If you're looking for an action and "turn brain off now" film, just don't watch it and spare us the 6-7 hearts review.
I for one, am very tired from 500$m crap like Indi Day and Marvel's poop. So I was very excited to watch this one.
This one is more like Spielberg's Encounters from the Third Kind. It's more about the characters in the film and the amazing journey they go through. It's mostly about the human behavior that will make you think.
While it's not an End of the World aliens movie like Battle: Los Angeles, it still offers great amount of military presence and plenty of stuff that's going on.
So if you actually want to care about an intelligent movie and use your head - go. Otherwise, go watch an X men.
Highly recommended for some audience 10/10.

Watching again at July-2023, excited towards Dune II : Excellent. Excellent film. So called plot-holes listed here are negligible when the overall product is really thoughtful and masterfully crafted.
Thankfully we have Mads Mikkelsen who aces every project he's in, and non-hollywood studios to save us from endless American sh*t spewing films.
I walked into this just based on the actors, didn't know anything before, and found a Beautifully done film with a rich story about a long struggle with lots of hardships, high stakes and emotions.
Bravo.
Highly recommended.
Great acting work from everyone, doesn't fall into cliches, story is thrilling and gripping. Shows true brotherhood connection between warriors who went through hell together.
And OMG the score!! So good! really emphasizes and enlarge all the special moments in the film! Beautiful cinematography.

As a movie of course it's not the best. But it's a must for any Seth mcfarland fan. There were some internal jokes and references that really warmed up up seeing!
Of course NPH is great, Charlize Theron is charming and so many guest cameos that make it such a fun watch!
I am one to dislike action movies. Too much unrealistic fighting, invincible hero, and flying cars for me.
But this is different.
It's raw, brutal, angry. Beautifuly coreographed. Fights are as real as they can get in a movie, and feel like Liam Neeson in our beloved Taken (1 of course). Hemsworth is excellent.
I didn't like 6 Underground BS movie, I don't watch Jason Statham, and can't stand Michael Bay (accept Bengahzi actually) and any DC/Marvel crap. But I loved this.

Its the best thriller you've seen in the last few years. It accomplishes so much with so little words. We (and the rest of the theater) were on the edge of our seats from the 3rd minute until the very last second.
You'll connect to the characters emotionally and identify with almost every move they make. Everything is believable and makes sense, which is very satisfying to have.
Extremely recommended/Must-see to anyone who's willing to accept a little sci-fi, and enjoys thrillers.
I bet that after seeing this, M. Night Shyamalan said "this is what I was supposed to do instead of the crappy corn-field movie.."
I'm eagrly waiting for a great, thoughful sci-fi movie. Please tell me this one isn't just a dumb sci-fi action film, not to say pure dogsh*t like Indep day... anyone?!?
How relevant has this movie has become now eh?? After watching it again now (first time on release date), man this is almost exactly what's going on out there!
I loved this movie.
It has just the enough amount of action for - not the have the whole movie revolve around it, and still enjoy great guns, gunning, and sniper rifles.
The movie had no "comic" (AKA Idiotic) character, for which i'm thankful. The characters were believable enough and convinced me they acted in a senseable and logical way. Our lead character is the unlike superhero which we're used to see, and has his personal problems, which really made me like him.
The story was nice enough and i really looked forward to see what happens!
I liked Ben here, him being serious and kind'a down spirited. I think the since Good Will Hunting, when his buddy Matt won the raffle of playing the suffering genius, he (Ben) wanted to act this part. So they gave it to him + many guns !
Overall - Not the banal action movie but a good and classy one. I recommend.
P.S Good for Jonny B, who else but TWD's Shane, for acting yet another douchey bad guy.
Spoiler edit: is it just me or that the J K Simmons storyline had hardly anything to do with the main plot?!? OK They had their thing in the 10 years ago past, but since then - only that lame phone call! what gives??

Great war movie if you're into the genre. Thrilling, exciting, and relatively not a cliche.
If you like Sole Survivor, Black Hawk Down, American Sniper and so - This one's defiantly for you.

