - 10/10
The dinner - 10/10

I'm almost feeling bad for giving the complete episode only a 9/10. This was glorious!

Some monologues and dialogues are so frustrating in this show. I often wish that I could strangle the character (or the writer) and make them shut up. Example in this episode: The "motivational" speech Eren receives at the end.

Alchemy of Souls

Season 1 is a wonderful mixture of drama, comedy, action and romance.

I really respect the writers, who managed to deliver a reasonable explanation for whatever turn of events they make us experience.

I enjoyed most of it but the idea about the general events leading to this scenario don't make any sense.

Example: If some people knew in advance what was to come, they could have used the precious time to share relevant information. And that would have upended most of the effects George described in his ear scenario.

Much action, rarely making sense. But we get to see many more scenes with Golshifteh Farahani so that's something.

Surprisingly dull experience, considering how much I enjoy history and archaeology. And the actors.

The only moment of greatness was that small dialogue between Robert and Basil about failing.

Just before Zenitsu's scene I pondered if I should quit this series. It's just a bit bland, with always the same patterns. Especially during combat, with sniffing the solution.

But Zenitsu finally gave this series a second emotional milestone.

The Fall of the House of Usher

I managed to watch four episodes and was just bored. The only interesting part is the "Why?" and I frankly can't bother to waste even more time for the answer.
I'll admit that most actors performed well above average though. They aren't to blame that I didn't feel entertained or any sort of suspense.

Alchemy of Souls: 1x14 Episode 14

After the last episode I really wondered how they'd explain the messed up development.
They did a fantastic job, spent 13 minutes showing previously unknown events that lead to the given scenario.

Generic build up in the first half, lacklustre escalation afterwards.

And the villains are just clowns, you couldn't possibly take them serious. Resulting in a movie that you can't take serious.
