I've never understood why this movie got to such a 'status'. Amazing list of actors; crap movie
One of the worst adaptions of a computergame ever made.
Seems to be a kids movie, except for all the explicit gore. A bit too obvious. And all-bullshit. Maybe if they would have not tried to leave an open ending for a sequel, then it would have been a bit faster and more enjoyable. The whole Even Walker-Rambo-character was so way out of place with his "and I chose you and I will kill all aliens because they dont believe in love" really killed it off entirely. But I knew already what was going on with the first look at Vosch. Too obvioooooooous.
Great 80s style action flick.
Maybe a lot of fun if you're an Afro-American. Part 1 was hilarious. This was just another movie of which we've seen 200+ before. 1 grumpy guy, 1 try-hard to get grumpy's appreciation. Police setting. Plot twist. Bla. Done. Just all-afro and a little Asian added into the mix. No, hardly worth the trouble. We finished watching it and it was good for a smile here and there, but that's it.
Weird movie. Way overrated. One of Richie's worst. Too much attempts at being a mix of Snatch and Pulp Fiction and not being very succesful at it.
Oh my God, really, how many puns and references can you put in 1 single episode.
Breaking Bad, Speed, Walking Dead,, Fringe. Starwars, Silence of the Lambs, the Joker... even songs "Like a bat out of Hell" (Meatloaf ? or are there other references?). many others which I cant connect yet, but I know there are many more.
If I'd watch it again I'll probably find several more
Season 1 started a bit slow and I was not sure in what way it would develop. With all the superhero movies and series going on, I was a bit sceptic if yet another series would be worth my time. Then I watched the linked series Jessica Jones and Daredevil more or less side by side. Not bad; I enjoyed it. Jessica Jones was a bit too much drama and too much psycho stuff for my taste, but my g.f. enjoyed it a lot with the strong woman in the lead and heck, overall I can say that it didn't bore me :)
Now season 2 has come and I just finished watching the last episode. It's been feeling a bit repetitive in the last few episodes and also extremely predictable. I wont give any spoilers, but the ending I could really see coming a mile away, even the side story about Frank and how everything comes together again at the end. Not extremely bad, considering it's a series and not a movie, but it could have been a tad little bit less totally obvious what would be happening. Some unexpected plot turns is what keeps things interesting... this season did not have any.
Also one additional point of criticism is that season 2 has become way too graphic. Cutting off hands, ripping throats, pulling out eyes, cutting into prisoners legs, very grapich torture on just about every single episode, putting Sai's into bad guys eyes... etc. Too much guys! Not needed to try to gross people out completely. Turn it down a notch please, ok?
However, I'm still looking forward to season 3 and the -sooner or later to be expected- formation of the Defenders. But I guess that wont be until at least 2017 as we're still lacking the introduction of Iron Fist, as far as I know. I dont believe this to be a spoiler, as most fans know about it and else a quick look around Google will tell you the (Netflix) Defenders being Daredevil, Jessico Jones, Lucas Cage(from Jessica Jones), Ironfist.
I absolutely loved the old Death Race game on the intel 386DX computer I had in....... prehistoric times. So I was very happy to see Statham in a movie with this title. I enjoyed the movie overal, it's not bad.
Tedious. Boring. No more to say then just those 2 words, but the site requires me to write at least 5. So: Tedious. Boring.
How can there be 7 votes giving it 36% now in 2016, when the movie is due in 2017???
Plothole galore. Motivation of why many of the main characters do their specific things are very lacking. The movie could have been a lot better. It's not really bad, but it's definitely not a good movie either.
Not bad. Entertaining, but rather predictable. It's basically like watching Brosnan do another James Bond movie, but then just a little less over the top. Not the best movie ever, but I enjoyed it.
The movie starts very slow, it's mostly a typical lawer-meets-spystuff movie with a lot of talking. Still, I enjoyed the movie. Dont expect for any big time plot changes though, it's almost a documentary.
well, what should I say... this is a movie to forget about quickly. I guess it was some sort of attempt at creating arthouse with an impressive list of 'names'; but it ended up becoming no more than a sum of cliches.
Huge disappointment. After such strong movies before, this was a total let-down.
