I'll put this one into my favorite episode category despite the fact I was always rooting for the Picard/Crusher train. They did make Daren look a lot like Bev, though. I wonder why I only noticed that now.
The scene where they play the little Ressican tune in the Jeffries tube was very emotional and had me on the verge of crying. The episode works really well as it is able to carry the emotions needed to make us care and feel. Stewart and Hughes have great, instant chemistry.

@finfan - I wanted so much to dislike Daren because she looks and sounds so much like Crusher (who we cherish and adore, so there can clearly be NO competition )... but, I could not, Hughes is indeed a delightful actress and as you've said the chemistry is there, so I just sighed and resigned myself to enjoy the show and a good show it is.

LOL, the writers definitely set us up with all the shared meals and framed looks of concern from Crusher, she was a little jealous... maybe protective is the better word, she didn't want her friend to get hurt again, though she knew (because she knows Picard) that it would be inevitable.
Crusher and Picard's... companionship is the most longstanding love of Picard's life, and that's just fine, it is enough. :)
