If you're looking for an action and "turn brain off now" film, just don't watch it and spare us the 6-7 hearts review.

I for one, am very tired from 500$m crap like Indi Day and Marvel's poop. So I was very excited to watch this one.

This one is more like Spielberg's Encounters from the Third Kind. It's more about the characters in the film and the amazing journey they go through. It's mostly about the human behavior that will make you think.

While it's not an End of the World aliens movie like Battle: Los Angeles, it still offers great amount of military presence and plenty of stuff that's going on.

So if you actually want to care about an intelligent movie and use your head - go. Otherwise, go watch an X men.

Highly recommended for some audience 10/10.

2-feb-2017 edit: Just came out on Bluray and I saw it again. Definitely keeping my rating.
Watching again at July-2023, excited towards Dune II : Excellent. Excellent film. So called plot-holes listed here are negligible when the overall product is really thoughtful and masterfully crafted.

Breaking Bad: 5x14 Ozymandias

this is the worst feeling episode of tv ever. I'm so disturbed and depressed after watching this. simply horrible.
Masterpiece.

Breaking Bad: 5x16 Felina

the saddest episode of anything ever. Amazing even in the 2nd and 3rd time.

when they showed Jesse crafting his beloved wooden box in the dreamy light i actually teared up.

Horace and Pete

This show makes you feel like you're sitting in a theater, watching a play. It feels all warm and cozy, though the characters and dialogs are depressed and disturbed. Its funny in an unfunny way, sophisticated in a layman's way, and plainly unpretentious.

Highly recommended.

i cant stand watching this ep.. simply nerve wrecking. we just know things will go from worst to hell.

Mr. Robot: 4x07 407 Proxy Authentication Required

That episode is built like a play on stage, very dark, deep and intense play. You'll see the screen come up, and down again.
Eventually, it's the most beautiful, emotional and intense episode of the entire series until now.
Simply astonishing.
It's actually a spoiler to know it's so great before starting the episode. I had to pause in the middle to think about how amazing it is.

The Walking Dead: 4x08 Too Far Gone

I rated this episode 10/10 coz it actually made me angry and upset. For a change, I wasn't indifference about what I was watching. I'm actually feel so sorry for the characters of the show.

I don't think I ever hated a TV villain so much as in this case.

We'll now see where it goes from here..

Westworld

\W/estworld give you such an amazing production, that even as a viewer its hard to tell the real apart from the computer made. The quality of the story is no less than superb. Cast are amazing - true, real, and believable every step of the way.

The plot itself is gripping and flowing. By the 2nd episode I'm hooked. I took a small break in the middle of the episode, and found myself just keep thinking about it.
You don't get "cheap" cliff hangers here like in the TWD (which I watch), but actually an ending for each episode.

Only thing is that they say F*ck just all the time, which I think even real people so say so much. Not including Irish.

Extremely recommended, 10/10.

Homeland: 6x10 The Flag House

So this season started kind'a stale, but now I see that was on purpose.
This episode just blew us away with it's intensity and emotional stress.
Outstanding.

I got no more fingernails left for the next 2 final episodes! :E

Dexter: 4x12 The Getaway

I must say. I watched the series when it first came out, and watched it again right now. Through the entire season and this episode, I kept hoping that maybe I didn't remember the ending, and hoped what I remembered didn't happen. I dreaded reaching this episode. Simply horrifying ending.

This is really the best thing around since a long time ago.
If you're a MacFarlane fan - it's a must for you but actually by reading this review you've already seen it.

But if you're just wondering here - it's great even so.

It's funny (I laughed here and I don't remember the last time I laughed from TV)
It's honest,
It's NOT a cliche , the script is original and counter intuitive to other shitty cheap shows,

And best thing-

ITS NOT WOKE AT ALL!!!! ZERO!!! Every character is there because it fits the story and not to fill up some policy!

This shows give me a sliver of hope for TV and especially American TV.
Thank you for this.

Giorgia is so fun, she's a charming actor, and a just beautiful person.
Highly recommended.

The Promised Land

Thankfully we have Mads Mikkelsen who aces every project he's in, and non-hollywood studios to save us from endless American sh*t spewing films.

I walked into this just based on the actors, didn't know anything before, and found a Beautifully done film with a rich story about a long struggle with lots of hardships, high stakes and emotions.

Bravo.

Highly recommended.

Guy Ritchie's The Covenant

Great acting work from everyone, doesn't fall into cliches, story is thrilling and gripping. Shows true brotherhood connection between warriors who went through hell together.
And OMG the score!! So good! really emphasizes and enlarge all the special moments in the film! Beautiful cinematography.
I'm a big fan of war films and a big critic of them.
This is Very highly recommended.

A Million Ways to Die in the West

As a movie of course it's not the best. But it's a must for any Seth mcfarland fan. There were some internal jokes and references that really warmed up up seeing!
Of course NPH is great, Charlize Theron is charming and so many guest cameos that make it such a fun watch!

Family Guy: 18x06 Peter & Lois' Wedding

Hands down one of the best pieces of TV I've seen in so long. I couldn't stop laughing. I can't remember the last time I laughed from this show. Amazing references, and have the twin towers in background of every scene - superb.
Cleaveland has a White Bronco... Amazing.

Extraction

I am one to dislike action movies. Too much unrealistic fighting, invincible hero, and flying cars for me.

But this is different.
It's raw, brutal, angry. Beautifuly coreographed. Fights are as real as they can get in a movie, and feel like Liam Neeson in our beloved Taken (1 of course). Hemsworth is excellent.

I didn't like 6 Underground BS movie, I don't watch Jason Statham, and can't stand Michael Bay (accept Bengahzi actually) and any DC/Marvel crap. But I loved this.

Highly recommended.

And I love it when they make fun of dogs xD

South Park: 21x09 SUPER HARD PCness

My Point of View is that Kyle doesn't like T&P anymore because they have victims that they're using the get laughs. I think its like that new wave of criticism of old shows - mostly Friends. they are getting ripped off now.
They made T&C to look so old just to show that difference in time - now Millennials are ripping off Friends, which was "so long ago" that they're old, but not really that long ago.

And take the actual FEAR of having inner-work relationship, which actually dominates modern work places -

That's definitely some hard core PC.
Loved it.

A Quiet Place

Its the best thriller you've seen in the last few years. It accomplishes so much with so little words. We (and the rest of the theater) were on the edge of our seats from the 3rd minute until the very last second.
You'll connect to the characters emotionally and identify with almost every move they make. Everything is believable and makes sense, which is very satisfying to have.

Extremely recommended/Must-see to anyone who's willing to accept a little sci-fi, and enjoys thrillers.

  • Apart from that, I'm very impressed that a beginner director made a movie with relatively a small budget <20M$ , and made such a smash.
  • Finally something good that has Michael Bay's name in the credits (I despise the transformers series).

I bet that after seeing this, M. Night Shyamalan said "this is what I was supposed to do instead of the crappy corn-field movie.."
