While I fault many Black Mirror episodes for not properly looking at the implications of the technology presented this one probably takes the cake... Transferring the consciousness AND reading brainwaves just used in the entertainment field as mere plot-device for a Disney-story. Expectations subverted I guess?
This was really out there...
The insta gimmick didn't really work for me; it was neither funny nor did I feel like Abbi would behave like that. The message at the end was also far from nuanced...
SOA back in top-form... Part A was a showcase for a boring MMO concept where people supposedly have fun hacking away on the same tree all day and little kids just happen to be able to reach the cave which is told of in legends within a minuscule amount of time (to be fair that could just be part of a quest/setup of the game but considering this is SAO I doubt that). Part B is lame GGO action without impact followed up by an exposition dump deluxe. TFW when you get "stabbed" in the leg by an umbrella and apparently get knocked out by that...
How does one manage to make "action" scenes boring? Adapt a light-novel about a FPS apparently. And as it should be for SAO the seemingly incompetent girl is famous and a Mary Sue.
And more feels bait that gets rushed over like nothing... I really feel like KyoAni at this point is just full of themselves.
I have trouble believing that this wasn't mostly staged...
I never got around to start the manga but damn, the OPM hype is certainly to thank for what looks to be a promising adaptation by BONES. With Death Parade's director this time adapating a work and Yoshimichi Kameda bringing the artstyle to live I would enjoy this for the visuals soley. Bring it on!

Emmy for best script & acting right there.
So, this episode showcased the worst aspects of the show. I'm out ;).
After almost getting traumatized for life by killing a goblin in last weeks episode they proceed to slaughter a camp of goblins just minding their business and sleeping... set to a fucking happy insert song! Not only that, they do two of them back to back with the second one (including a totally unfitting saxophone) overlaying the shopping-in-town montage just like last week. So, what happens in the rest of the time?
That uplifting ED after the cliffhanger is almost mean ;). Some solid payoff this episode!
If only Castle was always this entertaining...
This is like the gayest "bedtime with my husbando" simulator ever.
I know the fight isn't done yet but this was really anticlimatic.
"It must be because of this rare skill, which I've never heard of before!"
Fucking dropped.
I don't think I needed this season. A lot weaker than the first one.
The way this ended with nothing left to adapt currently it's also not the ending I was looking forward to...
That break-up scene wasn't even remotely funny... just plain stupid.
Looks like this is postponed until further notice ☹ https://myanimelist.net/news/68442225
Ugh, if the battles are already this unanimated I don't even dare to phantom what's in store.
Jamie Lee Curtis is really reaching with her analogies...

Looks like they didn't commit and will just drag things out with Jake. Having the end play out during another house party is just plain lazy writing, especially with the headphones and everyone having their eyes closed the entire time. What even was the point? It's not like Lexy's little sister wasn't awake the last time they threw one and she apparently is carefree enough to even smoke weed inside the house - like her parents wouldn't notice...
I'm also constantly weirded out by Devon. Just doesn't feel like a real kid and he somehow always ends up at the cool kids table despite not showing any aspirations of that.
Anyways, not interested in spending another 7 hours with these kids.
The whiplash is u n r e a l. After cranking the drama and politics up to 9000% for the premiere this just plain ignores all of it and plays le separation funneh (and conveniently puts Diaz on drugs for the whole affair). Not at all interested in finishing the show anymore.
The "Shitty Circumstances" bit was actually funny - I'm shocked?!
Kinda weird and meh arc with a WTF ending... Hoping they did not forget about the answer arcs...
Wasn't eager to start this after having seen all the fake shilling on it's IMDb page (most of which - including the negative ones - has now been removed ???) and am actually still unsure about this 70 minutes later. I can't say that I'm not intrigued but found the change of pace towards the end rather unexpected for something branding itself with Lovecraft (I mean it's at least there in the creature design).
I don't feel like I'm necessarily in competent hands because this had very little substance so far. I'm going to be very cynical about what I've seen: Yes, racism bad (queue examples), black culture so rich (queue overlong concert scene AND play modern day trap music), car chases are exciting (let's do two of them with the first one resulting in a quite illogical conclusion which everyone ignores) and let's not forget we are here for some monsters (which came with the usual horror logic trappings)... Having now looked at the trailer I know even less of it's intended direction - just that this is certainly not the 10:star: material some have people claimed this as :person_bowing:.
I know it's supposed to be funny but it correlates so much with reality that it becomes bleak :astonished:.
Never really cared about the show much (far from a masterpiece) but with the current snail pacing and little new going on it doesn't really hold my interest anymore. I think I'm done with this.
That backstory skipped a part I think... quite a tedious setup imho.
I have a hard time believing that in 1938 people identified as a top or bottom... not really much history on those terms though.