Good movie. Really keeps you guessing. At first I thought it would be "another one of those 13 in a dozen" time traveling movies, btu this one was quite different from the average one, it really stands out from the bunch.
It seemed like a movie for 12-14 y/o kids, if there wouldnt be so many bodies.
Everything was just retardly stupid about this movie. The plot, the milestones, basically everything that happened.....
A plane crashes, everyone aboard is dead after the crash, but the fuselage is still 100% intact, and people are still sitting on their desk-chairs inside of the plane........? Right.
Stupidity all around in this movie. I'd expect this movie was written on a Thursday night in the pub, while everyone was getting drunk, the initial idea was not bad, the start of the movie could have even become a decent action movie, but then everyone got drunk and the whole plot and storyline went downhill from there.
What a total let-down. Stupid dialogues, stupid characters and sure if everyone gets shot to hell around you, keep on laughing......... right? C'mon.
Nowhere near as good as the original Statham movies. Heck, even the series was better (and that series was b.a.d.).
really sad this was the last Storage Wars texas, I enjoy Ricky & Bubba, Marry, Victor and to a lesser degree even Jenny and the other occasional red neck a lot more than the regular Storage Wars, where the only interesting characters are Jarrod & Brandi and Darryl. The others there are annoying, like Barry and his friends...
I would say I am target audience, as I was born in 1979 and played pacman, arkanoid, space invaders, digger, paratroopers, etc etc. And I played them a lot.
But the first 20 minutes was not funny, not entertaining, it was as watching a very bad version of sci-fi revenge of the nerds. And a rather pathetic version at that.
Yes, I guess that word soms up this movie: pathetic.
I love the whole idea and possibly this story could have proven a fun movie with many retro elements. But unfortunately this movie does not go beyond a pathetic display of how 'nerds' live and behave. Or how Hollywood perceives it.
Adam Sandler is annoying as always and this "Ludlow" person by Josh Gad is absolutely terrible.
This movie is a really weird mix of Harry Potter, Beverly Hills 90210, Twilight and Veronica Mars all thrown into one. At the same time it's refreshing though. Don't take the movie too seriously and heck, it's perhaps even a little enjoyable.
If you're expecting a proper and thruthful book-adaption, you'll be in for a serious disapointment though.
Somehow I just couldnt get into this movie. It was not my cup of tea. Disappointing
Not really my cup of tea. Season 1 seemed all about gore. Season 2 seemed to be all about sex and intrigue. I gave up. It's not a bad series, but I guess you should be into raw history and mythology, to enjoy this series.
Where are the days when seeing the label "Syfy original series", meant absolutely getting quality? Oh my Lord what a... I'm done with this. I was really interested in the idea, I like a lot of the Roman period (-inspired) and Greek mythological series and movies, but this definately isnt one of them.
I absolutely loved the movie. The plot holes were almost negligable and as a whole it seemed to be.... realistic! This movie is Cast Away meets Gravity meets McGuyver.
The gore and violence was too much for me. I almost never stop watching a movie, but after 40 minutes it was too much crazyness for me. Is this is what they call "arthouse" ? Or just reallife anime? No thanks.
Ugh... terrible movie. The only thing good about the movie was Mila.
I was already lost when they mistook Mila for her friend (they clearly were looking for Katharine Dunlevy, based on the birth certificate) and then actually, they were actually looking for Jupiter (Mila) afteral. Say what?
The whole story and this incredible cast really had some potential... but.... Mehh.
Even Leaving Las Vegas was less depressing then this movie. And that
movie surely was better written, had better dialogs and was created
with a lot of passion. All of which are things this movie lacks.
Yet again a far-below-mediocre movie from Nicolas Cage. I cant believe
how far he has sunk.
The movie started out interesting, with an old spy confined to his
desk. The motives for the (typical in this kind of movies) helper are
superficial at most. For some vague reason he gives up his career to
pursue the (typical for this kind of movie) villain that the old spy
never managed to catch.
But the movie does not get much further there. It's as if the writer
did not manage to find any further inspiration. Or they ran out of
budget. Or both.
Do. Not. Bother.
so incredibly stupid that it's funny. still, I'd say, waste your time on another movie