Simply a must for everyone who loves Ricky, Louis CK and that bunch. Not much of a laughing out loud comedy but great ideas here. Great pic.
This is the first and only Marvel I loved in 10 years (and didn't hate).
It's mature, believable with actual characters and development. It actually spoke to my age and not to 13 year olds, with the father-son-kid relationship of Logan and Charles.
It had its real life humor and not Chuck Lorre sitcom lame jokes.
The action scenes were nice and didn't take all the focus, even with the usual "villain-boss" here.
Great performances by Jackman and Stewart, and the girl. Even dramatic I would say.
I highly recommend if you like the universe but especially if you're fed up with the usual predicable pattern, like me.
Kajaki is unique in a way that it takes place in a very short timeframe- only a few hours in one day. There are no bad guys, just guys.
It's gripping and emotional, and at a point very depressing.
If you like war movies, watch this. But note that's It's not an action film, but a drama.
It's up to you to decide if it's anti-war or not . But a good story it is.
I recommend.
Just be prepared for some heavy British and Scottish accent.
I didn't hear anything about this movie prior to watching, didn't knew it even existed, so I got it with no expectations.
It's a sweet sci fi romance movies that reminded me of Gataca and Equilibrium in some aspects (Equals isn't an action movie).
I really related to the characters and actually cared for them and wanted them to succeed. Hoult is one of my favorites and both he and Stewart did a great job creating a calm but intense and very intimate and discreet atmosphere.
I recommend for both sci fi lovers and romantics, men or women.

its a very light movie with some chuckles. dont expect anything special but if you like Gervais, you'll probable nod positively to this one. goes down the throat smoothly.
I'm 34 and extremely hard to satisfy with comedies and non-drama movies. If something doesn't make sense it ruins the movies for me and I'll give bad review.
In this one, not at all! I was entertained the entire movie! I doesn't take itself seriously and there are great self-awareness moments. Everybody did a good job, and my wife and I had lots of fun.
Easy 8/10.

I've given up on American comedies a long time ago because of those sheer stupidity. But this one I did watch and I'm very glad I did! I actually enjoyed it and had a good time! Great actors both, did a nice job and made the flick nice and fun.

Nocturnal is a beautifully horrible movie. It gives you the story that you want but not the finish that you need.
I read online afterwards that it contains many clues. I didn't notice them and still enjoyed it greatly.
Many hate it and many adore it. A sign for a good movie to me. I had both feelings.
If you like Gyllenhaal and his choice of movies u should watch this one.
Michael Shannon - amazing character here.
If you like movies to think about, and that make you work for it - watch it. At night time.

This movie should deserve a better score than what it has. If only you'd knew how true it is in the country this movie is based on... It really is like that in real life.

Beautiful and unique movie. Amazing what can be done with just a bunch of people, couch, fireplace, and of course, a great story to top it all. No BS special effects and stunts what so ever.
I went into it reading only the description, and loved it. It went by very quickly. Give it at least 15 minutes. If you're still watching, hand yourself the gift of watching it all the way through.
Very Recommend to those who like a good story with lots of imagination, and don't care about fancy CGI.

It's a sweet comedy about a few army girls that worry themselves very much about very little. It's very serious about the nonsense that the characters are dealing with, just like in real life, which makes it very funny. Nicely acted and written.
Everyone will enjoy this movie, though it's very Israeli so to understand most of the jokes (Like why Daffi wants to transfer to where she wants or why she handles that stapler as seen in the movie banner), you ought to know the culture.

I was hoping for more than i got.
This movie takes place in a period of 3-4 days and involves about 5-10 soldiers characters. Its mostly about how they feel and what they think, and very little about actual action sequences.
It comes off better as a book or play, but unfortunately, its not so strong as a movie.
I was really looking forward for a WWI epic, but its only a small story.
Recommended if you like war movies. I wish i could give it an 8, but it's a 7.
This movie is a prequel to The Handmaid's Tale.
If you watch it thinking so, it makes much more sense.

I actually went into this movie with the idea that's it's an historic piece about actual events!
Just imagine my surprise when aliens started showing up. I seriously considered turning it off, but I stayed.
Although this doesn't fit the recent works of either Damon nor Pascal, i enjoyed their batter and lightness. The action is nice and doesn't take itself too seriously, and most important - the characters aren't dumb!
So overall, just tune yourself before watching it, take it easy, and I believe you'll enjoy. Especially if you don't have anything else to watch - but don't clear out your day for this.
For me, watching this the one time only is enough. 7/10.
