I wish they would follow the book, rather than buy the rights to the book, then throw it all away and just make up new stuff which is apparently what they have done.
It forced me to buy a Twinkie, and I it was disgusting :D The movie was funny, though.
This movie was everything I hoped it would be. Waited 19 years for it. Definitely not disappointed.
Oh come on.
Enough with this dinosaur / dog thing.
Enough with the crappy mutant dinosaurs.
I want to see real dinos that existed not some crappy mutant dino playing dog.
The premise and script of the movie are stupid as hell, dino animal lovers, greedy humans, laughable warlords buying soldiers/dinos. I guess the writers are 8 years old...
Although i like Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard the only good things are cgi and the last 5 min of the movie.
Enough said, bad movie not worthing more time of my life.
I've anticipated this movie since at least 2014 and when COVID hit, I was sure the last chance for Indy V was gone. All this to say I've been EXTREMELY hyped for this movie. It had impossible expectations to fill in but, at least for me, it most definitely did.
The de-aged Harrison Ford looks AMAZING. I loved seeing Indy fight some nazis again and it really made it feel like the original movies.
Mads Mikkelsen is obviously an amazing actor.
I also loved seeing Indy in the '60s, I feel like they acknowledged his age without making too much fun of it.
The story was amazing. I'm a sucker for time-travelling and I didn't dare hoping he would actually travel in time. 2000 years at that. Ofcourse it would have even been cooler if he ended up at a time and location of the original trilogy but that's just me.
I feel kinda bad for Shia! And for the characters in general, losing a son must be the most devestating feeling in the world. Therefore I felt genuinely happy when we saw Marion and that they reconnected.
If rumours are to be believed, the ending was rewritten. So I'm not sure at all but it did feel like Indy really intended to stay in the past. I think he would have died quickly so he wouldn't really change the past. It would have been cool if he was the skeleton buried at Archimede's grave.
I'm not sure what those final moments were about, Indy (?) picking up his hat again?
The score might go down on a rewatch and I have small complaints. I didn't understand why Fleabag would lock Indy in with some stone cold killers.
For me it's a perfect Indiana Jones movie. It had everything I could wish for and I had 2,5 hours of fun!
At least Sean Bean did not die!!
Personally, I don't understand all the hate around this final installment in the series. I thought this was a pretty good Indiana Jones movie, all in all, and I've watched them in the theater since they first came out (except this one).
Yes, the beginning has some de-aging and it's not great - but you get used to it pretty fast and I was seeing old Indiana Jones in no time. Yes Harrison Ford doesn't do his own stunts anymore but he's pretty old to be jumping horses through downtown New York. Lots of CGI in this one, but that's where we are today - you don't see hardly anything but CGI these days so why should this film be any different?
The story is pretty outlandish, but then again the first one that everyone loves had spirits jumping out of an mythical box so you have to suspend your disbelief if you want to watch shows like this.
If I were to rate this in the series as a whole:
#1: Raiders of the Lost Ark
#2: Last Crusade
#3: Dial of Destiny
#4: Temple of Doom
#5: Crystal Skull (mostly because Shia LaBouff sucked)
I get that some people, particularly with Temple of Doom, will disagree with my ranking but they are mine, not yours.
I went Into DoD with a ton of trepidation, all I heard was how bad it was in places like Trakt, but in reality it surpassed my expectations by a pretty large amount. They had a nice nod to all previous characters (except Brody, that was disappointing to me - I know the actor is dead but a mention would have been nice). I think this was a good final movie for Indie.
I'm going to synthesize the film in a quote from Jurassic Park: "That is one big pile of shit"
Don't know who is more annoying, Franklin or Jar Jar Binks.
There are a ton of eye rolling moments and some really dumb decisions, especially the ending, but I had some fun. This really is a movie made for the causal fan that like big summer popcorn movies. Almost all of the human characters are clichés. They do dumb things that makes me want the dinosaurs to eat them. The dinos look great and they have some cool action. I am really tired of the whole morality of if we should let the dinos die or not. The ending really pissed me off, maybe that will set up a better sequel but I'm not counting on it though. On a positive note I thought there were some really fantastic cinematic shots. Also the use of certain lighting made for some ok horror. Watch this on the big screen and don't expect much more than some dumb action and you will be ok.
This movie has no right being as excellent as it is. I freakin loved it!
This past weekend I watched both Excellent and Bogus for the first time. Face the Music takes the very best parts of both earlier movies and combines them in a truly spectacular way while leaving the weaker moments of both prior movies in the past.
At just a hair over 90 minutes, Face the Music never seemed boring. The pacing of the film and overall progression of the story was very well done. Next sentence contains minor spoilers The ending was really REALLY outstanding and had me tear up a little bit when everything got resolved.
I'm gonna compare this in one way to Jurassic World and Jumanji. These two movies and Face The Movies are sotra 'sequels that nobody asked for' situations that turned out far better and more enjoyable than I think anyone anticipated.
Contains just the right amount of off-the-wall situations without going *completely off the rails (like some parts of Bogus). Takes the world building of the original and ads a modern twist.
Also, It was just awesome to see the time traveling sequences with modern graphics
okay so had this been made on a different year this would have probably sucked but however the movie made me laugh out loud and it made me smile it's a very family friendly movie besides a few words but it's a very very good movie that I highly recommend it so excellent and sweet how they care so much about their family and wife's
Well that was a pile of garbage. Cliché cast, good special effects, dialog was extremely bad and that's about all there is to say about this..
Loved the film but the god awful disco soundtrack is horrible. I love Bowie but even that was distracting.
I am going to read the book now....does it mention disco ?
great movie, really enjoyed it 8/10
Very bad movie and is annoying to watch
Great film although the ending was a bit of a let down. The adrenalin was pumping for real during the hotel and fax machine scenes....good stuff.
Even the ratings are 69%. Noice!!
Unlike most movie-goers, I enjoyed it a lot. I love the Franchise, I love Dinosaurs so obviously I love these movies. I have to admit though, that it was predictable from the very beginning when Claire visited the Lockwood Mansion.
After that you could easily tell what was going to happen. Some scenes were just so obscure and ridiculous, because of that, I had to laugh out loud. Many elements were recognizable from previous films but I actually liked that. I also felt very emotional during the dramatic scenes on the Island and might've shed some tears.
The ending was [spoiler] quite open and left room for another movie but[spoiler] I hope that the future holds a storyline that wont be as predictable as this movie.
I'd give this a whole 7/10.
It really doesn't matter much what type of plot they throw in for me, it's just so cool every single time to see those dinosaurs come to live and how realistic they make 'em look.
It won’t let me play the damn video!!
Only made it half way, it was pretty bad :(
