This was so uncomfortable. It took a bit of a toll on me, watching these characters go against every basic instinct and gut feeling. So, eventually, I just gave up. My first thought when the credits rolled was: "well, that's what you get, you absolute idiots."
There's no amount of politeness in the world that could make me override my survival instincts, so this is one of the few horror movies where I can confidently say: that shit would NOT happen to me. No child has ever died from feeling a little sad, so the bunny can suck it.
Damn this was heavy. It's like someone picked the end of The Mist and made a movie.
I think I must have watched a different film to most of the reviewers. It was nonsense from start to finish. Terrible acting, ridiculous decisions that make the teens in slasher movies seem like Einstein, and it's so dated it looks much older than it is - especially when you consider that Alien and Star Wars came out a year earlier.
you would think a zombie movie where literally every character just starts to die out throughout the plot would maybe TRY to make you like the characters. but i guess that's just to much to ask! silly me, i guess i did just have to hate almost every single one of them. also, it seems that every bit of common sense was thrown out just for the sake of absolutely unbelievable fight scenes.
ALSO was the bomb not a NUCLEAR bomb?? literally no matter if they all wouldve gotten out or not, THEY WOULDVE ALL DIED OF RADIATION POISONING! why is the dad giving his daughter money to go save the children in the camp, when the camp got fucking obliterated by radiation anyway?? and the ending with the dude stuck in the safe was also incredibly unsatisfying. how did the dad turn in 10 minutes but that dude almost went a day without turning. at least follow your own fucking rules set in the universe.
Dawn of the dead is one of my favorite zombie movies so I was really excited for this!
I'm so disappointed... A stupid story where nothing made sense! If that boss only needed that head why did the others needed to die? They could just take the money and the head! Everyone happy... And why did those 3 chicks stay in that room?! They could try to escape... It's not like they were chained or in a locked room!
I absolutely LOVED this movie. Halle Bailey was incredible as Ariel. She drew me in every time she was on screen. Melissa McCarthy also surprised me with her performance as Ursula. Overall, it's clear the people making this movie truly understood what makes these classic Disney stories feel magical, and they were able to bring that magic to life (imo) better than any other live action Disney remake has done. Oh, and see it in 3D if you can!
'The Little Mermaid' perfectly hits that sweet spot between reinvention and nostalgia. Halle Bailey is easily the standout. Her rendition of Part of Your World is magical. This is one of Disney’s best live-action reimaginings to date.
I can only say one thing: Of the best films I've seen, this is a damn piece of pure art.
I think this film may be Tarantino at his best. The great thing about this film is that it takes the audience and puts them into a myserious and colorful world that Tarantino has created for us. For years I had kept this movie in the middle of my to-watch list because I thought that it was merely a wannabe Bruce Lee movie. Not so. Tarantino, not unlike the Coen brotheers, is the kind of moviemaker that makes the movie that he wants to see and isn't interested if you like it or not.
****updated: Volume 2 is even better

This movie is just perfect. It is a big compilation of the best samurai movies from the 70's (with a special Tarantino touch). If you like this genre you will love this film. There is not a single thing I would change in this movie.
I’m speechless again, after 10 years since watching it’s got better with time. Still masterful and beats most of the trash being made today.
Kill Bill, both volume 1 and 2, is absolutely gorgeous! The art direction is beautiful! The camera angles are perfect... just Gorgeous! The lighting, the sound, the dialogs... and of course, the details!
I'm speechless as to how amazing this movie is. From an amazing soundtrack and sound mixing to gorgeous cinematography, this movie had me mindblown and I genuinely cannot express how well done this movie was. Even staying up until 3 am in my darkroom made it better, this has to be my all-time favourite movie by far.
Another amazing Tarantino movie. Must be seen by everyone.
The most perfect 10's of ANY Director ohhhhhhhhhh
It's so cool to see the Sanderson Sisters again! It's such a nostalgia trip. That being said, the movie is just okay. I really loved the beginning with the Sisters' origin story; I would've loved if it was longer.
The present day teenagers were boring as hell though. Just like the joke in the movie, I forgot their names too. It's like every teenage lead now has to be intelligent, confident, witty, good looking, an outsider but in a cool way, and their only faults seem to be that they're so confident it causes conflict that they're always in the right about. I loved in the first film how the three teenage leads all had very different personalities, and were able to bounce off of each other well.
The film was also missing any real scary moments. In the original, the Sisters seemed like a real threat. Here, they're never really intimidating, because the producers would never allow it.
Somehow I had never seen this movie before, a lot of films are a time and place, let’s just say I completely missed both. The jet flying but also hilarious that most of it is training missions, the romantic subplot is such a bore and really tanks most of the movie. Poor Goose got done dirty and his wife and children didn’t get to keep his dog tags because asshole Maverick whips them into the fucking ocean. I could tell you more but then I’d have to kill you.
It's enjoyable, but whoever did the soundtrack pulled the greatest scam. It's just laziness. Either I'm on the highway to the danger zone or you're taking my breath away. Those were my only two options.
The Matrix meets Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind…meets Ratatouille?
I'm not quite sure what this film wanted to be. It was a weirdly tense psychological drama for the first half, then it takes a left turn into an escape thriller, and then it sort of whimpers out into a revenger that really gives you nothing to hold on to. I'm still struggling to pull much from this after having sat through it. Maybe it's supposed to showcase Elijah Wood's character growing in some way, but I'm not sure he really grows in any ways that feel good or positive. Shrug
Serotonin levels are going through the roof. Completely wacky and out there but it’s something the world really needs right now and somehow it just.. works? It keeps you invested throughout despite the crazy story it’s got going on. This would’ve been amazing to see at the cinema but I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait another goodness knows how long to finally see it. Finally, 3 words. Jamie. Dornan. Seagulls. This scene alone is worth the rental price. Do it if only to see that part, you won’t regret it
